Description

The present invention relates to a dual control flushing mechanism making it possible, at the user's choice, to completely empty or partially drain the flush tank.

Hunting mechanisms have already been proposed making it possible to interrupt, at will, the emptying of the cistern, when it is estimated that sufficient washing or rinsing of the bowl is carried out before all of the water contained in said tank has not been evacuated (FR-A-2609297, FR-A-2621630, FR-A-2658844), that is to say before the completion of the normal hunting process, so that it is thus possible to achieve significant water savings.

With the exception of the flushing system described in document FR-A-2609297, the various devices proposed for obtaining the above-mentioned result have the drawback of requiring two successive and spaced-apart actions on the control of the flushing mechanism. . However, the users do not always take the time, after having actuated the control unit for the first time, to ensure that sufficient rinsing of the bowl has been obtained before complete emptying, in order to actuate said a second time control unit causing the water flow to be interrupted, so that large quantities of water are unnecessarily consumed.

The document FR-A-2609297 describes a flushing system, the aim of which is to enable a water flow rate suitable for each use of the flushing to be obtained. However, this system implements a control device with two actuating members operating by traction and whose handling is particularly difficult. To obtain partial emptying, it is necessary, in fact, to keep one member pressed while the second is being lifted, and this throughout the duration of the partial emptying.

The object of the present invention is in particular to eliminate the need to actuate twice the control member of the flushing mechanism, to obtain the interruption of the emptying, so as to limit the quantity of water discharged, without this causing a complication of the gesture to perform for users.

  • d'une part, un équipage mobile monté avec une aptitude de déplacement axial et comprenant un clapet d'obturation de l'orifice de vidange du réservoir, installé à la partie inférieure d'un tube d'évacuation de trop-plein ou tube de surverse comportant un orifice supérieur et un orifice inférieur, la portion inférieure de ce tube de surverse étant agencée ou conformée pour constituer un flotteur disposé au-dessus dudit clapet, ce flotteur étant submersible, comme décrit dans le document FR-A- 2658844, et étant équipé, dans ce but, d'un obturateur mobile axialement et verticalement, cet obturateur pouvant être plaqué contre son siège constitué par le bord de l'orifice inférieur du tube de surverse, de façon à empêcher l'entrée d'eau dans le flotteur, ou éloigné dudit siège sous l'impulsion d'un organe de poussée ou de butée, de façon à permettre une entrée d'eau dans ledit flotteur entrainant la retombée rapide de celui-ci et l'interruption du processus de chasse ;
The invention relates more precisely to hunting mechanisms of the kind comprising:
  • on the one hand, a mobile assembly mounted with an axial displacement aptitude and comprising a shutter valve for the emptying port of the tank, installed at the lower part of an overflow discharge tube or overflow comprising an upper orifice and a lower orifice, the lower portion of this overflow tube being arranged or shaped to constitute a float disposed above said valve, this float being submersible, as described in document FR-A-2658844, and being equipped, for this purpose, with a shutter movable axially and vertically, this shutter being able to be pressed against its seat constituted by the edge of the lower orifice of the overflow tube, so as to prevent the entry of water into the float, or distant from said seat under the impulse of a pushing or abutment member, so as to allow water to enter said float causing it to drop rapidly and the process to be interrupted hunting us;
  • on the other hand, a push button control system.

The flushing mechanism according to the invention is remarkable in that it comprises two systems of separate push-button controls, i.e. a first push-button control system including a transmission device allowing the lifting of the moving assembly, and a second push-button control system comprising a transmission device allowing the positioning of the shutter of the submersible float in the open position, these two control systems being arranged so that the actuation of the lifting control of the moving assembly does not cause any action on the movement control of the shutter of the submersible float, while actuation of the opening control of said shutter automatically causes actuation of the lifting control of the moving element.

According to another characteristic arrangement of the invention, means maintain the displacement system of the shutter of the submersible float in the open position of said shutter, during filling of said float causing the latter to fall back.

Thanks to the invention, the user or the user can, depending on the amount of water he deems necessary to ensure good cleaning of the bowl, or obtain complete emptying of the tank by actuating the control system allowing the lifting of the movable assembly of the flushing mechanism, or obtaining the partial emptying of said tank, corresponding for example substantially to a half-emptying thereof, by actuating the opening control system of the float shutter submersible, simultaneously actuating the lifting system for the moving part.

The quantities of water evacuated by the implementation of one or other of the above flushing processes do not can be modified, while these processes can not be interrupted, when they have been started, which ensures, in all cases, a good cleaning or rinsing of the bowl.

The aims, characteristics and advantages above, and others still, will emerge more clearly from the description which follows and from the appended drawings in which:

Reference is made to said drawings to describe two examples of advantageous, although not limiting, embodiments of the flushing mechanism according to the invention, which can be made of any plastic material having the required qualities.

In the accompanying drawings, the parts of the flushing mechanism which are the same or which perform identical functions in the two embodiments, are designated by the same references.

According to the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 5, the flushing mechanism comprises, in known manner, an outer casing designated as a whole by the reference 1 and comprising a cylindrical upper guide portion 2 and a lower portion bulging or outer bell 3, also cylindrical, and whose diameter is significantly greater than that of said upper guide portion, this outer casing being intended to be fixedly installed in the flush tank, as described in the remainder of this description .

A.In the outer casing 1, is housed, with a capacity for axial upward or downward movement, a "overflow" tube 4 comprising a lower orifice A and an upper orifice B, so as to allow automatic discharge of any excess full which could, for example, result from the faulty closing of the tap controlling the admission of water into the tank. On the lower end of this tube, is fixed the valve 5 for closing the tank emptying orifice. This valve is, for example, constituted by a seal in the form of a circular crown and made of rubber or other similar material, installed in a peripheral groove that has a mount 4a constituting the lower end of the overflow tube 4 and the edge of opening A.

The lower part of the overflow tube is arranged or shaped so as to constitute a float, which can advantageously be formed by the bulged lower portion 6 of said tube, the base of this float being placed above and at a reduced distance from the plane in which is the upper side of the valve 5.

The float 6 is housed concentrically in the outer bell 3 and an annular space or passage C is reserved between the cylindrical side walls of these two members.

On the other hand, the upper part of the overflow tube 4 is housed, also concentrically, in the upper portion 2 of the outer casing 1, which serves as a guide, an annular space D being formed between the cylindrical side walls of said tube and of said upper portion.

The overflow tube 4, the float 6 and the valve 5, constitute the mobile assembly of the flushing mechanism.

The seat of the valve 5 is constituted by the upper circular edge 7 of a central orifice E which is provided with a base designated as a whole by the reference 8.

When the flushing mechanism is positioned inside a flushing tank itself fixed on a toilet bowl, the base 8 is installed fixedly, by means of a nut (not shown) screwed onto the threaded lower cylindrical portion 8a of said base, in the orifice 9 presented by the bottom 10 of the reservoir (partially shown in Figures 1 and 3 to 5). In this way, the central orifice E of the base 8 constitutes the emptying orifice of the tank. The seal between the bottom 10 of the tank and the seat or bearing face of the base 8 is produced by means of an intermediate annular seal 55 made of rubber or other suitable material.

The base of the outer bell 3 and the base 8 are arranged in a complementary manner or provided with complementary joining means allowing them to be rigidly assembled, in a removable manner, while allowing the passage of water between said base and said base. The base 8 is, for example, provided with three guide and locking forks 11 spaced 120 degrees apart and between the branches of which the base 3a of the outer bell 3 is engaged and retained, the internal branches 11a of these locking forks 11 being provided with vertical ribs 11b serving as guides for the float 6, during the vertical movements of the latter.

The float 6 is a submersible float of the type described in document FR-A-2,658,844. It is equipped with a shutter 12 movable axially and vertically, this shutter being housed, concentrically, in the float 6 from which it emerges through its lower part provided with an opercular flange 12a. The latter constitutes a valve which can be pressed against its seat constituted by the edge of the lower orifice A of the overflow tube, thereby ensuring the buoyancy of the float, or remote from said seat, so as to allow water to enter the said float. causing the latter to submerge and, consequently, the valve 5 to fall back onto its seat 7.

The shutter 12 advantageously comprises a tubular body, preferably cylindrical, the top of which is provided with a perforated upper wall, for example constituted by a transverse bar 12b at the center of which is provided a hole 13 for the passage of a rod transmission 14. On the other hand, the tubular body of the obturator is provided, externally and laterally, with one or more stop fins 12c arranged at a distance from the opercular flange 12a, these fins being housed inside the float 6.

According to the invention, the flushing mechanism comprises two separate push-button control systems, namely:
  • a first push-button control system including a transmission or wheelhouse system allowing the lifting of the mobile equipment 4-5-6, and,
  • a second push-button control system comprising a transmission or wheelhouse system enabling the shutter 12 of the submersible float 6 to be moved relative to the latter.

  • un premier bouton-poussoir 15 mobile verticalement et logé dans une coupelle 16 appelée à être installée fixement dans une ouverture 17 ménagée dans le couvercle 18 du réservoir ;
  • un ressort 19 agissant en compression et tendant à repousser le bouton-poussoir 15 vers l'extérieur, c'est-à-dire vers le haut ; ce ressort étant par exemple calé, par l'intermédiaire de ses extrémités opposées, d'une part, contre la face inférieure 15a dudit bouton-poussoir et, d'autre part, contre le fond 16a de la coupelle 16 ;
  • la tige de transmission 14 qui peut être entrainée en translation axiale vers le bas, par le bouton-poussoir 15, cette tige de transmission traversant longitudinalement l'équipage mobile 4-5-6 ;
According to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5, the control system allowing the lifting of the mobile assembly 4-5-6, comprises:
  • a first push button 15 movable vertically and housed in a cup 16 called to be fixedly installed in an opening 17 formed in the cover 18 of the tank;
  • a spring 19 acting in compression and tending to push the push-button 15 outwards, that is to say upwards; this spring being for example wedged, by means of its opposite ends, on the one hand, against the lower face 15a of said push-button and, on the other hand, against the bottom 16a of the cup 16;
  • the transmission rod 14 which can be driven in axial translation downwards, by the push button 15, this transmission rod passing longitudinally through the moving assembly 4-5-6;
  • and a lifting member 20 mounted with a pivotability at the lower end of the transmission rod 14 and disposed below the valve 5 and the opercular flange 12a of the shutter; this lifting member is, for example, constituted by a cam or by a small lever of the first type, the oscillation axis 21 of which is carried by a cross member 22 fixedly disposed through the evacuation orifice E of the base 8, below the seat 7 of the valve 5.

The seat 7 of the valve 5 and the upper edge of the resistance arm of the tilting lever 20 are reciprocally positioned, so that when the moving element 4-5-6 is in the low inactive position, it rests, by the intermediate the underside of said valve, on the edge of the drain orifice E, while the opercular flange 12a is slightly away from its seat 4a, so as to reserve a space between the latter and said seat and at open the lower overflow opening A, said opercular flange resting on the upper edge of said resistance arm of the tilting lever 20, as explained in document FR-A-2,658,844.

The transmission rod 14 may be integral in translation with the push-button 15, or its upper end may simply be placed below a part of said push-button so as to be moved axially downwards, when pressing said push button. According to the example illustrated, the push-button 15 comprises a drive finger 15b disposed above the upper end of the rod 14, in contact with or at very short distance from said end.

  • un ressort 24 agissant en compression et tendant à repousser le bouton-poussoir 23 vers l'extérieur, c'est-à-dire vers le haut ; ce ressort étant par exemple calé, par l'intermédiaire de ses extrémités opposées, d'une part, contre la face inférieure 23a dudit bouton-poussoir et, d'autre part, contre le fond 16a de la coupelle 16 ;
The control system allowing the movement of the shutter 12 of the submersible float 6, relative to said float, comprises:
  • a second push button 23 movable vertically and housed in the cup 16,
  • a spring 24 acting in compression and tending to push the push-button 23 outwards, that is to say upwards; this spring being for example wedged, by means of its opposite ends, on the one hand, against the lower face 23a of said push button and, on the other hand, against the bottom 16a of the cup 16;
  • a tubular push rod 25, arranged around the transmission rod 14, and which can be driven in axial translation downwards, by the push button 23; the lower end 25a of this rod being disposed above and at a distance from the top 12b of the shutter 12, in the rest position of the mechanism. In addition, this rod is dimensioned so that in the active position, it limits the upward movement of the shutter 12, relative to that of the float 6.

The tubular push rod 25 is integral in translation with the push button 23, to which it is, for example, removably secured by means of an assembly of the groove and tenon type. On the other hand, this tubular rod is advantageously made in two parts assembled by a thread 25a, so as to allow an adjustment of the length of said rod.

  • l'enfoncement du bouton-poussoir 15 n'exerce aucune action sur le bouton-poussoir 23 ;
According to an important characteristic of the invention, the push-buttons are shaped and arranged so that:
  • pressing the push button 15 has no action on the push button 23;
  • while pressing the push button 23, automatically pushes the push button 15.

Selon le mode d'exécution illustré aux figures 1 à 5, le bouton-poussoir 23 comporte un doigt 23b disposé au-dessus et pratiquement au contact du doigt 15b du bouton-poussoir 15.According to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5, the push button 23 includes a finger 23b disposed above and practically in contact with the finger 15b of the push button 15.

According to another characteristic arrangement of the invention, means are provided for momentarily immobilizing the lifting control system of the moving element 4-5-6 and the positioning control system of the shutter 12, in their position d 'opening.

According to the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 5, these means are constituted by a complementary arrangement of the cup 16 and the push button 23. For example, the peripheral wall of the cup 16 may be provided with a small tooth or boss 26 intended to cooperate with a notch or notch 27 with which the push button 23 is laterally provided.

To allow them to be distinguished from one another, the pushbuttons 15 and 23 can have a different coloring, or have, on their face upper, a literal or graphic marker or symbol allowing them to be identified instantly.

The operation of the dual control flushing mechanism which has just been described is explained below.

  • l'équipage mobile 4-5-6 est en position basse, le clapet 5 repose sur son siège 7 et obture l'orifice de vidange E ; d'autre part, le bouton-poussoir 15 et la tige de transmission 14 sont en position haute ;
During the busy or inactive period (Figure 1):
  • the moving assembly 4-5-6 is in the low position, the valve 5 rests on its seat 7 and closes the drain orifice E; on the other hand, the push button 15 and the transmission rod 14 are in the high position;
  • the opercular collar 12a of the shutter 12 is slightly away from its seat 4a and rests on the resistance arm of the rocking lever 20; on the other hand, the push button 23 and the push rod 25 are in the high position.

L'eau remplit également les espaces C et D.At the end of filling, the level N of the water contained in the tank is generally located a little below the location where the upper end of the overflow tube 4 is located, so that it can fill its function in the event of faulty closing of the supply valve. Water also fills spaces C and D.

When it is desired to carry out a complete emptying of the reservoir, by pressing the push-button 15, the transmission rod 14 is lowered and the lever 20 is tilted, the resistance arm of which pivots upwards, driving, firstly, the lifting of the shutter 12 which closes the orifice A and, secondly, the lifting of the valve 5 and of the moving assembly 4-5-6. The water flows towards the drain orifice E through the openings made between the base of the bell 3 and the upper surface of the base 8 and, passing under the float 6, communicates an additional upward movement to the latter, of which the upward movement is stopped by the top 3a of the outer bell 3 against which the upper part of said float abuts (FIG. 4), the shutter 12 remaining pressed against its seat under the effect of the pressure of the water which cannot enter the float.

When the push button 15 is released, it goes up under the action of the spring 19, causing a corresponding upward movement of the transmission rod 12 if the latter is mechanically subject to said push button, while the tilting lever 20 returns to its initial position, or without this modifying the position of said rod and of said lever, otherwise.

Le clapet 5 se trouve de nouveau appliqué sur son siège 7 et ferme l'orifice d'évacuation ; d'autre part, la retombée du flotteur entraine le pivotement du levier 20 vers le bas et la remontée de la tige 14, si cette dernière n'est pas assujettie au bouton-poussoir 15.During a complete emptying of the tank, the mobile assembly 4-5-6 remains in the high position as long as the buoyancy of the float 6 remains ensured; at the end of emptying, the water level gradually drops and said mobile assembly naturally falls back into its rest position (FIG. 1) when there is no more water in the tank and the float's lift does not is more assured. The valve 5 is again applied to its seat 7 and closes the discharge orifice; on the other hand, the fall of the float causes the lever 20 to pivot downwards and the rod 14 to rise, if the latter is not subject to the push button 15.

When it is desired to obtain a half-emptying or partial emptying of the reservoir, the push-button 23 is pressed, which simultaneously causes the push-button 15 to be pressed.

The depressing of the push button 15 ensures the lifting of the mobile assembly 4-5-6, as has just been explained, while the depressing of the push button 23 and the downward movement of the rod 25, have as a consequence of limiting movement ascending of the shutter 12 relative to that of the float 6, so that the opercular flange 12a of said shutter is located away from its seat 4a, which has the effect of opening the lower orifice A of said float (FIG. 5) . It quickly fills with water. During this filling, the two control systems are immobilized in the open position by the action of the locking device 26-27.

D'autre part, après la retombée du flotteur 6, la collerette operculaire 12a de l'obturateur 12, demeure éloignée de son siège 4a, ce qui maintient l'orifice A en position d'ouverture et permet la vidange du flotteur 6.When the water fills the float 6, the buoyancy of the latter is no longer ensured, and it falls back under the effect of its own weight, causing, in addition to the closure of the discharge orifice E and the interruption of emptying, tilting of the resistance arm of the lever 20 upwards, raising of the transmission rod 14 which pushes the push button 15 upwards, which in turn pushes the push button 23 upwards , by causing the unlocking of the momentary immobilization device 26-27. The spring 19 then ensures the complete ascent of the push button 15, while the spring 24 ensures the complete ascent of the push button 23 and that of the push rod 25. On the other hand, after the fall of the float 6, the opercular flange 12a of the shutter 12, remains distant from its seat 4a, which keeps the orifice A in the open position and allows the emptying of the float 6.

En position de repos, la semelle 29 se trouve disposée au-dessus et à très faible distance ou au contact, de la platine 30.According to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 11, the push button 15 of the control system allowing the lifting of the movable assembly 4-5-6, drives a transmission rod arranged vertically. Advantageously, this transmission rod is produced in two separate parts. The upper part or rod 28 is subject to the push button 15 and its lower end is provided with a discoidal support sole 29. The lower part or rod 31 is arranged in alignment with the previous one and its upper end is provided with a discoidal drive plate 30. In the rest position, the sole 29 is located above and at a very short distance or in contact with the plate 30.

On the lower rod 31 is fixed, by means of a joint 32, one of the ends of a pivoting lever 33 fixed, by means of a joint 34, on a frame 35 in the form of a gantry, rigidly secured to the 'outer casing 1 of the mechanism. The other end of the pivoting lever 33 is connected, by a hinge 36, to the upper end of a drive rod 37. The lower end of this drive rod passes through the passage 13 formed in the upper bar 12b shutter 12, and it is provided with a traction heel 38 trapped inside the body of said shutter.

On the other hand, the push button 23 of the control system allowing the movement of the shutter 12 of the submersible float 6, drives a transmission rod arranged vertically. This transmission rod is also, interestingly, executed in two separate parts. The upper part or rod 39 is assembled with the push button 23 and its lower end is provided with a discoidal support sole 40. On the other hand, the lower part or rod 42 is arranged in alignment with the previous one and its upper end is provided with a discoidal drive plate 41.

In the rest position, the sole 40 is located above and at a very short distance, or in contact, with the drive plate 41. In this position, a portion 41a of the periphery of the head 41 is placed at the -above and at a very short distance, or in contact, with part 30a of the periphery of the head 30.

The lower end of the lower rod 42 is subject to a horizontally oriented lateral arm 43 which, on the other hand, is integral with the upper part of a tubular push rod 44, disposed around the drive rod 37; the lower end 44a of this push rod being disposed above and at a distance from the upper bar 12b of the shutter 12, in the rest position of the mechanism.

D'autre part, la tige de poussée 44 est dimensionnée de manière qu'en position active, elle limite le déplacement ascensionnel de l'obturateur 12, par rapport au mouvement ascendant du flotteur 6.On the other hand, the push rod 44 is dimensioned so that in the active position, it limits the upward movement of the shutter 12, relative to the upward movement of the float 6.

According to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 11, the means making it possible to temporarily immobilize the lifting control system of the moving element 4-5-6 and the movement control system of the shutter 12, in their open position, are constituted by a complementary arrangement of the lateral arm 43 and a vertical tongue 45, oriented downwards, with which the mount 35 is provided, at its upper part. For example, the tongue 45 may be provided with a small tooth or boss 46 intended to cooperate with a notch or notch 47 with which the arm 43 is laterally provided.

Means are provided for guiding the rods of the two control systems.

For the upper rods 28 and 39, these means are, for example, constituted by small wells 48, 49 with which the bottom of the cup 16 is provided and in which sleeves 50 and 51 can slide, attached to the underside of the buttons. pushers 15 and 23, and in which is engaged the upper end of said upper rods 28 and 29, respectively.

Les tiges inférieures 31, 42 sont guidées par des passages à axes verticaux 52, 53, respectivement, ménagés à la partie supérieure de la monture 35.The lower rods 31, 42 are guided by passages with vertical axes 52, 53, respectively, formed at the upper part of the frame 35.

The upper end of the actuating rod 44 is guided in a collar with a vertical axis 54 presented by the upper part of said frame.

The transmission rods 28-31 and 39-42 are fixed in an adjustable manner to the members to which they are attached. For this purpose, the upper transmission rods 28 and 39 are assembled by screwing to the sleeves 50, 51 of the push buttons 15, 23, respectively. On the other hand, the lower transmission rod 31 is assembled, by screwing, to a nut 56 which carries the hinge pin 32 of the lever 33, while the lower transmission rod 42 has a thread through which it is fixed in a thread with a vertical axis with which the arm 43 is provided.

  • l'équipage mobile 4-5-6 est en position basse, le clapet 5 repose sur son siège 7 et obture l'orifice de vidange E ; d'autre part, le bouton-poussoir 15, la tige supérieure 28 et la tige inférieure 31 sont en position haute, tandis que la tige d'actionnement 37 est en position basse ;
  • la collerette operculaire 12a de l'obturateur 12 est légèrement éloignée de son siège 4a, ledit obturateur se trouvant suspendu à la tige 37 ;
During the busy or inactive period (Figure 6):
  • the moving assembly 4-5-6 is in the low position, the valve 5 rests on its seat 7 and closes the drain orifice E; on the other hand, the push button 15, the upper rod 28 and the lower rod 31 are in the high position, while the actuating rod 37 is in the low position;
  • the opercular collar 12a of the shutter 12 is slightly away from its seat 4a, said shutter being suspended from the rod 37;
  • the push button 23, the upper rod 39, the lower rod 42 and the actuation rod 44 are in the high position, the lower end 44a of said actuation rod being disposed at a distance from the perforated bar or upper wall Shutter 12b 12.

When it is desired to carry out a complete emptying of the reservoir, the push-button 15 is pressed, which causes the upper rod 28 and the lower rod 31 to descend, the pivoting lever 33 to tilt and the upward axial displacement of the actuating rod 37 which, by means of its heel 38, exerts a tensile force on the upper bar 12b of the shutter 12 which, by means of its opercular flange 12a ensures the lifting of the crew mobile 4-5-6 allowing the evacuation of the water contained in the tank (figure 9).

When the push-button 15 is released, it goes up under the action of the spring 19, without this having any influence on the other members of the control mechanism.

La retombée de l'équipage mobile provoque un mouvement axial descendant de la tige d'actionnement 37, le basculement en sens inverse du levier pivotant 33 et la remontée de la tige inférieure 31 dont la platine 30 vient se replacer juste au-dessous ou au contact de la semelle 29 de la tige supérieure 28.During a complete emptying of the tank, the mobile assembly 4-5-6 remains in the high position as long as the buoyancy of the float 6 remains ensured; at the end of emptying, the water level gradually drops and said mobile assembly naturally falls back into its rest position (FIG. 6) when there is no more water in the tank and the float's lift does not is more assured. The fallout of the movable assembly causes an axial movement descending from the actuating rod 37, the tilting in the opposite direction of the pivoting lever 33 and the ascent of the lower rod 31 whose plate 30 comes to be replaced just below or at contact of the sole 29 of the upper rod 28.

When it is desired to obtain a half-emptying or partial emptying of the reservoir, the push-button 23 is pressed, which causes (FIG. 10) the descent of the upper rod 39 which simultaneously causes: on the one hand, the descent of the lower rod 42 and, on the other hand, the descent of the rod lower 31 which is in fact driven downwards by the support exerted on its head 30, by the head 41 of the rod 42.

Le déplacement axial descendant de la tige inférieure 31 entraine, comme indiqué précédemment, le soulèvement de l'équipage mobile 4-5-6.The downward axial movement of the lower rod 31 causes, as indicated above, the lifting of the mobile assembly 4-5-6.

On the other hand, the descent of the lower rod 42 causes an axial downward movement of the tubular rod 44 which has the effect of limiting the upward axial movement of the shutter 12 relative to that of the float 6, so that the flange opercular 12a of said shutter is remote from its seat 4a, which has the effect of opening the lower orifice A of said float. It quickly fills with water. During this filling, the two control systems are immobilized in the open position by the action of the locking device 46-47.

When the water fills the float 6, the buoyancy of the latter is no longer ensured and it falls back under the effect of its weight and its ballast, ensuring the closure of the evacuation orifice E and the emptying interruption. The fallout of the moving assembly 4-5-6 causes, as indicated previously, an axial movement descending from the actuating rod 37, the tilting in the opposite direction of the lever 33 and the raising of the lower transmission rod 31. D on the other hand, the ascent of the lower transmission rod 31 also ensures the ascent of the lower transmission rod 42, the head 41 of the latter being, in fact, pushed upwards by the underlying edge of the head 30 of the first; the force of this thrust being clearly greater than the retaining force exerted by the locking means 46-47, the latter are neutralized (see detail in FIG. 11), and the rising of the lower transmission rod 42 causes an upward axial movement of the tubular actuating rod 44 of which it is integral.

When the push button 23 is released, immediately after being pressed, it rises under the action of the spring 24, without this having any influence on the position of the other members of the dual control system.

It is observed that due to the absence of mechanical connection between the upper transmission rods 28, 39 and the lower transmission rods 31, 42, respectively, one can press one or the other of the push buttons 15 and 23 , without this having an influence on the position of the other organs of the dual control system and on the course of the flushing process, as can be seen better in FIG. 11. The volumes of water evacuated are constant and the emptying cannot be interrupted when push button 23 has been pressed.

The float 6, the shutter 12 and the annular passage A formed between the body of said shutter and the edge of the lower opening of the overflow tube, are dimensioned so that the filling of said float and its fallout after having open said passage, take place in a time corresponding to the emptying of half the volume of available water contained in the tank.
