Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cassette for a pressing device according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • EP-A-0 577 312 which belongs to the state of the art according to Article 54 (3) EPC, describes a cassette for an extrusion device, which is used to hold masses filled in plastic bags.
  • the cassette is cylindrical and open on its end faces.
  • a piston is axially displaceable within the cassette.
  • the piston has symmetrically designed end faces and can be acted upon alternately by both end faces.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of designing a cassette for a pressing device in such a way that a reduction in wear on the piston and a simpler and easier usability of the pressing device is achieved.
  • the piston has combs running along its circumference in the longitudinal direction of the piston.
  • Such combs have the advantage that the entire circumference does not lie against the inner wall of the receiving chamber: the stripping of the film material on the inner wall is nevertheless ensured and the friction which arises when the piston is axially displaced is correspondingly greatly reduced.
  • a cassette of this type which has a piston in its receiving chambers, can be alternately equipped with squeezable foil bags from each of its end faces after each squeezing process. After the pressing process, the cassette is removed from the pressing device, the folded film is pulled out and then rotated through 180 °, so that the new film bags can be inserted on the opposite end of the cassette.
  • the piston which was displaced into a front end position in the cassette during the pressing-out process previously formed thus forms a rear wall or a base part for the new film bags which can be inserted into the cassette. This is an advantage in that the foil bags can easily be inserted into the cassette without having to worry about whether they can fall out on the back.
  • the piston arranged in the cassette can be acted upon alternately on both sides in the central area by the piston rod.
  • Significant advantages of the design of the cassette according to the invention can be seen in the fact that the piston is located in the cassette and does not have to be inserted into the cassette with each new pressing process.
  • the piston rod is retracted without frictional resistance, since the end face of the piston rod no longer carries the piston but only pressurizes it in the central area.
  • the arrangement of the piston in the cassette also ensures that the replacement of a piston that is used several times and is damaged by mechanical wear and tear takes place by the cassette with this damaged piston also being disposed of. Time-consuming replacement of the piston on the piston rod with the help of suitable tools is therefore no longer necessary.
  • the piston expediently consists of at least two parts which have symmetrically designed end faces.
  • the production of such a piston for the cassette is economical because the piston is easier or easier to manufacture.
  • the piston must be thin or thick-walled and have a specific profile that engages the foil pouch.
  • the two parts of the piston can be arranged in the cassette without being firmly connected to one another.
  • the receiving chambers expediently have trains running in the longitudinal direction and interacting with the ridges of the piston, which are generally designed as grooves which serve to receive the trains arranged on the piston.
  • This type of training ensures a very high positional stability of the piston in the receiving chamber guaranteed because the piston is unable to tilt in any way in the receiving chamber.
  • a narrow configuration of these grooves ensures that the film bag arranged in the receiving chamber cannot penetrate into these grooves.
  • Corresponding combs arranged on the piston can engage in these narrow grooves and grip the foil bag well.
  • Such receiving chambers or pistons also have the advantage that rotation of the piston within the receiving chamber is not possible. A helical twisting of the film bag in the receiving chamber during the pressing process can thus be prevented.
  • the receiving chambers advantageously have a circular cross section. Since the production of tubular film bags is simple and economical, the receiving chambers have a circular cross section. Pistons which have an essentially circular cross section can also be produced economically.
  • the receiving chambers expediently have different volumes.
  • certain mixing ratios are required, which can only be achieved by pressing at least two different components in differently sized receiving chambers at the same time.
  • the 1 has a tubular middle part 2, into which a cassette 3 is inserted, which holds a film pouch 4 containing one or more components.
  • the inserted cassette 3 contains an axially displaceable piston 5 with symmetrical end faces 5b, 5c.
  • the piston is alternately loaded on both sides, in each case centrally by a piston rod 6.
  • a nozzle 7 is arranged, which cooperates with the film bag 4 and is metered through the masses pressed out of the film bag 4 to a processing point, not shown.
  • connection piece 8 which receives the entire feed mechanism 9 of the pressing device 1.
  • a piston rod is guided through the connecting piece 8 and can be axially displaced by the feed mechanism 9.
  • the connecting piece 8 has a handle part 10, to which a trigger lever 12 is fastened so that it can pivot about an axis 11 in the direction of the handle part 10.
  • the cassette 3 consists of a receiving chamber 13 which is open on both end faces 13a, 13b.
  • the length of the cassette 3 is matched to the film bag 4 to be accommodated, to the length of the piston 5 arranged in the cassette 3 and, if appropriate, to the folded film bag 4, which alternately comes to rest on one end face 13a, 13b.
  • the piston 5 arranged in the cassette 3 is matched to the frontal contour of the film bag 4 and has a recess 5a in the central area, which serves to receive the closure element 14 in the form of a clip.
  • a free space 15 is formed in each case in the outer circumference of the piston 5, which essentially serves to accommodate the folded-up foil bag 4.
  • the piston 5 arranged in the receiving chamber 13 is formed in two parts and can be acted upon centrally by the piston rod 6 at the end in each case.
  • FIG. 2 shows a cassette 3, in the receiving chamber 13 of which an axially displaceable piston 5 which is in the end position and which can be acted upon alternately on both sides is arranged.
  • the cassette 3 is equipped with a filled foil bag 4. In the arrangement shown, the cassette 3 can be inserted into a pressing device 1 in such a way that the piston 5 faces the piston rod 6.
  • FIG 3 shows the same cassette 3 which was removed from the pressing device 1 after half the pressing process.
  • the piston 5 is located approximately in the middle of the receiving chamber 13 and the film bag 4 is partially expressed, which is also evident in particular from the film bag 4 which is partially folded.
  • FIG. 4 shows the cassette 3 according to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 after the pressing process has ended and after the cassette 3 has been removed from the pressing device 1.
  • the remaining foil bag 4 lies folded up in the area of the end face 13b of the receiving chamber 13 and on the piston 5.
  • the film bag 4 can be connected at its end on the pressing-out direction to the nozzle 7, which protrudes above the receiving chambers 13 of the cassette 3 when such a film bag 4 is inserted in the cassette 3.
  • the cassette 3 shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 can have a plurality of receiving chambers 13, in each of which a piston 5 is arranged.
  • the volume of the individual receiving chambers 13 can be of the same size or of different sizes.
  • FIG. 5 shows a further cassette 18, shown in cross section, in which a piston 16 is inserted.
  • the piston 16 has combs 16a which cooperate with corresponding trains 18a which are arranged on the inner wall 17 of the receiving chamber and extend in the longitudinal direction of the receiving chamber. By arranging such trains 18a and combs 16a, a high positional stability of the piston in the receiving chamber is achieved.
  • the piston 16 also has symmetrically designed end faces, the symmetry of which is not visible in the selected illustration.
