Description

The present invention relates to a road safety barrier intended to ensure the road safety of motor vehicles on road axes and to avoid their departure from the road as well as a method of mounting said barrier.

Un exemple de ce type de glissière est plus particulièrement décrit dans le brevet FR-2 641 804.Safety barriers which consist of metal profiles assembled by partial overlapping and bolting and supported from place to place by vertical posts, the profile having a central groove whose wings are extended by lateral ribs serving as stiffeners forming a relief on the side of the roadway and having their outer side folded in the direction of the vertical post are known. An example of this type of slide is more particularly described in patent FR-2,641,804.

Wood metal safety barriers are also known in which the metal elements serve as a connection to the elements of the wooden heald. These metallic elements can be constituted either by fishplates housed in recesses formed at the ends of the elements of the wooden heald as described for example by patents FR-2 658 214 and EP-A-0 184 525, or by metal plates which are arranged at the junction of two adjacent heald elements and allow the heald / vertical post connection in accordance with what is described in particular in patent FR-2 650 010. In the case of this device, it is necessary to have bolts in a substantially vertical plane and, because of the specific shape of the plate, have a flat in the area of attachment to the vertical post. Therefore, we do not take advantage of all the elasticity characteristics of the wood forming the heddle and there is a drawback common to all the systems described above, a drawback which lies in the fact that the metallic structure is apparent.

This cellular element absorbs punctually in a non-significant way the shock wave which is transmitted directly to the metal beam which will break under the effect of a violent shock due to the fact that it benefits from no protective element.

The object of the present invention is to provide a safety barrier which, while having the advantages linked to the use of a heald with circular section, can be installed on road axes where the authorized speed is relatively high due to its particular architecture which gives it exceptional impact resistance and solidity without compromising its aesthetic appearance.

Another object of the invention is to propose a method of mounting the slide which is simple, easy and quick to implement so as to allow easy replacement of a heald member or the installation of slideways over a distance. important in a minimum of time.

The present invention relates for this purpose to a road safety barrier made up of assembled metal profiles by partial overlapping and bolting and supported from place to place by vertical posts, the profile having a central groove, characterized in that the central groove of the profile is substantially identical to the profile of a horizontal heald formed of wooden heald elements placed end to end, and coming to bear at the bottom of said central groove and said central groove is extended on its two edges by a flange serving in particular as a stiffener folded back from said profile.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the heald elements project respectively above and below the profile so as to hide it.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the metal profiles are secured to the vertical posts by fixing means ensuring that the assembly is held at any height on the post. These fixing means are in particular constituted by a clamping collar secured directly or not to the metal profiles.

The invention also relates to a method of mounting a safety barrier, characterized in that the metal profiles are placed on the ground by partially superimposing them, in that the central groove of said profiles is used as the guide rail of the wheel of a pile driving machine, in that there is a vertical post facing each zone of overlapping of the sections, in that the metal sections are fixed on said posts and in that the elements are secured from the wood beam to the metal beam.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent on reading the following description and the accompanying drawings, which description and drawings are given mainly by way of examples. In these drawings:
  • Figure 1 shows an exploded perspective view of a slide according to the invention;
  • 2 shows an exploded perspective view of another embodiment of the crash barrier according to the invention;
  • Figure 3 shows in a perspective view a variant in which the safety barrier is double;
  • Figure 4 shows a top view of the slide of Figure 3;
  • Figure 5 shows a side view of the slide according to the invention.

In accordance with FIGS. 1, 2 and 5, the road safety barrier, object of the invention, consists of metal sections 2 assembled by partial covering and bolting and supported from place to place preferably at their overlap zone by vertical posts 8. The metal sections 2 have, in a manner known per se, a central groove 2a whose edges are extended by a flange 2b serving as a stiffener folded back towards the rear of the section in the direction of the vertical post 8. To these metal sections 2 is associated with a continuous wooden heald 1 formed of heald elements placed end to end as shown in FIG. 1. These heald elements can have any shape but they will preferably have a circular section because of the advantages inherent in such a configuration (significant bending and twisting moments). Likewise, these heald elements, although they may be of any material, will preferably be made of wood because of the elasticity characteristics of the wood which enhance the advantage of the configuration chosen. Indeed, according to the main characteristic of the invention, the central groove 2a of the profile 2 is substantially identical to the profile of the heald elements 1 as shown in FIG. 5 so that the heald elements are covered over the entire length of their rear side face by the metal profiles and in fact come to bear at the bottom of said groove. This complementarity of the profiles can be translated in accordance with FIG. 5 by an identical radius of curvature of the bottom of the central groove 2a and of the heald element 1 when working with healds of circular section. Obviously any other form of smooth and therefore groove central 2a can be considered. Thanks to this characteristic, a slide is obtained, the solidity and resistance characteristics of which allow it to be installed along road axes for which the maximum authorized speed is important. In addition, despite this significant solidity of the slide, the aesthetic appearance of the product is not overlooked since the heald elements have an upper and lower part projecting respectively above and below the horizontal planes XX 'and YY' substantially tangent to the outer flank 2c of the edges 2b of the profile 2 so that the profile 2 is completely masked by the horizontal rail 1.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the adjacent ends of the elements of the wooden stringer 1 are arranged opposite a vertical post 8 and are provided with at least one through bore 5 preferably arranged in the diametrical plane horizontal of the heald 1. So that the end of the bolt intended to be inserted inside this bore 5 during the mounting of the slide does not constitute a hooking or retaining element in the event of impact, it is provided a reservation (not shown) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the heald 1 and over its entire length. This reservation is very discreet and absolutely does not harm the aesthetics of the whole.

To allow the fixing of the metal sections 2 and of the arm 1 on the vertical post 8, fixing means are used which allow the fixing of the assembly at any height on the vertical post 8. To allow this adjustment in height, use is therefore preferably made of a fixing means consisting of a clamp 4 which is either directly fixed to the metal profiles 2, or mounted integral with an intermediate metal profile 3 itself secured to the profiles 2 by bolting. These constructive solutions are represented in FIGS. 1 and 2. Thus, in FIG. 1, the clamp 4 is welded to a metal profile 3 whose profile in cross section is identical to that of the profile 2 and whose length is substantially equal to the length of the overlapping area of the metal profiles 2. This gives increased strength of the assembly due to this triple thickness of material. Profile 3 and profiles 2 are joined together by bolting. This is why, we note the presence of two series of three through bores at the ends of the sections 2 and two oblong slots (10) on either side of the welding of the collar 4 on the section 3. In FIG. 2, another embodiment of the clamp collar 4 is shown. This is directly mounted on the profiles 2 by means of a bolt which passes through a through bore 11 of the clamp collar and an oblong slot in the profiles 2.

To carry out the assembly of the assembly, one generally proceeds as follows. The metal profiles are placed on the ground by partially superimposing them at their end, the central groove is used as a guide rail for the wheel of a pile-driving machine, there is a vertical post at each superposition zone profiles which constitutes a benchmark, the metal profiles are fixed on said posts, the elements of the wooden rail are joined to the metal rail.

In this assembly, no dimensioning is necessary, which allows easy and rapid assembly. The invention described applies to safety barriers but also to any barrier intended to delimit the perimeter of a place.

In the example of FIG. 1, the ends of the metal profiles 2 are equipped with two series of three through bores, each of the series being arranged opposite a heald element and the central bore 7 of said series is intended to receive a bolt which secures the smooth wood by crossing the bore 5, the profiles 2 by the bore 7 and the collar 4 by crossing the light disposed on the profile 3. The bores 6 of the profile 2 arranged on either side of the bore 7 are used as desired to secure the profiles together. Obviously all these fixing means are only cited by way of non-limiting example.

Dans ce cas, il est nécessaire de fixer le collier de serrage 4 conformément à la figure 4.FIG. 3 represents a variant in which the slide is double, that is to say, arranged on either side of the vertical post 8. In this case, it is necessary to fix the clamp 4 in accordance with the figure 4.
