- the emission of the dose caused by the actuation of the pump is accompanied by a corresponding flattening of the tube, under the combined effect of the atmospheric pressure prevailing around the deformable reservoir and the depression created by the pump. inside the deformable tank.
- This type of distributor has other advantages.
- the product can be stored in the tank away from air, which eliminates the risks of its oxidation or contamination.
- the dispenser also works regardless of its position relative to the vertical.
- Distributors are also known having a double-walled tank with a flexible internal wall and a rigid external wall, which are produced by co-extrusion blowing of the two walls, and welding by simultaneous pinching of the bottom of the two walls, the welding of the rigid outer wall being non-airtight to allow the entry of air between the two walls.
- Such a distributor must be produced according to a very delicate process to master, since the two walls must not be welded to each other during blowing, and the welding of the bottom of the external wall is not waterproof while the weld at the bottom of the internal wall must be waterproof.
- the materials that can be used for the inner and outer walls are very limited.
- the co-extrusion process generally involves blowing air between the two walls after they have been put in place. shape to peel them off from each other: this increases the cost of implementing the process.
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a pump without air intake, mounted in leaktight manner on a deformable reservoir, and an outer envelope which surrounds the deformable reservoir and which retains a shape suitable for gripping throughout the duration of use of the dispenser, said outer envelope defining an interior volume which communicates with the atmosphere by at least one air passage, the deformable reservoir being a flexible tube which extends between a first end closed by pinching to form a bottom and a second end secured to the pump, characterized in that the outer casing is a flexible tube extending between a first end close to the bottom of the reservoir, and a second end in mechanical connection with the second end of the deformable reservoir, the first end of the outer casing being closed by pinching.

- the second end of the deformable reservoir is secured to a substantially rigid nozzle in which the pump is mounted, said nozzle comprising at least one external shoulder, the second end of the external envelope comprising a neck engaged on said shoulder.
- said air passage is located between said neck and said shoulder, which are in leaktight contact against each other.
- the outer envelope may be transparent and / or bear signs.
- the device according to the invention comprises a deformable inner tube 20, and a flexible outer tube 30.
- the two tubes 20 and 30 are concentric, as can be seen in FIG. 1a.
- the tube 20 can be made of single or multi-layer plastic material, of metal, in particular of low aluminum thickness, or in multilayer material with one or more layers of metal (aluminum for example) and one or more layers of plastic.
- the inner tube 20 is preferably plastically deformable, that is to say without shape memory or with a weak shape memory, but the invention is not limited as to the mode of deformation of the tube 20, provided that it can be flattened under the effect of the suction of the pump 10.
- the outer tube 30 can be made of any flexible material, for example in a plastic material such as polyethylene.
- the outer tube 30 can be transparent, which makes it possible to view the filling rate of the inner tube 20, during use or when purchasing the device.
- the outer tube 30 may possibly be less deformable than the inner tube 20 in order to facilitate gripping, but in all cases, it is essential that the tube 30 be flexible for reasons which relate to the method of manufacturing the device according to the invention, described below.
- the tube 30 has a memory of elastic shape allowing it to regain its initial shape after having been deformed by gripping the use.
- the tubes 20 and 30 each extend between a lower end, 20a and 30a respectively, and an upper extremity, 20b and 30b respectively.
- the terms "lower” and “upper”, as used herein, are not limiting, but only indicate the position of the ends in Figures 1 and 2, for clarity.
- the tubes 20 and 30 are welded together by pinching at their lower ends 20a and 30a, thereby forming a bottom 33 of the tank.
- the upper end 20a of the inner tube 30 has a more rigid end piece 21.
- the end piece 21 can be formed in one piece with the tube 20, the rigidity of the end piece being simply obtained by a greater thickness of material.
- the end piece 21 can also be an insert on the tube 20 by welding or a molded part at the upper end 20a of the tube 20, the tube 20 can then be simply obtained by extruding a tube and cutting this tube to predetermined intervals before attachment to the end piece 21.
- the end piece 21 is cylindrical, with an outer diameter reducing twice so that two shoulders 21a and 21b are defined.
- a cover 50 is fitted outwardly on the part of the endpiece extending between the two shoulders.
- a pump 10, shown in side view in the figures, adapts internally to the nozzle 21.
- the pump 10 operates without air intake, that is to say without sending air into the tube 20 during that it empties.
- the corresponding subjection is carried out at the level a turn that the pump has between its body 11 and its actuating rod 12.
- An annular rim 13 of the spinner is for example clamped between two beads 23h and 23b projecting internally on the end piece 21 for a sealed connection.
- a push button 40 is in this embodiment engaged by means of an inner sleeve 42 on the rod 12 for actuating the pump 10. It may include a lateral outlet 43 while its lateral wall 41 is for example adapted to slide inside the nozzle 21.
- the pump could be tightly fixed to the nozzle 21 by any other known means: force fitting, crimping, overmolding of the nozzle 21 on the pump body, etc. ..
- the upper end 30a of the outer tube 30 has a relatively rigid neck 31 which throttles the tube.
- Figure 3 shows in more detail this neck 31 and the way in which it collaborates with the end piece 21. It simply applies to the lower shoulder of this end piece 21, enclosing the latter.
- the connection thus produced is not leaktight and leaves an air passage 36. This keeps the intermediate space 32 between the two tubes at atmospheric pressure. Therefore, it is possible to dispense the product 22 contained in the inner tube 20 by actuation of the pump. This determines each time an additional flattening of the inner tube 20 which takes the typical shape shown in particular in Figures 2 and la.
- the outer tube 30 does not undergo this deformation. It keeps from one end to the other of the use of the dispenser a bulging shape, better suited to gripping.
- the outer tube 30 with its neck 31 is manufactured separately. It is advantageously made of polyethylene which is flexible enough to lend itself to the pinching necessary for welding the bottom 33, but also rigid enough to offer a good grip to the user. In some cases, it may be advantageous to keep a translucent or transparent polyethylene in order to allow, for example, the verification of the quantity of product remaining in the inner tube 20. In other cases, on the contrary, the outer tube 30 preferably carries signs (brand reproduction, decoration etc.). Therefore, the method for applying these signs can be chosen without fear of damaging the pump in particular. In addition, the screen printing methods commonly used for decorating tubes have a fairly high reject rate which can reach 6%. By performing the screen printing on the outer tube 30, it avoids throwing 6% of the pumps mounted on the inner tubes 20, which represents a significant gain.
- the neck 31 can be urged against the shoulder 21a during welding, in order to create a prestress which promotes an assembly without play of the two tubes 20 and 30.
- the respective ends 20a and 30a of the tubes 20 and 30 can be welded separately. This can be advantageous in particular if the welding conditions of the two tubes 20 and 30 are too different, preventing them from being welded together by pinching.
- a wider variety of materials can be used for the tubes 20 and 30.
- a bottom 33b is first welded to the end 20a of the inner tube 20 and then a bottom 33a is welded to the end 30a of the outer tube 30.
- the bottom 33a is welded in the immediate vicinity of the bottom 33b, to avoid play in the assembly between the tubes 20 and 30.
- the neck 31 can be biased against the shoulder 21a during welding of the bottom 33a, in order to create a prestress which favors an assembly without play of the two tubes 20 and 30.
- the tubes 20 and 30 are integral with the end piece 21 by their respective ends 20b and 30b.
- the tubes 20 and 30 can be formed in one piece with the end piece 21, or they can be fixed to the end piece 21: for example, the ends 20b and 30b can be fixed to the end piece 21 by welding, or the end piece 21 can be molded onto the ends 20b and 30b.
- the ends 20a and 30a can be welded together or separately, as seen previously.
- an air inlet orifice 34 is drilled in the outer tube 30.
- a needle is introduced into the end 30a of the tube 30, outside the tube 20, before the bottom 33 is welded. When welding, the two pinched edges of the end 30a are not welded together at the location of the needle. After withdrawal of the needle, there remains an orifice 32 for air intake.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fluid dispenser, and its manufacturing process.
To dispense fluid products in small predetermined doses, in particular pasty products such as pasta or creams, it is known to use manual pumps of the type used on vaporizers and more particularly precompression pumps. Patent EP 0 251 863 filed in 1987 by the company VALOIS teaches to associate them with a reservoir of deformable product such as for example a plastic tube. As long as the pump is mounted in a sealed manner on this tank, it is then possible to exhaust practically all of the contents of the tank. Indeed, the emission of the dose caused by the actuation of the pump is accompanied by a corresponding flattening of the tube, under the combined effect of the atmospheric pressure prevailing around the deformable reservoir and the depression created by the pump. inside the deformable tank.
This type of distributor has other advantages. In particular, the product can be stored in the tank away from air, which eliminates the risks of its oxidation or contamination. The dispenser also works regardless of its position relative to the vertical.
However, when the tank is partially exhausted, the tube takes a flattened shape which is difficult to have on hand. The actuation of the pump by pressing a finger on the dispensing head becomes difficult.
One can think of placing around the deformable reservoir a more rigid envelope capable of keeping the distributor a constant external shape, as in the distributors with double envelope such as those described in US Pat. No. 4,322,020 filed in 1980 by STONE. The latter are however relatively delicate to manufacture.
Distributors are also known having a double-walled tank with a flexible internal wall and a rigid external wall, which are produced by co-extrusion blowing of the two walls, and welding by simultaneous pinching of the bottom of the two walls, the welding of the rigid outer wall being non-airtight to allow the entry of air between the two walls. Such a distributor must be produced according to a very delicate process to master, since the two walls must not be welded to each other during blowing, and the welding of the bottom of the external wall is not waterproof while the weld at the bottom of the internal wall must be waterproof. In addition, the materials that can be used for the inner and outer walls are very limited. Finally, the co-extrusion process generally involves blowing air between the two walls after they have been put in place. shape to peel them off from each other: this increases the cost of implementing the process.
The present invention relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a pump without air intake, mounted in leaktight manner on a deformable reservoir, and an outer envelope which surrounds the deformable reservoir and which retains a shape suitable for gripping throughout the duration of use of the dispenser, said outer envelope defining an interior volume which communicates with the atmosphere by at least one air passage, the deformable reservoir being a flexible tube which extends between a first end closed by pinching to form a bottom and a second end secured to the pump,
characterized in that the outer casing is a flexible tube extending between a first end close to the bottom of the reservoir, and a second end in mechanical connection with the second end of the deformable reservoir, the first end of the outer casing being closed by pinching. Advantageously, the first end of the outer envelope is welded by pinching. Advantageously, the outer envelope is formed from a material having a memory of elastic shape sufficient for said envelope to return to its initial shape after having been deformed by the grip of a user.
According to one embodiment, the second end of the deformable reservoir is secured to a substantially rigid nozzle in which the pump is mounted, said nozzle comprising at least one external shoulder, the second end of the external envelope comprising a neck engaged on said shoulder. Advantageously, said air passage is located between said neck and said shoulder, which are in leaktight contact against each other.
- 1) engagement of the pump-reservoir assembly by the first end of the envelope until the pump emerges from the neck of the envelope,
- 2 °) filling of the reservoir by its first end,
- 3) simultaneously closing the first end of the tank and the first end of the envelope by pinching.
According to another embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention, the second end of the deformable reservoir and the second end of the outer casing are integral with a substantially rigid nozzle in which the pump is mounted. In this embodiment, the dispenser can be manufactured by a process comprising the steps of:
- 1) filling of the tank by its first end,
- 2) simultaneously closing the first end of the tank and the first end of the envelope by pinching.
or the steps of:
- 1) filling of the tank by its first end,
- 2) closing the first end of the tank, then
- 3) closing the first end of the outer envelope.
The outer envelope may be transparent and / or bear signs.

- the figure 1a is a sectional view along line AA of FIG. 1,
- FIG. 2 shows a second longitudinal section of the dispenser of FIG. 1 along the line II-II of FIG. 1,

- FIG. 9 is a detailed view of a variant of the device in FIG. 8.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, the device according to the invention comprises a deformable
The
The
The
In practice, the
- 1) first of all a pump 10 -
tube 20 assembly is engaged in anouter tube 30 as described above. According to the diagram of Figure 4 we introduce the assembly by the end 30adu of theouter tube 30, then thenozzle 21 is passed through theneck 31. This assembly is rather carried out at the manufacturer of distributors. The latter can then proceed to assemble thepush button 40 and thecover 50. In this way, the manufacturer of the product in which the filling of the dispenser is usually carried out, is he freed from the operations of handling always delicate parts . - 2) The filling then takes place through the
end 20a of thetube 20 left open for this purpose. For this, aninjector 60 can for example be introduced within theinner tube 20 to the immediate surroundings of thepump 10. As it delivers theproduct 22, theinjector 60 is advantageously reassembled so that its end remains above the product. This method shown diagrammatically in FIG. 5 prevents air from remaining trapped in the product. - 3) finally the bottom 33 of the two
20 and 30 is welded in a single operation. The diagram of FIG. 6 concretizes this operation by the application oftubes jaws 70 on either side of the tubes. Depending on their material, the welding is carried out by heating, ultrasound, etc. If necessary, if the two tubes do not initially have comparable lengths, a leveling cut can then be made unless it was not made before the end of the operation 1) of engagement of the tubes one in the other. Vacuum welding methods such as that described in patent FR 2 633 249 can also be implemented so that there is no air remaining in theinner tube 20 after it has been closed.
According to another variant, shown in FIG. 8, the
