Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an anti-drilling disc intended to be crimped freely in rotation in front of the key entry of a lock cylinder, this disc being constituted by a body of revolution provided with a slot for the passage of the key.
  • Cylinder locks are generally equipped with such a pad, the role of which is to oppose attempts to break in by drilling the cylinder, which aim to neutralize and then hook the bit using the main edge of the drill. , to allow fraudulently retract the deadbolt.
  • Anti-drilling tablets are currently produced by foundry in high hardness steels or special alloys. However, these materials, if they can withstand intense drilling forces, have a low resilience, so that, to also be able to withstand impacts, such as for example hammer or hammer blows, the anti pellets -current drilling must be carried out under significant thicknesses incompatible with the reduction in size sought in modern flat locks.
  • the present invention proposes to overcome this drawback and, to do this, it relates to an anti-drilling disc, of the type specified in the introduction, which is characterized in that the body of revolution, made of a first material, contains weights made of a second material of high hardness, the first material having a higher resilience than that of the second material.
  • these extremely hard weights can alone stand in the way of the introduction of a drilling bit.
  • the body of the pellet can be made of a much less hard material, therefore having good resilience. It therefore becomes possible, thanks to the present invention, to reduce the thickness of the anti-piercing pellets without losing their ability to withstand impacts.
  • the weights are arranged in a square, symmetrical two by two with respect to the plane of the slot for passage of the key.
  • the maximum distance between two weights is preferably less than 7 mm, that is to say less than the diameter of the bit bore in the standard cylinders and therefore the minimum diameter of the drills than the burglars must necessarily use to break the link bit / rotor and hang the wall of the bit bore.
  • the weights are formed by short cylindrical rods and, according to another characteristic of the invention, they are tightly inserted and retained in blind housings, practiced from the rear face of the body. the tablet. Maintaining the weights in their respective housings is also advantageously obtained by brazing performed at the openings of the latter.
  • the most suitable material for making the weights will have an HRA hardness greater than or equal to 80 and will preferably consist of an alloy containing approximately 90 to 92% by weight of tungsten carbide and 8 to 10% by weight of cobalt.
  • the material constituting the body of the pellet will preferably have a resilience KCU greater than or equal to 30 J / cm and it is advantageous to use a common mild or semi-mild steel, and more preferably an XC 48 steel.
  • the present invention also relates to a cylinder lock, the housing of which contains a mechanism for actuating a deadbolt and retains, free to rotate in front of the key entry of the cylinder, an anti-drilling disc as defined above.
  • the lock exemplified in FIGS. 1 and 2 contains, inside its housing 1, here shown embedded in the edge of a door P, all of the usual mechanisms and functional organs of a lock, and in particular a deadbolt 2 here capable of being moved in translation by the bit 3 of a locking cylinder 4 of the traditional type, with an axis substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the deadbolt.
  • the cylinder 4 is retained through cutouts in the front and rear walls of the housing 1, from which it is extracted, on one side and the other, to be received in respective protective parts 5, 6, firmly enclosing the housing 1, thanks to top and bottom mutual connecting members 7.8.
  • the protective part 5 placed in contact with the wall front 1a of the housing 1, accessible from the outside of the door P (FIG. 2) on which the lock is mounted, consists of a breastplate covering the corresponding projecting part of the cylinder 4.
  • This breastplate 5 has a front circular opening 9 giving access to the slot 10 of the cylinder in which the actuation key of the latter is inserted.
  • a spacer 11 is also interposed between the circular upper part of the cylinder 4 and the protective breastplate 5.
  • the second protective part 6 consists in turn of a thick plate applied to the rear wall 1b of the housing where it laterally surrounds the corresponding projecting part of the cylinder 4 by a cutout 9a, of the same shape as the cross section of the latter.
  • the circular opening 9 of the breastplate 5 enveloping the part of the cylinder 4 projecting from the wall before the of the housing 1, is delimited by a re-entrant annular lip 12 providing, with the front face opposite the cylinder 4, a circular housing 13, in which is retained, free to rotate, an anti-drilling disc 15.
  • the pad 15 shown alone in Figures 3 and 4 consists of a small disc having a shoulder 16 placed in abutment against the lip 12 of the breastplate 5.
  • the pad 15, whose circular prominence defined by the shoulder 16 enters the 'opening 9 of the breastplate 5, has a through slot 17 of section slightly larger than that of the slot 10 of the cylinder 4, and indexed in the same direction as the latter in the rest position shown in the patch.
  • the pad 15 contains four weights 18,19,20,21, constituted by short cylindrical rods oriented parallel to the axis of the pad 15. These weights are more precisely introduced into housings blind, such as 22, of complementary shape and dimensions, formed in the patch 15, from the rear face 23 of the latter, that is to say the face intended to be opposite the cylinder 4. After introduction into their respective housings 22, the weights 18 to 21 are immobilized by brazing carried out at openings of the latter, as shown in 24.
  • FIG. 3 also shows that the four weights 18 to 21, substantially of the same diameter, are arranged in a square, being two by two symmetrical with respect to the plane of the slot 17 of the pad 15.
  • the weights 18 to 21 may have any diameter compatible with the external dimensions of the standard anti-drilling pads. It will however be preferable to ensure that the distance d separating two weights 18 and 20 or 19 and 21, arranged diagonally, is less than 7 mm. Furthermore and as shown in FIG. 4, the length 1 of the two weights 19, 20 located in the right half of the patch 15 will preferably be less than the length L of those 18, 21 located in the left half, so that the end faces of the weights are in positions axially offset from the front face 25 of the pad 15, accessible from the outside of the breastplate 5.
  • the weights 18 to 21 are also made of a material of high hardness, preferably greater than or equal to 80 in HRA unit.
  • the preferred material will be a special alloy known under the name "micro-grain carbide", this alloy comprising from 90 to 92% of tungsten carbide and from 10 to 8% of cobalt, possibly supplemented with traces of carbide of titanium and tantalum carbide.
  • a circle with a diameter less than the diameter of the drills that must be used by burglars to neutralize and hang the bit of the standard cylinders they in fact automatically block the penetration of such a drill in the axis of the cylinder 4.
  • the offset position of the weights relative to the front face 25 of the pad 15 further strengthens this protection by causing an imbalance of the drill when it comes into contact with the weights. In this case, the main edge of the drill laterally striking one or the other of the weights will most of the time be broken.
  • the body of the pad 15, in which the weights 18 to 21 are concealed, can therefore be made of a much less hard material and therefore endowed with good resilience.
  • an XC 48 steel or more generally a steel or any other equivalent material having a KCU resilience greater than or equal to 30 J / cm will be chosen.
  • the resulting increase in impact resistance makes it possible to appreciably limit the thickness of the anti-drilling pad according to the invention, which makes it particularly well suited for equipping flat locks. It will thus be possible to produce anti-drilling tablets with a thickness limited to approximately 8 mm.
