Description

The invention relates to a warhead with a tandem charge according to the preamble of claim 1. A warhead with a tandem charge according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US-A-5 107 766.

A second warhead with a tandem charge is known from US Pat. No. 4,803,928. In a housing there are target detectors for impact or proximity, a drilling charge according to the hollow charge principle, a guide housing for an axially guided additional charge arranged therein, a propellant charge for the additional charge and ignition means for triggering the borehole charge and the additional charge. The guide housing for the refill charge with the propellant charge is pressure-resistant due to the high pressure of the propellant charge and is therefore equipped with a relatively large weight. This warhead is therefore suitable for the destruction of aircraft runways in that the drilling charge creates a hole in the concrete slab, into which the additional charge penetrates and detonates in the hole.

Furthermore, a warhead against aircraft is known from DE-C1 26 29 280, which are housed in shelters. This warhead has a structure which is fundamentally similar to that described in US Pat. No. 4,803,928. However, the refill charge, which is driven by a partial charge, is designed as a fragmentary projectile to increase the probability of being hit.

The known warheads are not suitable for combat areas and shelters behind barricades, since the barricades made of heterogeneous material are penetrated, but due to the high kinetic energy of the warhead, the triggering does not take place or takes place too late.
Due to the new target criterion, which represents a barricade, it is obvious to implement the sensor technology of the detonator accordingly. This then leads to the unsatisfactory partial result that, although the barricade is perforated by the shaped charge, the additional charge does not take effect due to its post-acceleration.

Therefore, it is the object of the invention to create a projectile to combat the opponent in cover, whereby cover means house walls, barricades and protective walls.

Die Erfindung löst diese Aufgabe gemäß den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruches 1.The invention solves this problem according to the characterizing features of claim 1.

Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen sind den Unteransprüchen zu entnehmen.Advantageous further developments can be found in the subclaims.

With a caliber of 90 mm for the warhead, the shaped charge hits a channel with a diameter of approx. 50 - 60 mm through the target. The fragmentary bullet penetrates the target through this channel and detonates approx. 0.5 - 2.5 meters behind the target with a large fragmentation effect in the adjacent effective area. It is essential that, due to its inertia when the warhead strikes the target, the additional charge continues on its way almost unchecked by the detonation of the shaped charge. A separate acceleration charge for the additional charge is therefore not necessary. This measure according to the invention enables the additional charge to be loaded in a simple manner to bring them into the intended area of action - without additional mechanical or pyrotechnical effort.

According to claim 2, the warhead is universal for both hard targets. B. masonry can also be used for non-hard targets such as sandbags or earth layers.

An inexpensive warhead equipped with little weight is present according to claim 3. This allows the warhead to be launched from mechanized launchers as well as from the shoulder using a bazooka.

An inexpensive insert for the shaped charge is given according to claim 4.

Figure imgb0001

A warhead 1 consists of an axially extendable detonator 2 of a ballistic hood 3, a cylindrical jacket 4 with a cone 5 on the rear side and a pick-up sleeve 6,
a hollow charge 10 with a safety device 11, an additional charge 20 with a guide tube 21 and a support collar 22, as well as a perforated plate 23 and a safety device 25 integrated at the rear in the additional charge 20 with a pyrotechnic delay detonator 28.
The igniter 2 has two sensors in a manner not shown. One sensor is used as a piezo sensor for hard targets. B. masonry and the other sensor is for non-hard targets such. B. designed for sandbags, earth, wood. In the transport position, the sensor according to FIG. 2 is arranged sunk in the ballistic hood 3. In the event of a battle, the sensor according to FIG. 1 is fixed in the working position. A proximity fuse can also be provided.

The shaped charge 10 consists of a separate housing 12 which is fixedly connected to the jacket 4 via a coupling ring 13. The safety device 11, an explosive charge 14 and a flat cone insert 15 made of aluminum are fastened in the shaped charge housing 12.

The additional charge 20 consists of a fragment shell 26 and of explosive 27 and the safety device 25.

According to FIG. 2, the warhead 1 according to FIG. 1 is adapted to a rocket-propelled grenade 30 that can be fired from a frame 29. The bazooka grenade 30 has a rocket engine 31 and fold-out wings 32.

According to FIG. 3, a further grenade 40 has the warhead 1 with wings 32 and rocket engine 31.

When the warhead 1 is fired with the grenade 40, the grenade 40 is accelerated to a departure speed of approximately 270 m / s.

After a flight distance of five meters, the safety device 11 unlocks, so that the shaped charge 10 with the additional charge 20 are ready to fire.

When the warhead 1 strikes a target 50, the detonator 2 sends an ignition pulse to the safety device 11. This ignites the shaped charge 10 by the explosive 14 reshaping the insert 15 into a spike (not shown). With a caliber of 90 mm of hollow charge 10, this spike penetrates target 50 with a spike tip speed of approx. 6000 m / s and creates a channel 51 in the target
50 to 60 mm in diameter. The refill charge 20 penetrates the target through this channel and detonates at 52 approximately 0.5 to 2.5 meters behind the target with a large splintering effect in the adjacent area. To initiate the additional charge 20, the delay detonator 28 of the additional charge 20 is ignited simultaneously with the ignition of the shaped charge 10. This delay detonator 28 ignites the post-charge 20 approximately 12 ms later.

Both when the warhead 1 hits the target 50 at right angles and at an angle, the following breakdown capacities with a splintering effect of the additional charge 20 are achieved:
Concrete walls, penetration approx. 40 cm
Brick walls, penetration approx. 50 cm
Wood, breakdown capacity approx. 60 to 80 cm
Sandbags, breakdown capacity approx. 50 to 70 cm.

When the wall is opened, the effect is present in the target by detonating the shaped charge 10 in space.

The warhead 1 can be used universally. It can be used on gun ammunition or missiles, e.g. on a guided anti-tank missile like MILAN.
