Definitions
- the invention relates to a suspension system for painting frames or other essentially plate-shaped objects.
- a painting system is usually used for painting frames, which has fixed mounting brackets or mounting brackets on the back of the frame. With the hanging brackets, the frame is hung on hooks in the wall or with the hanging brackets, the frame is hung on cords led down from a display rail. For paintings that are often reassigned, either because they change their place of hanging or because they are hung up in different places in a gallery, there is sometimes the need to move hanging angles and hangers on the back of the painting frame. If such painting frames are transported over longer distances, for which purpose they then have to be inserted into a transport frame, the suspension brackets or suspension brackets are regularly removed in order to be able to fully insert the frame into the cushioning material.
- Transport frames are mostly made of wood, flat boxes, in which the painting is inserted in the frame in soft padding material, especially in foam plastic. The painting is then densely surrounded on all sides by cushioning material so that it is not damaged by vibrations and impacts during transport.
- the upholstery material must be made very thick and dense. Especially at the lower edge of the frame, where the full weight of the painting works in the frame, the upholstery is extremely problematic, here transport damage is always the order of the day.
- the invention has for its object to provide a suitable for painting frames and other essentially plate-shaped objects suspension system that solves the problems mentioned above.
- the above-stated object is achieved in that at least one, preferably at least in each corner of the frame, at least one suspension rail fixedly attached to the frame is provided and that the suspension rail in turn has at least one fastening point, preferably in the form of a threaded hole, via which a mounting rail is attached the suspension rail can be attached.
- a suspension rail is realized which is permanently attached to the frame.
- This suspension rail remains on the frame. It initially serves as an attachment base for hanging angles or hanging brackets that can be attached to it for hanging the painting frame. It is also used for transport or for hanging to attach a mounting rail that can be attached to the suspension rail.
- the mounting rail can carry the frame in a transport frame, but it can also be used under special conditions to fasten the frame to the wall of an exhibition space or the like. What is essential is the permanent base on the frame of the painting, which is realized by the hanging rail.
- the invention relates to a suspension system for painting frames and other essentially flat objects.
- the technical background for the teaching of the invention has been explained in the general part of the description, to which reference may be made.
- suspension rail 2 fixedly attached to the frame.
- the suspension rail 2 in turn has at least one attachment point 3, via which a mounting rail 4 can be attached to the suspension rail 2.
- suspension rails 2 are fixedly attached to the frame in each corner of the frame 1, in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the suspension rails 2 are each provided in pairs and arranged next to one another. This will be explained later.
- the suspension rails 2 remain on the frame 1.
- the mounting rails 4 can also be used if the frame 1 with the painting is to be attached somewhere in a particularly theft-proof manner.
- the length of the mounting rail is dimensioned such that the mounting rail 4 fastened to the suspension rail 2 projects laterally beyond the frame 1 with a fastening section 5.
- the mounting rail 4 could of course also protrude upwards or downwards.
- the mounting rail 4 is provided with at least one fastening point 6, via which it can be fastened to a frame support 7, which is present somewhere.
- the frame carrier 7 can be part of a transport packaging, but it can also be a frame carrier 7 on a wall of an exhibition space. It is only essential that the frame support 7 is attached somewhere and is used to fasten the frame 1 via the mounting rail 4 and suspension rail 2. Further explanations of the structure of preferred embodiments of frame supports 7 can be found in the further course of this description.
- the mounting rail 4 is connected to the suspension rail 2 via fastening points 3, which are designed as threaded bores, and corresponding fastening screws, which are designed as countersunk screws, are indicated. It is essential that the mounting rail 4 is releasably connected to the suspension rail 2. If the mounting rail 4 is no longer required, for example because a transport has ended, it can simply be unscrewed from the frame 1 without this resulting in open holes on the frame 1 itself. This is because the suspension rail 2 serves as a fastening for the mounting rail 4, but the suspension rail 2 remains permanently on the frame 1. In principle, of course, there are many options for attaching the mounting rail 4 to the suspension rail 2.
- a further advantageous, but not shown exemplary embodiment could also look such that the mounting rail 4 is fastened to the suspension rail 2 by means of a folding joint. Support rail 4 and suspension rail 2 would then be permanently connected, but when not in use, the support rail 4 could be folded in, so that it lies on the back of the frame 1 and no longer projects laterally.
- Fig. 2 makes clear with the enlarged view of the suspension rail 2 that there are two countersunk through holes 8 for attachment to the frame 1 by means of fastening screws according to the preferred teaching. That does not need further explanation.
- the suspension rail 2 can also be attached to the frame 1 by permanent gluing.
- FIGS. 2 and 3 of the suspension rail 2 and mounting rail 4 makes it clear that the fastening points 3 on the suspension rail 2 are designed as threaded holes in the suspension rail 2, so that a thread is cut into the material of the suspension rail 2. With a rather thin material thickness of the suspension rail 2, a thread of sufficient length or tensile strength cannot be realized. For certain frames 1, however, you want the suspension rail 2 not to be so bulky on the back of the frame 1. A suspension rail 2 with a thickness of z. B. 6 mm, as shown in Fig. 3, would then not be acceptable.
- the fastening point 3 on the suspension rail 2 is designed as a push-through bore with a threaded connector 9 firmly attached to it.
- the mounting rail 4 can be fastened to the suspension rail 2 with fastening screws, which are indicated here, without stressing the frame 1 in any way, since the threaded connector 9 on the suspension rail 2 is firmly attached to the respective through-hole, for example in the press fit or are soldered on .
- a power transmission from the fastening screws directly into the frame 1 does not take place.
- connection options at the fastening points 3 one could imagine, for example, snap-in connections, bayonet connections, but also simple plug connections with a corresponding shape of the suspension rail 2 and / or the mounting rail 4 with a plug-in receptacle.
- connections based on simple bores and threaded bores are of course particularly expedient.
- the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5 also shows a special feature in that two fastening points 3 are arranged next to one another or, when the suspension rail 2 is arranged on the upper edge of the frame 1, effectively arranged one above the other. This increases the resilience of the fastening.
- Fig. 4 makes it clear that the suspension rail 2 should be attached to the upper edge of the frame 1 in a particularly useful manner. A distance from the upper edge of the frame 1, as shown in FIG. 1, is of course also possible, which would have the advantage that a hanging bracket 10, as shown in FIG. 4, would be covered by the frame 1. 4 shows the suspension bracket 10 on the suspension rail 2 above the frame 1, where a suspension cord is indicated. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the suspension bracket 10 can be folded down or pivoted to the suspension rail 2. It is designed here as a C-bracket, the free ends of which engage in pivoting receptacles on the suspension rail 2. This suspension bracket can be detached from the suspension rail 2 or attached to it again under the effect of its own elasticity. A variety of other embodiments are also conceivable.
- FIGS. 1 to 4 make it further clear that here, according to the preferred teaching, two suspension rails 2 are arranged in pairs next to one another (or one above the other) and the mounting rail 4 can be fastened together on both suspension rails 2.
- Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 make it clear what is achieved with two hanging rails 2 arranged in pairs next to each other.
- the support rail 4 can then be attached to both suspension rails 2, thereby gaining a two-point attachment, so it can no longer pivot relative to the suspension rail 2.
- this technique is of particular importance for the suspension of the frame 1 for transport purposes, as shown in FIG. 6.
- the support rail 4 extends, expedient in terms of production technology and particularly useful in terms of fastening technology, transversely to the mounting rail 2 or to the mounting rails 2.
- the embodiment which is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 can now be seen that another special shape of the suspension rails 2 has been selected. It is namely provided here that the suspension rails 2 each have a form-locking element. This form-locking element 11 is designed as a transverse groove with a width that matches the width of the mounting rail 4.
- connection via positive locking elements can of course also be realized using other techniques, for example using pins, cams, hooks or the like, which can also be provided on the mounting rail 4 instead of or in addition to the suspension rail 2.
- suspension rail 2 and / or the mounting rail 4 from metal, in particular from galvanized steel strip.
- Stainless steel is also suitable, possibly also plastic, in which case plastic reinforced with strength, for example plastic reinforced with carbon fibers or glass fibers, could be used.
- plastic parts are probably only considered for lighter frames 1, heavy baroque frames will certainly require a metallic design of the parts of the suspension system.
- the frame support 7 has a vibration and shock-absorbing support buffer 12 for the mounting rail 4 and that the mounting rail 4, preferably with the interposition of a further damping buffer 13, can be braced with the support buffer.
- the two buffers 12, 13 can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 7, there are also indicated two fastening and tensioning screws 14 with which the upper buffer 13 is braced on the frame support 7.
- the openings in the mounting rail 4 should then look as possible so that direct contact between the mounting rail 4 and the fastening and tensioning screws 14 is avoided.
- Fig. 6 shows the transport engineering design, namely that a plurality of frame supports 7 are parts of a transport frame 15 and, preferably, are firmly attached to the bottom 16 of the transport frame 15.
- a plurality of frame supports 7 are parts of a transport frame 15 and, preferably, are firmly attached to the bottom 16 of the transport frame 15.
- the mounting rails 4 are each covered by the buffers 13, the fastening and tensioning screws 14 are indicated.
- the frame supports 7 are mounted on the bottom 16 of the transport frame 15, which can be seen particularly well in FIG. 7.
- the frame 1 has a sufficient distance not only from the floor 16, but also from the walls 17 and the cover 18 of the transport frame 15.
- the floating mounting of the frame 1 on the frame supports 7 via the mounting rails 4 can completely or at least substantially Upholstery material between the frame 1 and the transport frame 15 can be dispensed with. Vibrations and impacts are particularly largely kept away from the frame 1 when the frame supports 7, as shown, are provided with the support buffers 12 and buffers 13, that is to say the mounting of the mounting rails 4 takes place in the manner of a vibration damper. Since upholstery material in the transport frame 15 can largely be dispensed with, the climate in a transport space reaches the interior of the transport frame 15 and the painting located therein directly and transport damage for this reason is largely excluded.
- the suspension system according to the invention for painting frames and other essentially plate-shaped objects is on the one hand extremely useful with regard to the usual suspension for the purpose of exhibition, on the other hand for transportation purposes and solves practically all problems of known suspension systems.
- FIG. 8 A further, particularly preferred exemplary embodiment of a transport frame 15 of a suspension system of the type in question is shown in a view in FIG. 8. While the transport frame shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 is box-shaped and allows the frame supports 7 to be attached to the floor 16, the transport frame shown in FIG. 8 is a real circumferential frame, consisting of long sides 19 and transverse sides 20 connecting these. that the longitudinal sides 19 are provided with longitudinal adjustment guides 21, in which transverse rails 22 arranged parallel to the transverse sides 20 are guided so that they can be locked. The frame supports 7 are thus formed by the transverse rails 22 or arranged on them. In the exemplary embodiment shown, it also applies that the transverse rails 22 themselves are again provided with longitudinal adjustment guides 23 which run parallel to the transverse sides 20 of the transport frame 15. Support rails 4 can thus be attached to the cross rails 22 by means of the longitudinal adjustment guides 23 in different positions.
- the transport frame 15 according to the invention in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 8 is suitable for the transport of different painting sizes, since it can be adjusted in many ways.
- the mounting rails 4 of the painting frame 1 can easily be screwed onto the cross rails 22 by means of threaded screws and wing nuts, similarly as explained in the exemplary embodiment 6 and 7 for the fastening and tensioning screws 14.
- the height of the painting frame 1 is adjustable and the cross rails 22 are adjustable in width in the transport frame 15. This has the great advantage that a single transport frame 15 of predetermined external dimensions can be used for all common frame sizes, if necessary also two or three standard transport frames 15 of different external dimensions. So you get to a transport technology advantageous standardization of the outer dimensions of the transport frame 15 largely independent of the dimensions that the painting frame 1 transported in each case actually has.
- transport frame 15 from metal angle rails, in particular light metal angle rails, i.e. e.g. Aluminum.
- metal angle rails i.e. e.g. Aluminum.
- thick flat material possibly also embossed, can be used for the cross rails 22.
- the longitudinal adjustment guides 21, 23 do not have to be designed as longitudinal slots, as shown, corresponding rows of holes or the like could also be provided.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a suspension system for painting frames or other essentially plate-shaped objects.
The teaching of the present invention is explained below with reference to the preferred field of application for painting frames, it must always be remembered that the teaching of the present invention also for all other essentially plate-shaped objects, for example for poster carriers, for other art objects or the like ., which in themselves require a suspension, is suitable.
A painting system is usually used for painting frames, which has fixed mounting brackets or mounting brackets on the back of the frame.
The result of the situation described above is often the case with older and "widely traveled" picture frames that the back has a dense perforated pattern, so that there are hardly any attachment options for hanging brackets or hanging angles. This is a particular problem with old, perhaps somewhat fragile and possibly also very heavy frames of large paintings, which often cause great problems when hanging up.
Another problem is the transportation of such paintings in painting frames. As previously mentioned, transport frames are used for this. Transport frames are mostly made of wood, flat boxes, in which the painting is inserted in the frame in soft padding material, especially in foam plastic. The painting is then densely surrounded on all sides by cushioning material so that it is not damaged by vibrations and impacts during transport. In order to provide adequate protection here, the upholstery material must be made very thick and dense. Especially at the lower edge of the frame, where the full weight of the painting works in the frame, the upholstery is extremely problematic, here transport damage is always the order of the day.
The padding of paintings in the frame for transport has another major disadvantage. Paintings in this art category must be exposed to constant climatic conditions. They are therefore transported in specially air-conditioned transport vehicles. The best air conditioning fails, however, if the target climate created in the air-conditioned transport space on the painting itself cannot be effective at all due to the thick padding of the painting. The problem is that a sufficient exchange of air through the upholstery cannot be guaranteed.
The invention has for its object to provide a suitable for painting frames and other essentially plate-shaped objects suspension system that solves the problems mentioned above.
The above-stated object is achieved in that at least one, preferably at least in each corner of the frame, at least one suspension rail fixedly attached to the frame is provided and that the suspension rail in turn has at least one fastening point, preferably in the form of a threaded hole, via which a mounting rail is attached the suspension rail can be attached.
According to the invention, a suspension rail is realized which is permanently attached to the frame. This suspension rail remains on the frame. It initially serves as an attachment base for hanging angles or hanging brackets that can be attached to it for hanging the painting frame. It is also used for transport or for hanging to attach a mounting rail that can be attached to the suspension rail. The mounting rail can carry the frame in a transport frame, but it can also be used under special conditions to fasten the frame to the wall of an exhibition space or the like. What is essential is the permanent base on the frame of the painting, which is realized by the hanging rail.
For hanging a frame, two hanging rails in the two upper corners of the frame are usually sufficient, possibly also another hanging rail in the middle of the frame above. However, for universal use of this suspension system, it is advisable to arrange at least one suspension rail in all four corners of the frame.
There are now various possibilities for embodying and developing the teaching of the invention, for which purpose reference may be made to the claims subordinate to claim 1.

The invention relates to a suspension system for painting frames and other essentially flat objects. The technical background for the teaching of the invention has been explained in the general part of the description, to which reference may be made.
As FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show, it is first of all essential that the suspension system according to the invention has at least one
The
In the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing, the mounting
Fig. 2 makes clear with the enlarged view of the
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 of the
As further examples of connection options at the fastening points 3, one could imagine, for example, snap-in connections, bayonet connections, but also simple plug connections with a corresponding shape of the
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5 also shows a special feature in that two
Fig. 4 makes it clear that the
The exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 make it further clear that here, according to the preferred teaching, two
In the exemplary embodiments shown, the
It is particularly expedient to make the
From a manufacturing point of view, a design as a cast part is recommended for the possibly more complicated part "suspension rail", while the mounting
Man hat dann eine Art Schwingungsdämpfungs-Lager für den Rahmen 1 an jeder Ecke realisiert, wie in Fig. 6 dargestellt, ohne daß man irgendwelches Polstermaterial um den Rahmen 1 herum verwendet hatte.6 and 7 now make the transport engineering importance of the suspension system according to the invention still clear. It can be seen here that the
Fig. 6 shows the transport engineering design, namely that a plurality of frame supports 7 are parts of a
The suspension system according to the invention for painting frames and other essentially plate-shaped objects is on the one hand extremely useful with regard to the usual suspension for the purpose of exhibition, on the other hand for transportation purposes and solves practically all problems of known suspension systems.
A further, particularly preferred exemplary embodiment of a
The
It is particularly advantageous to make the
The longitudinal adjustment guides 21, 23 do not have to be designed as longitudinal slots, as shown, corresponding rows of holes or the like could also be provided.
