Abstract
Description
- La présente invention concerne un procédé de décapage de matériaux en acier, notamment un procédé de décapage en continu sur une ligne de traitement, comprenant une opération de décapage proprement dite et une opération de rinçage.
- Le procédé de décapage selon l'invention peut être mis en oeuvre sur des matériaux métalliques en acier en milieu industriel, telles que des bandes ou des feuilles d'acier avant sortie usine.
- Il est connu pour décaper un matériau en acier de le faire passer dans une ligne de traitement en continu ou non, qui met ledit matériau en contact avec une solution acide, par immersion ou par aspersion, puis avec une eau de rinçage, également par immersion ou par aspersion.
- Plus particulièrement, il est connu, dans le cas de décapage de bandes d'acier par immersion, de faire défiler ladite bande dans des bacs successifs contenant une solution aqueuse d'acide chlorhydrique ou sulfurique dont la concentration varie de 350 g/l à 25 g/l selon l'ordre du bac dans la chaîne de décapage, et des sels de fer, puis de rincer la bande ainsi décapée en la faisant défiler dans des bacs contenant de l'eau éventuellement déminéralisée, afin d'amener le pH de la solution résiduelle sur la tôle au voisinage de la neutralité.
- On constate toutefois qu'en cas de ralentissement de la ligne de décapage ou d'arrêt momentané de celle-ci, il se forme au rinçage sur la tôle des taches d'oxydation dites taches de rinçage, dues à l'oxydation des sels de fer résiduaires restés sur la tôle malgré le rinçage et incrustés à la surface de celle-ci.
- Des essais ont été réalisés en décapant une bande d'acier standard dans des bacs de décapage contenant une solution de décapage ayant la composition suivante :
- 100 g/l d'acide chlorhydrique ;
- 90 g/l d'ions ferreux sous forme Fe++ (FeCl₂),
- On constate qu'après deux minutes d'arrêt de la ligne, des taches de rinçage apparaissent sur la tôle, et après 6 minutes 30 secondes d'arrêt, la tôle présente une multitude de taches de rinçage.
- Or, la présence de ces taches de rinçage est préjudiciable à la qualité du produit et entraîne à chaque arrêt, voire même en cas de ralentissement de la ligne de décapage, la mise au rebut du produit décapé.
- La présente invention a pour but de proposer un procédé de décapage de matériaux en acier permettant d'éviter l'apparition des taches d'oxydation (dites taches de rinçage) en cas d'arrêt ou de ralentissement de la ligne de décapage.
- La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de décapage de matériaux en acier, notamment en continu sur une ligne de traitement, comprenant une opération de décapage au moyen d'une solution acide, et une opération de rinçage à l'eau, caractérisé en ce que :
- l'on maintient le pH de l'eau de rinçage en contact avec ledit matériau à une valeur inférieure à 2,35 par addition à l'eau de rinçage d'une quantité appropriée d'au moins un acide organique ou un dérivé d'acide organique, jusqu'à passivation du matériau, ou
- l'on ajoute à l'eau de rinçage une solution acide comprenant, en poids :
- . de 5 à 35% d'anhydride maléique,
- . de 1,5 à 12,5% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique,
- . de 1 à 10% d'acide citrique, le reste étant constitué par de l'eau.
- Parmi les acides organiques appropriés, on peut citer l'acide formique, acétique, malonique, succinique, tartrique, maléique, citrique, glutarique, trioxyglutarique, gluconique, glucoheptonique, lactique, benzoïque, citrique, éthylènediaminetétraacétique, hydroxyéthylènediaminetriacétique, diéthylènetriaminepentaacétique, nitrilotriacétique, ainsi que les esters et anhydrides correspondants, et les mélanges desdits acides, esters et anhydrides.
- Avantageusement, on ajoute à l'eau de rinçage une solution comprenant un mélange des acides ou esters et anhydrides correspondants.
- Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, on maintient le pH à une valeur inférieure à 2,35 en ajoutant à l'eau de rinçage un mélange comprenant :
- de 5 à 35% d'anhydride maléique,
- de 1,5 à 12,5% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique,
- de 1 à 10% d'acide citrique, le reste étant constitué par de l'eau.
- De préférence, la solution acide ajoutée à l'eau de rinçage comprend, en poids :
- 20% d'anhydride maléique,
- 7% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique, et
- 5% d'acide citrique,
- De manière avantageuse, la solution acide est ajoutée à l'eau de rinçage dans une proportion comprise de 0,01% à 2% en poids, de préférence 1% en poids.
- Selon un mode de réalisation particulièrement avantageux, la solution acide de rinçage contient en outre :
- de 1 à 10%, de préférence 5%, en poids, d'un alcool, d'un amino-alcool ou d'un de leurs sels, avantageusement choisi parmi les alcools monovalents, divalents et polyvalents et les amino-alcools correspondants, et
- de 0,5 à 10%, de préférence 5%, en poids, d'un agent tensio-actif.
- Comme exemple d'alcools préférés, on peut citer le glycérol, l'érythritol, l'éthylèneglycol, le diéthylèneglycol, l'éthanolamine, la diéthanolamine, la triéthanolamine, etc...
- L'agent tensioactif peut être de type non ionique, anionique, cationique et ampholytique.
- Parmi les agents tensio-actifs non ioniques, on peut citer les produits de condensation de l'oxyde d'éthylène avec divers composés à hydrogène labile, réactifs avec l'oxyde d'éthylène, qui possèdent de longues chaînes hydrophobes (par exemple des chaînes aliphatiques d'environ 8 à 20 atomes de carbone), ces produits de condensation contenant des fragments polyoxyéthylène hydrophiles, par exemple les produits de condensation de poly(oxyde d'éthylène) avec des acides gras, des alcools gras, des amides gras, des polyalcools (par exemple le monostéarate de sorbitanne) et le poly(oxyde de propylène) (par exemple les produits de la série Pluronic).
- Parmi les agents tensio-actifs, anioniques, on peut citer les sels hydrosolubles de monosulfates de monoglycérides d'acides gras supérieurs, tels que le sel de sodium du monoglycéride monosulfaté d'acides gras d'huile de coprah hydrogénée, des alkylsulfates supérieurs tels que le laurylsulfate de sodium, des alkylarylsulfonates tels que le dodécylbenzène-sulfonate de sodium, les alkylsulfoacétates supérieurs, les esters d'acides gras supérieurs de 1, 2-dihydroxypropane-sulfonates, et les acylamides aliphatiques supérieurs sensiblement saturés formés avec des acides aminocarboxyliques aliphatiques inférieurs, tels que ceux dont les radicaux acide gras, alkyle ou acyle comptent 12 à 16 atomes de carbone, etc... Des exemples des amides mentionnés en dernier lieu sont la N-lauroylsarcosine, et les sels de sodium, de potassium et d'éthanolamine de N-lauroyl-, N-myristoyl- ou N-palmitoyl-sarcosine.
- Parmi les agents tensio-actifs cationiques, on peut citer les sels d'ammonium quaternaire à longue chaîne, par exemple le chlorure de lauryltriméthylammonium ou le chlorure de cétyltriméthylammonium.
- Parmi les agents tensio-actifs ampholytiques, on peut citer les dérivés de composés aliphatiques ou de dérivés aliphatiques d'amines hétérocycliques secondaires et tertiaires dont le radical aliphatique peut être à chaîne droite ou ramifiée, et dont l'un des substituants aliphatiques contient environ 8 à 18 atomes de carbone, alors qu'au moins un autre substituant contient un groupe anionique de solubilisation dans l'eau, par exemple un groupe carboxy-, sulfonate ou sulfato. Parmi les composés de cette catégorie, on citera le 3-(dodécylamino)propionate de sodium, le 3-(dodécylamino)propane-1-sulfonate de sodium, le 2-(dodécylamino)éthyl-sulfate de sodium, le 2-(diméthylamino)octadécanoate de sodium, le 3-(N-carboxyméthyldodécylamino)-propane-1-sulfonate disodique, l'octadécyl-iminodiazétate disodique, le 1-carboxyméthyl-2-undécylimidazole sodique et la N,N-bis(2-hydroxyéthyl)-2-sulfato-3-dodécoxypropyl-amine sodique.
- L'opération de rinçage est avantageusement effectuée par immersion du matériau à traiter dans au moins une cellule de rinçage, la solution acide de rinçage étant apportée dans au moins une des cellules de rinçage, ou par aspersion du matériau, par exemple à l'aide de rampes d'aspersion.
- L'invention a également pour objet une solution acide de rinçage telle que définie précédemment.
- On donnera ci-après un exemple de solution de rinçage selon l'invention.
- On a préparé une solution constituée de :
- 20% d'anhydride maléique,
- 7% d'acide gluconique,
- 5% d'acide citrique,
- 5% diéthylèneglycol,
- 5% de dodécylbenzène-sulfonate de sodium,
- Les caractéristiques et avantages de l'invention apparaîtront au cours de la description suivante, pour laquelle on se réfèrera à la figure annexée, représentant une vue schématique d'un exemple de réalisation d'une ligne de décapage en continu d'une bande d'acier.
- Dans l'exemple de réalisation représenté, la ligne de décapage d'une bande de tôle 1 se compose de deux unités, une unité de décapage 2, et une unité de rinçage 3.
- L'unité de décapage 2 est constituée de bacs de décapage 4, contenant une solution de décapage acide connue, par exemple une solution aqueuse constituée de 50 g/l d'acide chlorhydrique et de sels de fer pour le premier bac de la ligne de décapage, et une solution aqueuse constituée de 200 g/l d'acide chlorhydrique et de sels de fer dans le dernier bac de la ligne de décapage, les bacs intermédiaires contenant des solutions ayant des concentrations intermédiaires.
- La tôle 1 défile dans les bacs successifs allant du premier bac contenant 50 g/l d'acide chlorhydrique au dernier bac contenant 200 g/l d'acide chlorhydrique, sur des rouleaux 5.
- L'unité de rinçage 2 est constituée de rampes d'aspersion d'eau de rinçage 6, sectorisées, aspergeant la tôle 1 d'eau de rinçage sur toute sa surface supérieure et inférieure.
- Dans l'exemple de réalisation représenté, la ligne de décapage comporte quatre cellules de rinçage, constituées par quatre rampes d'aspersion 7a, 7b, 7c et 7d, la rampe 7a étant celle située immédiatement après le dernier bac de décapage 4.
- Sous chaque rampe d'aspersion 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, se situe un entonnoir de récupération de l'eau de rinçage, respectivement 8a, 8b, 8c et 8d, et un bac de récupération de ladite eau, respectivement 9a, 9b, 9c et 9d.
- En variante, l'unité de rinçage 2 peut être du même type que l'unité de décapage 1, c'est-à-dire comprendre des bacs de rinçage dans lesquels la tôle 1 est immergée et défile.
- Des mesures du pH de l'eau de rinçage et/ou de concentration des ions Fe³⁺ dans les bacs de récupération 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, c'est-à-dire après passage de la tôle 1, ont été réalisées.
- Ces mesures ont permis de constater que le pH dans le premier bac de récupération 9a était inférieur à 2, soit très acide, le pH dans le bac 9b était voisin de 4, le pH dans le bac 9c était voisin de 5, et dans le bac 9d voisin de 6.
- Les essais ont permis de constater que, tant que le pH est inférieur à 2,35, les ions de fer contenus dans la solution ne précipitent pas sous forme de composés ferriques du type hydroxyde ferrique Fe (OH)₃, mais dès que le pH est supérieur à 2,35, ces ions de fer précipitent sous forme de composés ferriques.
- Compte tenu de ce qu'une partie de l'eau de rinçage reste sur la tôle, cette précipitation de composés ferriques résiduaires sur la tôle entraîne, en cas d'arrêt de la ligne ou de ralentissement, une oxydation de ladite tôle, provoquant la tache de rinçage.
- En outre, lorsque la tôle est passivée, par exemple lorsqu'il est établi que les ions Fe³⁺ ont été entraînés au rinçage, elle est protégée, et le phénomène d'oxydation est stoppé.
- On a alors ajouté à l'eau de rinçage de la rampe d'aspersion 7b la solution acide décrite dans l'exemple ci-dessus, dans une proportion de 1% en poids.
- Dans ce cas, au niveau du bac de récupération 9b, la concentration en ions Fe³⁺ avait sensiblement augmenté et le pH avait diminué, les mesures effectuées ayant donné les résultats suivants :
Bac de rinçage N° pH 9a 1,5 9b 2 9c 5 9d 6 - On a constaté que la tôle était passivée et que le risque d'oxydation avait disparu à la sortie du second bac de rinçage, et donc il n'a pas été nécessaire de rajouter la solution acide selon l'invention à l'eau de rinçage des 3ème et 4ème bacs de rinçage.
- Si la tôle n'avait pas été passivée à la sortie du second bac de rinçage et/ou si un risque d'apparition du phénomène d'oxydation demeurait, il aurait fallu rajouter la solution acide selon l'invention également à l'eau de rinçage du troisième bac.
- Ce risque d'apparition du phénomène d'oxydation peut être par exemple évalué de la manière suivante : on mesure la concentration en ions ferriques dans le bac de récupération 9c, on rajoute momentanément la solution acide selon l'invention également à l'eau de rinçage du troisième bac, et on mesure à nouveau la concentration en ions ferriques dans le bac de récupération correspondant 9c ; une augmentation sensible de cette concentration traduit un risque d'apparition du phénomène d'oxydation.

Claims (16)
- Procédé de décapage de matériaux en acier, notamment en continu sur une ligne de traitement, comprenant une opération de décapage au moyen d'une solution acide, et une opération de rinçage à l'eau, caractérisé en ce que :- l'on maintient le pH de l'eau de rinçage en contact avec ledit matériau à une valeur inférieure à 2,35 par addition à l'eau de rinçage d'une quantité appropriée d'au moins un acide organique ou un dérivé d'acide organique, jusqu'à passivation du matériau, ou- l'on ajoute à l'eau de rinçage une solution acide comprenant, en poids :. de 5 à 35% d'anhydride maléique,. de 1,5 à 12,5% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique,. de 1 à 10% d'acide citrique, le reste étant constitué par de l'eau.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'on maintient le pH de l'eau de rinçage en contact avec ledit matériau à une valeur inférieure à 2,35 par addition à l'eau de rinçage d'une quantité appropriée d'un mélange d'acides organiques ou de dérivés d'acides organiques.
- Procédé selon la revendication 1 ou 2, caractérisé en ce que l'on ajoute à l'eau de rinçage une solution acide comprenant, en poids :- de 5 à 35% d'anhydride maléique,- de 1,5 à 12,5% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique,- de 1 à 10% d'acide citrique, le reste étant constitué par de l'eau.
- Procédé selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que la solution acide comprend, en poids :- 20% d'anhydride maléique,- 7% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique, et- 5% d'acide citrique,
le reste étant constitué par de l'eau. - Procédé selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la solution acide est ajoutée à l'eau de rinçage dans une proportion comprise entre 0,01% à 2%, en poids.
- Procédé selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que la solution acide est ajoutée à l'eau de rinçage à raison de 1% en poids.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que la solution acide contient en outre :- de 1 à 10%, en poids, d'un alcool, d'un amino-alcool, ou d'un de leurs sels, et- de 0,5 à 10%, en poids, d'un agent tensio-actif.
- Procédé selon la revendication 7, caractérisé en ce que la solution acide contient :- 5%, en poids, d'un alcool choisi parmi les alcools monovalents, divalents ou polyvalents, les amino-alcools correspondants, et leurs sels, et- 5%, en poids, d'un agent tensio-actif.
- Procédé selon la revendication 7 ou la revendication 8, caractérisé en ce que l'alcool ou l'amino-alcool est choisi parmi le glycérol, l'érythritol, le diéthylèneglycol, l'éthanolamine, la diéthanolamine et la triéthanolamine.
- Procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que l'opération de rinçage est effectuée par immersion du matériau en acier dans au moins une cellule de rinçage, et la solution acide est ajoutée dans au moins une desdites cellules de rinçage.
- Procédé selon l'une des revendications 1 à 9, caractérisé en ce que l'opération de rinçage est réalisée par aspersion du matériau.
- Solution acide de rinçage pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend :- de 5 à 35% d'anhydride maléique,- de 1,5 à 12,5% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique,- de 1 à 10% d'acide citrique, le reste étant constitué par de l'eau.
- Solution acide de rinçage selon la revendication 12, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comprend :- 20% d'anhydride maléique,- 7% d'acide gluconique ou glucoheptonique, et- 5% d'acide citrique,
le reste étant constitué par de l'eau. - Solution acide de rinçage selon la revendication 12 ou la revendication 13, caractérisée en ce qu'elle contient en outre :- de 1 à 10%, en poids, d'un alcool, d'un amino-alcool, ou d'un de leurs sels, et- de 0,5 à 10%, en poids, d'un agent tensio-actif.
- Solution acide de rinçage selon la revendication 14, caractérisée en ce que l'alcool ou l'amino-alcool est choisi parmi le glycérol, l'érythritol, l'éthylèneglycol, le diéthylèneglycol, l'éthanolamine, la diéthanolamine, et la triéthanolamine.
- Solution acide de rinçage selon la revendication 14 ou la revendication 15, caractérisée en ce qu'elle contient :- 5%, en poids, d'un alcool choisi parmi les alcools monovalents divalents, ou polyvalents, et les amino-alcools, et- 5%, en poids, d'un agent tensio-actif.
