  • the present invention relates generally to the signaling lights of motor vehicles. It relates more particularly to lights capable of emitting colored radiation but having, when they are extinguished, an essentially colorless appearance. It may in particular be a front flashing light, disposed in the vicinity of a headlamp and for which a certain continuity of appearance is sought with said headlamp when the headlamp and the light are off.
  • One of these techniques consists in providing a translucent screen having the appropriate coloring in front of the light source and of a possible reflector, as well as a mask in front of said screen, to be formed on the external face of this mask, by for example by screen printing, opaque areas, for example reflective (obtained by depositing aluminum), and to provide on the inner side of the mask optical devices capable of concentrating the colored light having passed through the screen towards non-opacified areas, for example in the form of bands.
  • a drawback of the prior art lies in the fact that the light beam produced by the light is excessively directive along its optical axis, that is to say that the lateral visibility of the light is insufficient, until it does not conform to the photometry regulations in force.

Claims (8)

  1. Signalleuchte für Kraftfahrzeuge der Bauart mit einer Lichtquelle (10), mit Mitteln (40) zur Farbgebung des Lichts, das aus der Quelle kommt, mit einer Blende (50), die lichtundurchlässige Bereiche (51a) und durchsichtige Bereiche (52) umfaßt, die so verteilt sind, daß sie die Wahrnehmung der Farbgebungsmittel dämpfen, wenn die Leuchte von außen betrachtet wird und mit einer Scheibe (30), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie außerdem in wenigstens einem seitlichen Bereich der Blende wenigstens einen durchsichtigen farblosen Stab (55) umfaßt, der/die aus einem Stück mit der Blende gefertigt ist und sich parallel oder mit einer leichten Neigung in bezug zur Gesamtrichtung (X-X) des Lichtbündels, das aus der Blende kommt, erstreckt, wobei der Stab ein Lichtleitelement für die Strahlung bildet, die aus der Quelle in seine Richtung kommt und er eine freie geneigte Endfläche (56) aufweist, um durch Totalreflexion eine Rückstrahlung der Strahlung in eine allgemeine Richtung zu gewährleisten, die im wesentlichen quer zur Gesamtrichtung verläuft.
  2. Leuchte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Blende (50) aus einem durchsichtigen farblosen Material gefertigt ist.
  3. Leuchte nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Leuchte seitlich auf der Außenseite eines Scheinwerfers angebracht ist und daß ein durchsichtiger farbloser Stab (55) vorgesehen ist, der/die sich ausgehend von einem Seitenbereich der Blende (50) erstreckt, der sich auf der zum Scheinwerfer entgegengesetzten Seite befindet.
  4. Leuchte nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Blende (50) im Seitenbereich zurückgesetzt in bezug zu einem Übergangsbereich zwischen der Scheibe (30) und der Karosserie (C) des Fahrzeugs vorgesehen ist und daß der Stab (55) eine solche Ausdehnung nach vorne hin aufweist, daß seine geneigte Endfläche (56) sich über den Übergangsbereich hinaus befindet.
  5. Leuchte nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Leuchte seitlich auf der Außenseite eines Scheinwerfers vorgesehen ist und daß ein durchsichtiger farbloser Stab (55) vorgesehen ist, der sich ausgehend von einem Seitenbereich der Blende erstreckt, der sich auf der Seite des Scheinwerfers längs einer seitlichen Wange eines Sockels (20) befindet.
  6. Leuchte nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Stab (55) eine solche Ausdehnung nach vorne aufweist, daß die Strahlung, die aus seiner geneigten Fläche kommt, sich mit einer bestimmten Neigung (Ω) zum rückwärtigen Teil des Fahrzeugs hin ausbreiten kann.
  7. Leuchte nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zwei durchsichtige farblose Stäbe (55) vorgesehen sind, die sich ausgehend von den zwei entgegengesetzten Seitenbereichen der Blende erstrecken und horizontal verschiedene Längen besitzen.
  8. Leuchte nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der/die oder jeder/jede durchsichtige farblose Stab eine Vielzahl von geneigten Flächen (56a, 56b, 56c) aufweist die versetzt zueinander sowohl in Längs- als auch in Querrichtung des Stabs angeordnet sind.
