Definitions
- the invention is in the field of waste containers and relates more particularly to foldable cardboard boxes.
- the present invention proposes to improve this type of embodiment and relates to a waste container consisting of cardboard, of generally parallelepiped shape, according to the first part of claim 1.
- all of the upper flaps of the carton extend to the opposite side of the carton and are provided with means of attachment thereto.
- a locking device makes it possible to block the flaps when the container is full and must be handled.
- Figure 1 is a top view of the cutting to achieve to obtain a carton according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a view of the carton as it stands, in perspective, during the introduction of waste.
- FIG. 3 is a partial sectional view along line III-III of the carton of FIG. 2.
- FIG. 4 is a partial sectional view along line IV-IV of the carton of FIG. 2.
- Figure 5 is a cross section corresponding to the view of Figure 4, in the closed position of the carton, once all the waste is enclosed in an inner protective envelope.
- the cutout 100 shown in FIG. 1 in plan is intended for making tubular cardboard having a substantially square section. It thus has four sides 1 to 4, as well as a lateral closure strip 5, separated by vertical fold lines 11 to 14, shown in dotted lines, constituting edges between the faces 1 to 4. Down the sides 1 to 4 are terminated by four lower flaps 21 to 24, separated by slots 25 to 27 and situated beyond horizontal fold lines 31 to 34.
- the lower flaps 21 to 24 are generally square, which allows them to be superimposed when the cardboard is assembled, so as to create an even more solid base.
- Horizontal fold lines 41 to 44 are produced at the top of the sides 1 to 4 and are shown in dashed lines in the drawing and constituting the edges between the faces and the top of the container. It will be noted that the fold lines 31 to 34 and 41 to 44 are not located on the same straight line, since the drawing has been shown with exaggeration the need to have differences in fold heights to compensate for the thickness of the folded flaps previously.
- cutouts 411 and 412 are provided, intended to make slits in this edge once the flap 51 is folded along the fold line 41.
- Each slot 421 (or 431) defines a flange 422 (or 432) in the center of the face 2 (or 3) of the cardboard box.
- Each slot is extended downwards at its ends by two rounded clearances 423 and 424 (or 433 and 434). In its central part, each slot opens onto a semi-circular cut 425 (or 435). The usefulness of these details will be mentioned in the description of the carton closure process.
- a pre-perforation line 441 defining a tongue 442, which can be detached and folded parallel to the fold 44 along a line 443.
- a cutout semi-circular 445 makes it easier to detach the tab.
- Two slots 446 and 447 are provided along the fold line 44, on either side of the tongue 442.
- the flap 51 has a central opening 511 having a generally octagonal shape.
- the two free sides of the flap 51 have adhesive strips 512 and 513, covered with protective strips as long as they are not used to hold the top of the plastic bag during its filling.
- a lateral clearance 514 is provided for reasons explained in the remainder of this description.
- the flap 51 also comprises, below a fold line 61 parallel to the lines 31 and 41 already mentioned, a closure and support tongue 71. More precisely, this tongue 71 has a central part 711 projecting between two rounded cutouts 712 and 713, the usefulness of which will be mentioned later.
- the flap 52 is full. It comprises upwards a central closing tab 72 with a width less than the distance between the slots 446 and 447 described above. At the center of the tongue 72, at a fold 62, a slot 721 is provided to receive the tongue 442 detachable from the side 4. A semi-circular opening 722 opens in the flap 52.
- the flap 53 is full and has a lateral clearance 531, for reasons explained in the remainder of this description.
- the flap 53 ends outwards with two tabs 731 and 732 sized for be forced into the slots 411 and 412 already mentioned along the fold 41. Note the trapezoidal shape of these tabs, intended to retain them in the slots 411 and 412.
- the flap 54 has pre-perforations 541 allowing a valve 542 to be released therein.
- a semi-circular opening 543 allows the user to more easily release the valve 542 which can be articulated along the fold line 544.
- the flap 54 further comprises, below a fold line 64 parallel to lines 34 and 44 already mentioned, a closure and support tongue 74. More precisely, this tongue 74 has a central part 741 projecting between two rounded cutouts 742 and 743, the usefulness of which will be mentioned later.
- the cardboard according to the invention is mounted by joining the sides 1 and 4 by means of the side strip 5 fixed in a known manner by gluing or stapling. It should be noted that the cardboard boxes can then be stored, folded in half, either on two of the fold lines 11 to 14, or along lines passing through the sides 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.
- the container Before being used, the container is deployed and the lower flaps 23, 21, 24 and 22 are successively folded along the lines 31 to 34.
- the flap 24 is fixed to the flap 22 by the adhesive strips 28 and 29.
- the steps for preparing the top of the container are as follows.
- the flap 51 is the first to be folded inwards, as is the tongue 71. note in the section of FIG. 3 that the central part 711 of the tongue 71 has passed through the slot 431 so that the flap 51 rests on the support flange 432 situated at the top of the face 3 of the carton, the rounded cutouts 712 and 713 which engage respectively against clearances 433 and 434.
- a plastic bag 200 is then placed inside the container. Its upper part passes through the central opening 511 and is fixed to the flap 51 by means of the adhesive strips 512 and 513.
- the flap 54 is then closed, the tongue 74 being held on the support flange 422 as has been seen for the tongue 71 on the flange 432.
- the clearances 423 and 424 also support the flap 54, and more precisely its rounded cutouts 742 and 743. Thanks to this support system, solid cardboard is obtained, the upper part of which remains perfectly horizontal and is not likely to be knocked down.
- the support flanges 422 and 433 it is advantageous for the support flanges 422 and 433 to be provided along two adjacent faces, to ensure the crossing of the carrying flaps.
- the inner envelope 200 remains visible, as shown in FIG. 2, because of the increasing dimensions of the opening 511 and of the valve 542, because this allows on the one hand to ensure the presence of a plastic bag, and on the other hand to maintain the latter between the flaps 51 and 54.
- valve 542 along the line of the perforations 541 and fold it back as shown in FIG. 2 which represents the position in which the waste is introduced.
- the valve 542, partially shown in the drawing, allows the container to be closed during filling.
- FIG. 3 indicates, as already mentioned, the system for supporting the flap 51 on the flange 432.
- FIG. 4 we note how the top of the bag 200 crosses the flap 51 before being fixed along the adhesive strips 512 and 513. We also see the support of the tongue 74 on the flange 422.
- the plastic bag 200 being closed by a link, the flap 54 is folded as described above after the safety tab 442 has been detached along the perforations 441 and folded outwards along the fold line 443.
- the safety tab 442 is finally inserted into the slot 721, as shown in FIG. 5. It makes it possible to block the various flaps 51 to 54 because it is engaged in the slot 721 of the flap 52 and is located above the other flaps.
- the semicircular opening 722 allows the tongue 442 to be removed, if necessary.
- flaps 52 and 53 are shown in Figures 2 to 4 raised up to better show their location. It goes without saying that these flaps can also be arranged along the faces 2 and 3 of the carton, which may include means for fixing these flaps, constituted for example by adhesive strips.

Abstract
Description
The invention is in the field of waste containers and relates more particularly to foldable cardboard boxes.
To avoid as much as possible any contact between toxic waste and the person having to handle it, it has already been proposed to dispose of this in a plastic bag, a bag which will still be placed in a carton which, once closed, will allow handling the all safe.
The present invention proposes to improve this type of embodiment and relates to a waste container consisting of cardboard, of generally parallelepiped shape, according to the first part of
- at least one of the upper flaps comprises means for fixing the top of the envelope in the opening.
In a preferred embodiment, all of the upper flaps of the carton extend to the opposite side of the carton and are provided with means of attachment thereto. In addition, a locking device makes it possible to block the flaps when the container is full and must be handled.
The appended drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Figure 1 is a top view of the cutting to achieve to obtain a carton according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a view of the carton as it stands, in perspective, during the introduction of waste.
Figure 5 is a cross section corresponding to the view of Figure 4, in the closed position of the carton, once all the waste is enclosed in an inner protective envelope.
Note that the
Particular cutouts are provided along the
Along the
- 1. during the waste introduction phase, effective fixing of a plastic envelope intended to contain the waste,
- 2. a secure closure of the container when it is filled and must be transported.
The
The
The cardboard according to the invention is mounted by joining the
Le rabat 24 est fixé au rabat 22 par les bandes autocollantes 28 et 29.Before being used, the container is deployed and the
The steps for preparing the top of the container are as follows. The
It is advantageous that the
The user can then detach the
On voit également l'appui de la languette 74 sur le rebord 422.The view in FIG. 3 indicates, as already mentioned, the system for supporting the
Be careful not to overfill the inner envelope to be able to close the
To prevent the flaps from opening unexpectedly during the container handling manipulations according to the invention, the
The
