Description

The invention relates to a take-off device for flat knitting machines, with pairs of draw-off rollers arranged parallel to one another and to the needle beds, below the comb gap existing between the needle beds, of which at least one take-off roller is driven and at least one pivot lever is mounted on the counter-roller with adjustable pretension .

Goods take-off devices of the aforementioned type are known in various embodiments, for example from US-A-3 651 669; also a complex construction with which the bias of a take-off roller against a counter-take-off roller can be changed by a motor is (EP-OS 421665). However, none of the goods take-off devices mentioned at the outset can be sufficiently and satisfactorily adapted to different knitted fabrics which can be produced on the flat knitting machine. The invention is therefore based on the object of making a goods take-off device of the type mentioned to a greater extent than previously known devices adaptable to different knitted fabrics.

The object is achieved with the goods take-off device mentioned at the outset in that both the minimum distance existing between the two take-off rolls and the initial pre-tension existing at the minimum distance of the at least one pivot lever carrying a take-off roll are adjustable.

In the goods take-off device designed according to the invention, both the minimum distance between the rollers of the roller pairs and the pretension under which the rollers are in this distance position can be changed. Advantageously, both interacting take-off rollers of a pair of take-off rollers can be adjustable and, for this purpose, can be expediently mounted at the end of swivel levers which are designed with two arms and have an adjustable stop at their other end which determines the minimum distance from the counter-extraction roller. The adjustable stops can advantageously be formed by adjustable and lockable eccentric disks which cooperate with counter surfaces which are stationary with respect to the needle beds. These Eccentric discs can be arranged on an actuating shaft common to all pivot levers of one device half.

The adjustability of the pretension of the swivel levers and thus of the take-off rollers mounted on them can be effected in a manner known per se by means of a spring. This spring can easily engage one end on the pivot lever and the other end on an adjustable abutment. Separate tension or compression springs can also be dispensed with here and the adjustable preload can be brought about by an elastically bendable arm of the pivoting lever which can be acted upon by means of an adjustable tensioning body, in particular an already mentioned eccentric disk.

Due to the separate adjustability of the mutual minimum distance between the draw-off rollers and their pretension, and this in particular for both rollers of a pair of draw-off rollers, the goods take-off device according to the invention can be very sensitively adapted to different types of knitted fabrics and adjusted during operation of the flat knitting machine.

An exemplary embodiment of a goods take-off device designed according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.

The sectional view of FIG. 1 shows the carriers 10 and 11 for the two needle beds of a flat knitting machine, in which the needles, not shown, are arranged in the intersecting planes indicated by dash-dotted lines 12 and 13. Below these two levels 12 and 13, a goods take-off device is arranged in the space 14, which is referred to as a comb gap, between the two needle beds, which device consists, in a known manner, of at least a pair of driven take-off rollers 15, 16 running parallel to one another and provided with a profiled surface. The knitted fabric, not shown, made with the needles of the two needle beds runs between the two draw-off rollers 15, 16, is grasped by them and under tension downwards deducted. The two interacting take-off rollers 15 and 16 are each supported at one end by two-armed pivot levers 17 and 18, which in their central part can each be pivoted about an axis 19 or 20 on a support arm 21 or 22 which is on the underside of a needle bed carrier 10 or 11 is attached. An actuating shaft 23 or 24, on which an eccentric disk 25 or 26 is fastened, is respectively mounted on the lower end of the swivel levers 17 and 18 opposite the draw-off roller 15 or 16. This eccentric disc 25 or 26 forms a stop of the pivot lever 17 or 18, which cooperates with a counter stop surface 27 or 28 on the stationary support arm 21 or 22. By turning the actuating shafts 23 and 24, which can be continuous actuating shafts over the entire length of the needle beds, a desired minimum distance between the two take-off rollers 15 and 16 can be infinitely adjusted to suit the strength and the type of knitted fabric to be drawn off. On the other hand, the two take-off rollers 15 and 16 can be moved apart, but only against a spring biasing force acting on the pivot levers 17 and 18. The pretensioning device is not shown in FIG. 1 for reasons of better clarity, but can be seen from FIG. 2.

In Fig. 2, the two pivot levers 17 and 18 and thus the take-off rollers 15 and 16 mounted in them are pivoted apart. The biasing force that must be overcome here is effected in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 by a compression spring 29, which in the pivot lever 17 with one end 29.1 on the the actuating shaft 23 supporting lower arm of this pivot lever and with its other end 29.2 is attached to a clamping lever 30. The tensioning lever 30 is mounted on the carrier 21 so as to be pivotable about an axis 31 and has a roller 32 at its lower end with which it rests against an eccentric disk 33. The eccentric disc 33 is fastened on a second adjusting shaft 34 which, like the adjusting shafts 23 and 24, can be continuous over the length of the needle beds and can be common to several tensioning levers. By turning the adjusting shaft 34 and thus the eccentric disc 33, the pivoting position of the tensioning lever 30 can be changed and, by changing the distance between the two ends 29.1 and 29.2 of the tensioning spring 29, its pretensioning force acting on the pivoting lever 17 in the clockwise direction. The swivel lever 18 carrying the other take-off roller 16 is provided with a pretensioning device of exactly the same construction, the parts of which are designated by the same reference numbers, supplemented by an index line.

Durch die Exzenterscheibe 53 läßt sich der Federsteg 50 elastisch ausbiegen und dadurch die auf die Abzugswalze 35 einwirkende Vorspannung verändern.FIG. 3 partially shows a goods take-off device which differs from the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 by the design of its pretensioning device. The pivot lever 37 carrying a take-off roller 35 is designed like the pivot lever 17 with two arms and is mounted on a stationary support 41 in its central region around an axis 39. Like the swivel lever 17, it carries at its lower end an adjusting shaft 43 provided with an eccentric disk 45, and the eccentric disk 45 forms a stop for the swivel lever 37 on a counter abutment surface 47 of the carrier 41. The swivel lever 37 has a spring bar 50 as a third arm whose free end area acts as a tensioning element, an eccentric 53 a second actuating shaft 54, which corresponds to the actuating shaft 34 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, is fastened. By means of the eccentric disc 53, the spring bar 50 can be elastically bent out and thereby change the pretension acting on the take-off roller 35.
