Weiterhin gewährleistet die erfindungsgemäße Ausgestaltung der Brecherwalzen ein hohes Maß an Funktionssicherheit, da Fremdkörper, welche dem zu zerkleinernden Wertstoff zugemischt sind, nicht zu einer Betriebsstörung führen. Derartige Fremdkörper können beispielsweise metallische Bauelemente sein, welche mit den zu zerkleinernden Holzteilen verbunden sind. Somit gestattet die erfindungsgemäße Zerkleinerungsvorrichtung die Verarbeitung einer Vielzahl unterschiedlichster Stoffe, es ist insbesondere möglich, Holz, Paletten, Müll, Baumstümpfe, Wurzelstücke oder ähnliches zu verarbeiten. Im betriebsgemäßen Zustand greifen die einzelnen Brecherelemente 7 jeweils in den Zwischenraum der Scheibenelemente 6 der benachbarten Brecherwalze und führen zu einer Reinigung dieses Zwischenbereiches. Bei der vorstehend bereits genannten Dimensionierung des Durchmessers des Grundkörpers 5, des Achsenabstandes der Brecherwalzen 3, 4 und des Außendurchmessers der Brecherwalzen ergeben sich jeweils besonders günstige Reinigungseffekte.
