Definitions
- 1 consists of a flat, rectangular plate 1, nine feet 2 glued to the underside of plate 1 and three strips 3 glued to the underside of three feet each.
- the plate 1 consists of three superimposed and glued together, rectangular corrugated cardboard blanks 15, 16 and a further blank 7 as a covering (Fig. 3).
- the longitudinal direction of the middle blank 16 and the envelope blank 7 runs transversely to the longitudinal extent of the plate 1, that of the blanks 15 parallel to it.
- the blanks 15 have three shafts and about 12 mm thick, the blank 16 two shafts and about 10 mm thick.
- the envelope blank is single-shaft and only about 3 mm thick.
- the total thickness of the plate 1 is approximately 35 mm.
- the envelope blank 7 has flaps 10, 11 delimited by fold lines 9, which protrude over the edges of the blanks 15, 16, are folded up on their end faces and glued onto the underside 5 of the plate 1 ( Fig. 3).
- the entire outer surface of the plate 1 is coated. This ensures a waterproof impregnation without foreign materials.
- This type of impregnation also has the advantage that the gluing within the corrugated cardboard layers and the layers to one another is not impaired by solvents, as is the case, for example, when painting with conventional paints.
- the end faces of the plate 1 are closed, so that no water or foreign materials can penetrate into the waves of the layers 15, 16. Due to the crosswise layer structure, the plate 1 is rigid in both directions.
- a water-based varnish is also suitable as an impregnation.
- the strips 3 are constructed in the same way as the plate 1 from blanks 22, 18 (FIG. 4), except that the intermediate layer 16 is omitted here.
- the shafts 23 run lengthwise, with the single-shaft, thin envelope blanks 18 transversely.
- the folded flaps 21 of the blank 18 cover the entire top of the strip 3.
- the surface of the strips 3 is impregnated with glue in the same way.
- Fig. 5 shows a cut 28 for a foot 2. It is double-shafted and rectangular and has at one end a separating cut 29 for separating a section 30 and eight fold lines 32.
- the waves 33 run transversely to the longitudinal extent of the cut 28. In the middle of the Section 30 and the adjacent section there are incisions 31 up to half the width of the blank 28.
- Fig. 6 shows an end view of the folded foot.
- the last section and the inserted section 30 serve as diagonal stiffening.
- the walls of the foot 2 are glued all around in two layers.
- the feet 2 are also impregnated with glue.
- the pallet described is robust and waterproof and can be built with the existing standard dimensions, for example as a Euro pallet with the dimensions 120 cm x 80 cm or 60 cm x 80 cm.
- the pallet is sorted by type and consists exclusively of paper and glue. This means that it can be easily recycled and recycled. With a weight of approx. 12 kg (at 120 x 80 cm), the pallet is much lighter than corresponding wooden pallets, which weigh around 25 kg. This considerably simplifies the handling of empty pallets. Because of its robustness, the pallet can be used as a reusable pallet.
- the plate 1 can also e.g. be hexagonal.
- FIGS. 7 to 9 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 to 6 in the construction of the plate 1, the feet 2 and the strips 3.
- the plate 1 has a centrally arranged blank 51 made of gray cardboard and on both sides of it a total of three alternately stacked single-shaft blanks 15, 16.
- the casing consists of two inner, half of the top and bottom and the narrow end faces covering, rectangular blanks 52 made of gray cardboard and an outer, rectangular blank 53 made of single-wall corrugated cardboard, which is continuous on the upper side 4, envelops the long end faces, and its narrow edges abut one another in the center on the underside.
- This design of the plate 1 has the advantages over that according to FIGS. 1 and 3 that it is more impact-resistant against lateral bumps and puncture-resistant against pointed objects because of the solid cardboard layers.
- the rectangular blanks 52, 53 only have parallel fold lines and are easier to manufacture.
- the bar 3 according to FIG. 9 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 and 4 in that it is constructed similarly to the plate 1 according to FIG. 7, except that all corrugated cardboard layers have longitudinal waves.
- the outer envelope blank 62 made of single-wall corrugated cardboard is overlapped over the entire surface.
- the gray cardboard layers 60, 61 also increase the impact resistance.
- the ends of the envelope blank 62 are expediently squeezed flat during the gluing in order to close the shafts of this blank on the end face.
- the cross section of the strip 3 according to FIG. 9 is trapezoidal. This has the advantage that the bar 3 can be easily run over by the rollers of a pallet truck.
- the plate 1 according to FIGS. 10 and 11 consists of a core 70 made of glued, single-shaft, single-sided corrugated cardboard 71, the waves of which run perpendicular to the plane of the plate, that is to the upper side 4 and lower side 5, and a casing 52, 53, which has the same structure like the envelope 52, 53 of the embodiment according to FIG. 7.
- the corrugated cardboard 71 of the core 70 can consist of 100% waste paper. It can also be impregnated with a flame-retardant and / or with a water-repellent agent. It is expedient to first produce it as a large block and then saw it into slices according to the required core thickness, e.g. using a band saw.
- the core structure according to FIGS. 10 and 11 is also suitable as an insert for the feet 2, in that in the embodiment according to FIG. 8 the blank 28 is replaced by a core accordingly the core 70 in Figs. 10 and 11.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 12 is mainly intended for inexpensive disposable pallets.
- a gray cardboard 75 is glued to the top and bottom of the core 70.
- the end faces of the core 70 are not covered.
- the strips 3 can either be of the same design as in the embodiment according to FIG. 9, or they can also have the honeycomb structure according to FIG. 10.
- the strips 3 preferably have the trapezoidal cross section according to FIG. 9.
- the cardboard sandwich structure according to Fig. 12 is also suitable for other applications, e.g. for stable cardboard boxes.
- the envelope blanks 75 can also both consist of corrugated cardboard.
- These sandwich panels with a honeycomb core have high strength and rigidity at a low weight.
- the honeycomb core 70 offers good protection against impacts because it forms a crumple zone.
- a further embodiment of the strip 3 is shown in perspective in its individual parts in FIG.
- the core 80 of the strip 3 is constructed identically to the core 70 of the plate 1 according to FIGS. 10, 11 and 12, that is to say with waves which all run perpendicular to the plane of the plate. It has a trapezoidal cross section.
- a gray cardboard blank 81, 82 is glued onto the core 80 from above and from below.
- To the two Narrow sides and the end faces of the core 80 and the cuts 81, 82 are strips 83, 84 glued from gray cardboard. So the whole core 80 is edged with gray cardboard.
- a blank 85 of kraft paper is first folded around each of the two end faces and glued on. Finally, the top and bottom as well as the narrow sides are bordered with two rectangular kraft paper blanks 86. The end faces are then expediently immersed in a relatively viscous glue bath with waterproof glue. This seals the two short front edges.
- the plate 1 according to FIG. 14 is constructed in the same way as the strip 3 according to FIG. 13: the plate core 70 is the same as that according to FIGS. 10-12.
- a gray cardboard blank 75 is glued onto this core 70 on both sides.
- strips 90, 91 made of gray cardboard are glued onto all end faces of core 70 and blanks 75. This means that the entire core 70 is edged with gray cardboard.
- the envelope is completed by four glued, rectangular kraft paper blanks 92, 93, which envelop the longitudinal edges 95 and the wide edges 96 and each cover half of the top and bottom.
- the grain direction 94 of the blanks 92, 93 intersect.
- the kraft paper of the blanks 92, 93 has a relatively high cellulose content of 70-90 percent and a basis weight of about 0.3 kg per m2. It has a high tensile strength. For plate 1 according to FIG. 14, this results in a high bending strength with low weight.
- the pallet with the plate 1 according to FIG. 14, the feet 2 according to FIG. 8 and the strips 3 according to FIG. 13 is preferably also impregnated with a waterproof glue or a water-based varnish. With approximately the same weight, it has a higher load capacity and impact resistance than the pallet according to FIGS. 1-6.
- FIG 16 the manufacture of the core 70 or 80 for the plate 1 according to Figures 10 and 11 or 12 or 14 and for the bar 3 according to Figure 13 is shown schematically.
- the block 100 is then sawn into slices 101.
- a thin wire 102 for example 0.5 mm in diameter, which is coated with adhesive grains, preferably with diamond, is used, which is guided over two deflection rollers 103, 104.
- One roller 104 is driven by a motor 105.
- the section strand 106 of the wire 102 is perpendicular to the shaft direction 107 of the corrugated cardboard blanks and perpendicular to the feed direction 108 of a slide 109 on which the block 101 is clamped.
Abstract
Description
It has been proposed several times to produce pallets from corrugated cardboard. Such a proposal is e.g. contained in EP-A-283 799. However, such pallets have not yet proven themselves in practice, either because they are not stable enough or, e.g. those according to EP-A-283 799, dimensions which do not correspond to the standard.
The present invention has for its object to form a pallet from cardboard in such a way that it is stable and can also be produced in standard dimensions. This object is achieved by the combination of features of the claims.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the
The
Fig. 5 zeigt einen Zuschnitt 28 für einen Fuss 2. Fig. 5 shows a
Fig. 6 zeigt eine Stirnansicht des gefalteten Fusses. Fig. 6 shows an end view of the folded foot. The last section and the inserted
The pallet described is robust and waterproof and can be built with the existing standard dimensions, for example as a Euro pallet with the dimensions 120 cm x 80 cm or 60 cm x 80 cm. The pallet is sorted by type and consists exclusively of paper and glue.
For special applications, the
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 7 to 9, analog parts are provided with the same reference symbols, so that a detailed description of these parts is unnecessary. The embodiment according to FIGS. 7 to 9 differs from that according to FIGS. 1 to 6 in the construction of the
According to FIG. 7, the
This design of the
The foot according to FIG. 8 differs from that according to FIG. 6 in that the blank 28 only overlaps on one narrow side and that it additionally contains a blank 56 made of gray cardboard, which likewise increases the impact resistance. Experiments have shown that the blank 28 can simply be inserted into the glued envelope blank 56 in the form shown in FIG. 8 without being glued. The gluing of the
The
The
It has been shown that with the plate structure according to FIGS. 10 and 11, in which the core 70 acts like a honeycomb structure, a very high bending strength can be achieved with less weight than in the embodiment according to FIG. 7. In addition, the embodiment according to FIGS. 10 and 11 can be produced even more cost-effectively.
The core structure according to FIGS. 10 and 11 is also suitable as an insert for the
The embodiment according to FIG. 12 is mainly intended for inexpensive disposable pallets. Here, only a
The cardboard sandwich structure according to Fig. 12 is also suitable for other applications, e.g. for stable cardboard boxes. In this application, the
A further embodiment of the
The
In Figure 16, the manufacture of the core 70 or 80 for the
This type of core production is very efficient. The thin, diamond-coated
