- the invention has for its object to provide an ejection device for a tube, in particular for ejecting objects from a torpedo tube of a submersible submarine, which manages with small amounts of the pressure media to be used, in which a depth-dependent control is not necessary and which is is largely free of gushes.
- a tube of relatively small diameter is arranged in the ejection tube next to the object to be ejected, in which a piston is displaceable by means of the pressure medium used, said tube having a slot over substantially its entire length, through which a protrudes the piston connected driver approach, which acts directly or via a driver arm on the object to be ejected.

- the tube 1 is intended for receiving and ejecting an object or object, such as an armament 7, for example in the form of a torpedo shown in FIGS. 1 and 6.
- an ejection device is shown, in which the opening of the bottom lock 6 is so large that after insertion of the armament 7, the piston 8 can be used with the driver 8a parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube 1 and the driver 8a attacks the outside of the armament 7.
- Pressure bottle 10 and water cylinder 12 are located inside the tube 1.
- an ejection device is shown in which the opening of the bottom closure 6 is not so large that the piston 8 can be loaded in the direction of the longitudinal axis, as can occur, for example, with older torpedo tubes.
- the slotted tube 14 is therefore divided and provided with a rotary bearing 17 so that its inner end for inserting the piston 8 into the opening of the bottom closure is pivotable.
- a thrust arm 18 is attached to the driver 8a, which acts centrally on the armament 7.
- the possibility of arranging compressed air bottle 10 and water cylinder 12 on the outside of the torpedo tube is also shown here.
- the pressure medium flows e.g. B. water from the water cylinder 12 through the opening 13 in the space between the end plate 20, slotted tube 14 and tongue seal 19, which abuts the slot 28 of the slotted tube 14 and pushes the piston 8, which may be provided with a seal on the end face, ahead .
- the piston 8 as a rotating part can be made of steel and the driver 8a can be made of investment casting, both parts being firmly connected by screws.
- the ejection device can also be operated only with compressed air bottles or with compressed air from the on-board supply of the submarine.
- the pressure of the surrounding water prevails in the tube 1 and in the part of the slotted tube 14 which lies in front of the piston 8.
- the driving pressure medium is supplied through the opening 13 behind the piston at a considerably higher pressure of, for example, 150 bar.
- the tongue seal 19 is raised and pressed against the slot 28 of the slotted tube 14.
- the piston can be beveled on its front end at least to the width of the tongue seal 19 and can be provided with rollers (not shown) and / or coatings which promote the sliding of the tongue.
- the volume of the slotted tube 14 can be between 0.5 and 5%, preferably between 0.8 and 3% of the total volume of the torpedo tube over the same length, due to the high pressure of the pressure medium . At very high pressure, the volume of the tube 14 can also be less than 0.5%, in accordance with this pressure. Due to the small volume of the tube 14, when water is used as the pressure medium, only an insignificant surge is produced during the discharge. Even when using compressed air as the pressure medium, surge and air volume are significantly smaller than if the discharge takes place in a conventional manner by introducing compressed air into the entire cross section of the tube 1.
- the pipe sections 26 are screwed together on the flanges 27.
- a slotted tube 14 with a tongue seal 19 is provided for each tube 26 and extends over the entire length of the tube 1.
- Behind each armament 7 or each starting container 25, a piston 8 is arranged in the associated slotted tube 14, the driver projection 8a of which protrudes into the tube 26 and engages the container 25.
- the continuous tongue seal 19 is carried out through all the recesses 29, the driver lugs 8a assigned to a tube 26.

- the piston 11 is locked in its end position and closes the associated opening in order to avoid pressure losses in the pipe 14 when the subsequent container is ejected.
- a check valve is installed in front of the opening 13 in order to avoid pressure losses during the subsequent discharge.
- the slotted tube 14 and the piston 8 can also have a rectangular cross section.
- a tube 1 with starting containers can also be operated outside the pressure hull of a submarine, especially when it is not important that the armaments 7 be refilled from the inside of the boat.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an ejection device in a tube, in particular in a torpedo tube of a submarine, which is effective over the entire length of the tube.
For example, pneumatic or hydraulic methods are known from German Offenlegungsschriften 31 22 631, 33 33 614 and 34 02 619, in which a torpedo is expelled by compressed air or water directed into the tube directly behind the torpedo. When compressed air is used, a large volume of air that is controlled by the depth is released into the water, whereby the air bubbles are easily recognizable and can thus betray the submarine. When using water, very powerful pumps or very large storage tanks are required.
In DE-AS 12 77 063, an ejection device is proposed in which there are carriers guided on rollers in a number of grooves distributed around the circumference of the tube, these carrier rollers being intended to be moved by the inflation of inserted hoses. From this, the use of a driver device driven by a pressure medium for the objects to be ejected is known, but this solution is mechanically complex and, due to the uncertainties in the advance of the rollers in the grooves, is not sufficiently reliable and reliable due to the pressure wave generated in the tubes.
The invention has for its object to provide an ejection device for a tube, in particular for ejecting objects from a torpedo tube of a submersible submarine, which manages with small amounts of the pressure media to be used, in which a depth-dependent control is not necessary and which is is largely free of gushes.
To achieve this object, a tube of relatively small diameter is arranged in the ejection tube next to the object to be ejected, in which a piston is displaceable by means of the pressure medium used, said tube having a slot over substantially its entire length, through which a protrudes the piston connected driver approach, which acts directly or via a driver arm on the object to be ejected. When the piston moves, the slot in the small tube is sealed by a tongue seal which lies inside the tube and is pressed against the slot from the inside by the piston and the pressure medium driving the piston.
While in the known solutions in which a pressure medium acts directly on the torpedoes, only a limited pressure difference with respect to the outside water pressure is permissible, very high pressures with small volumes of the pressure media used can also be used according to the invention for driving the piston in the slotted tube. This results in the advantage that the ambient water pressure at immersion depth is so low compared to the drive pressure that no pressure control dependent on the immersion depth is required. If air is blown into the slotted tube as the drive medium for the piston, the amount of air required is approximately 90% less than in the known method, which significantly reduces the risk of treachery. The volumes of the print media to be stored are also considerably smaller. The pressures are greater than in the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the torpedo tube to the slotted tube than in known solutions and are to be selected in accordance with the desired and permissible outlet speeds.
The piston in the slotted tube can be driven directly by compressed air from an air bottle, which can usually still be accommodated within the discharge tube, or, if appropriate, from the on-board supply system for compressed air. An embodiment is preferred which comprises an air bottle and a water cylinder. In this case, compressed air is passed through a so-called firing valve into the water cylinder and there displaces a piston which presses the water into the slotted tube and moves the piston of the driver device in the slotted tube essentially over the entire length of the discharge tube. For safety's sake and because of leakage losses, the water volume in the water cylinder is larger than is theoretically required for pushing the piston with the driver out of the slotted pipe. Nevertheless, with conventional ejection tubes, the air bottle and water cylinder can still be accommodated within the ejection tube. As a result, an advantageous saving in weight and space is achieved. As a result, a device according to the invention is also very suitable for retrofitting in drain pipes from which a torpedo normally starts with its own drive. In principle, however, the air bottle and water cylinder can also be arranged outside the exhaust pipe.
In a special embodiment, the invention also enables the arrangement of several objects or containers in succession in an ejection tube. The pistons can be moved one after the other in a single slotted tube, but each piston or object is assigned a separate water cylinder and a pressure bottle. In a further modification, several objects or containers with a smaller diameter can be accommodated in separate guide tubes within the discharge tube, in which case a slotted tube is assigned to each guide tube. Shorter containers of small diameter can also be arranged one behind the other in the guide tubes. Here, too, a piston with driver as well as a water cylinder and a compressed gas bottle are provided for each container.
Further details of the invention emerge from the claims and are described with reference to the preferred exemplary embodiments shown schematically in the accompanying drawings.

In the exemplary embodiments shown, the ejection tube 1 is held, for example, a torpedo tube in a
The ejection process of an
Druckflasche 10 und Wasserzylinder 12 befinden sich innerhalb des Rohres 1.1 to 4, an ejection device is shown, in which the opening of the
Hier ist auch die Möglichkeit dargestellt, Druckluftflasche 10 und Wasserzylinder 12 außen am Torpedorohr anzuordnen.6 to 8, an ejection device is shown in which the opening of the
During the ejection process, the pressure medium flows e.g. B. water from the
Versions with compressed air cylinders and water cylinders are shown in the drawings. The ejection device can also be operated only with compressed air bottles or with compressed air from the on-board supply of the submarine.
After opening the
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 9 to 12,
A tube 1 with starting containers can also be operated outside the pressure hull of a submarine, especially when it is not important that the
