Definitions

  • the invention relates to a push button on a watch case according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a push button is known from CH-A-204 722 and is designed in such a way that the outer part of the elastic sleeve rests with its outer circumference on the inner wall of the recess, which in its outer region is formed by a radially outwardly projecting, annular projection of the housing wall is limited.
  • the inward edge of the push button has a larger diameter than this ring-shaped attachment and is at a distance above this attachment when the push button is at rest, so that the sleeve is not covered laterally; in the depressed position, the edge overlaps the ring-shaped attachment from the outside.
  • a leaf spring is provided on the inside of the housing, which presses against a cone fastened to the inner end of the axis and forming the stop, so that it fits tightly in an adapted conical opening on the inside of the housing is present.
  • a push button with an inward edge in which the elastic sleeve surrounding the axis at a distance at both ends with the help of pins and rings and by gluing on the one hand on the inside of the head projecting ring projection and on the other hand is attached to a projecting at the bottom of the recess ring projection.
  • On the underside of the push button edge several radially outwardly projecting lugs are formed, which limit the rest position of the push button by contact with radially directed lugs, on which the countersink limiting outer housing edge are molded.
  • the sleeve is located both at a distance from the axis and from the inner circumference of the countersink, but is only very thin in relation to the size of the annular space.
  • a push button with an inwardly directed edge is also known, in which, however, the axis runs in a tube pressed into the housing opening and instead of a sleeve, a plurality of elastic, superimposed disks is provided, which in the Annulus between the axis and the inner circumference of the tube, a small distance from the axis and from this inner circumference, are arranged.
  • the edge of the push-button overlaps the tube protruding on the outside of the housing and lies in the pressed-in position on a radial contact surface of the tube.
  • a push button is also provided with an inwardly directed edge, the axis of which is also guided in a tube pressed into the housing opening and the return movement into the rest position is effected by a special helical spring.
  • a sealing packing is used for sealing, which on the one hand rests on the outer wall of the tube projecting outwards and on the other hand is bent outward in a U-shape by 180 ° and rests on the inner circumference of the push-button edge.
  • the axle is also seated in a tube pressed into the housing opening, and molded gaskets are provided inside the tube, on both sides of collars attached to the axle, the walls of which are concavely curved on both sides.
  • snap fasteners with a head which consists only of a disc or a cylindrical part, without an inwardly directed edge (FR-A-2 344 882, FR-A-2 368 084, US-A-4 031 348) and in which an elastic sleeve is also provided, the ends of which lie between the inside of the head and the bottom of the recess. In the rest position of the push button, this sleeve lies either with its outer circumference on the housing wall delimiting the countersink or with its inner circumference against the axis.
  • these are shaped sleeves which have a conical shape in cross-section in the non-compressed state, the tip of the cone pointing radially outwards and abutting the housing wall, or which already form the annular space around the axis fill in almost completely.
  • the present invention has for its object to simplify the structure of a push button of the type described, as it is used in particular in stopwatches, and to facilitate its assembly; at the same time, the simply constructed Push button have a high level of operational reliability and do not require any precisely defined dimensions of the watch case, so that the case can be manufactured with large tolerances.
  • the push button according to the invention can also be designed as a corrector, for example for the gradual adjustment of a date display, and then lies in the non-depressed rest position with the top at least approximately at the level of the outer circumference of the housing wall.
  • the resilient sleeve is preferably made of a silicone tube.
  • a radial opening 7 is provided in the housing wall 1 of a watch case, which is only indicated schematically and partially, and which is penetrated with play by the axis 2 of a push button.
  • a cup-shaped head 3 At the outside protruding end of the axis 2 is a cup-shaped head 3 with a peripheral wall facing the housing and forming the edge 3a attached.
  • axis 2 and head 3 are separate parts which are fastened to one another, but can also be formed in one piece.
  • a countersink 6 adapted to the outside diameter of the head 3 with its edge 3a, in which the head 3 engages with play.
  • a sleeve 4 made of resilient material is inserted, which is clamped between the inside of the head 3 and the bottom la of the recess 6 and in the rest position of the Push button has both a distance to the axis 2 and a distance to the edge 3a of the head 3. The rest position of the head 3 shown in FIG.
  • the peripheral wall of the head 3 forming the edge 3a plunges a little, with a fraction of its height, into the recess 6, so that the sleeve 4 is covered.
  • the sleeve 4 which can preferably be a silicone tube, is dimensioned and designed such that it is already pre-tensioned and compressed in the rest position of the push button defined by the stop 5 in the axial sense, ie in the radial direction to the housing that a perfect seal of the watch case, in particular its watertightness, is guaranteed by the inward and outward-facing end faces of the sleeve 4 bearing with sufficient elastic force on the inner wall of the head 3 or the bottom 1a of the recess 6.
  • the sleeve 4 compresses and deforms such that, as illustrated in FIG. 2, it practically completely occupies the annular space inside the head and, of course, a perfect seal is thus maintained.
  • the push button After releasing the push button, it is moved outwards again under the effect of the restoring force of the sleeve material into its rest position, in which the stop 5 of the axis 2 rests on the inner wall of the housing.
  • the stop 5 is formed by an expansion head, which is created by the fact that two perpendicular cuts such as screw slots are milled at the end of the axis, whereby this expansion head 5 is pressed together when the axis is pushed through the housing opening 7 and spreads apart again in the end position.
  • the stop consists of a slotted spring ring 5a, which is arranged in a groove in the axis.
  • the stop consists of a screw 5b screwed into the inner axis end, in the example according to FIG. 7 from a pressed-on clamping ring 5c and in the example according to FIG. 8 from a pin 5d pressed into an axial opening of the axis.
  • FIG. 9 shows the example of a push button, the head 9 of which has a hood-shaped plastic part which is fastened on a disk-shaped metal plate 8, which in turn is firmly connected to the axis 2 passing through the opening 7 of the housing wall 1.
  • the plastic head can be fixed by pouring over the metal plate 8, or else by gluing or pressing.
  • the inner peripheral wall of the recess 6 has an annular step 1b, which limits the depth of indentation of the head and forms the stop surface for the lower edge of the inwardly facing edge 9a of the head 9.
  • the inner contact surface for the sleeve 4 is in turn formed by the bottom la of the recess 6.
  • the stop at the inner end of axis 2 consists of a pin 5d.
  • the push button is designed as a corrector and has a cup-shaped head 11, the upper side of which, in the rest position shown in FIG. 11, lies at the level of the outer circumference of the housing wall 1.
  • a small depression 12 for inserting a pointed object with which the corrector can be actuated.
  • the stop surface for the head 11 in its depressed position is, as in the example according to FIG. 9, formed by an annular step 1b provided on the inner peripheral wall of the recess 6, against which the edge 11a of the head abuts, while the inner contact surface for the sleeve 4 the bottom 1a of the recess 6 is.
  • the sleeve 4 is designed so that in the non-depressed rest position of the push button or the corrector it already has sufficient elastic pretension to achieve complete watertightness and in the depressed position of the push button is so radially deformed that it at least for the most part fills the annular space surrounding axis 2.
  • the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described and the embodiments of the inner stop of the axle, but rather allows multiple variants with regard to the design of the head and the sleeve and their material.
  • the housing wall need not have a countersink 6; in this case, the stop surface for the edge of the head and the contact surface for the sleeve are formed by the peripheral surface of the housing wall.
