Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a modular shockproof slab in particular for sports halls, play areas, reception areas for saints, etc. which can be arranged horizontally to constitute by assembly a floor covering, but also in certain specific cases, against vertical walls.
  • Tiles of this type are known, constituted by rubber modules making it possible to absorb shocks and to avoid deterioration caused by falling pieces of metal or any other material.
  • These modules are made up of a shock-absorbing sub-layer, for example of foam rubber in contact with the ground, and a reinforced shock layer resistant to high pressures and high shears, occurring during the fall of heavy parts.
  • the purpose of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to this end relates to a slab of the aforementioned type which according to the invention consists of a semi-rigid honeycomb structure composed of vertical ribs connected to each other at their upper part by a horizontal flexible fabric capable of undergoing a relative deformation in compression, as a function of a vertical load.
  • the relative compression deformation of the vertical ribs is obtained by compromise between the height of the rib, its width, its thickness and the nature of the material.
  • the horizontal flexible fabric is produced set back from the upper part of the ribs and is subdivided into as many parts of fabric as there are cells which they close so as to leave an apparent height of ribs, determined by the upper plane of the canvas part and the top of said rib to form a non-slip surface.
  • the visible tops of the ribs delimit with the fabric honeycomb housings at the bottom of which is produced at least one non-slip stud leaving in said honeycomb housing at least one groove for the flow of a liquid.
  • the honeycomb structure forming said slab is obtained in a single piece during the same operation of molding an elastomer.
  • Such slabs are connected together, to form a floor covering, by a mooring system.
  • such a mooring system for the implementation of the slabs according to the invention consists of four feet of shape and dimensions corresponding to four corner cells of four slabs of cellular structure to be joined, in which they are fit together during assembly, said feet being interconnected by bridges.
  • Such a system is advantageously carried out by monoblock molding of an elastomer having the same mechanical characteristics as the slabs to be joined.
  • the slab 1 partially shown in Figures 1 and 2 consists of a semi-rigid honeycomb structure composed of vertical ribs 2, forming perpendicular crosspieces, and connected together by a horizontal flexible canvas 3 at their upper part 2a, during of the same molding operation.
  • Such a structure is capable of undergoing a relative deformation in compression, as a function of a vertical load F, which is obtained by compromise between the height h of the rib 2, its width 1, its thickness e and the nature of the material used.
  • a structure constituted by a flexible plane supported vertically by vertical walls in this case the ribs 2 capable of undergoing buckling as a function of a vertical load F, allows an energy absorption equal to or greater than 30 joules under an impact of 500 kg for 10 cm2. Such absorption corresponds to the fall of a man falling from a height of 2.50 m on his two heels. It is obvious that if larger falls were planned, other dimensions would be given to the honeycomb structure.
  • the flexible fabric 3 is produced set back from the upper part 4 of the ribs 2 and is subdivided into as many parts of fabric 3 as there are cells.
  • the canvas parts 3 thus close the latter so as to leave an apparent height h1 of rib 2, determined by the upper plane 3a and the top 4 of said rib 2 to advantageously constitute a non-slip surface.
  • the visible tops 4 of the ribs 2 delimit with the fabric 3 honeycomb housings 5 at the bottom of which is molded at least one non-slip stud 6 leaving in each honeycomb housing 5 considered, at least one liquid flow groove.
  • the studs 6 are four in number and are square in shape. They are arranged in a checkerboard pattern in each honeycomb housing 5 and delimit between them two perpendicular grooves 7 and 8 which intersect at their center and open at their respective ends in a peripheral groove 9 whose external rim is formed by the rim of said alveolar housing 5 , in this case the top 4 of the ribs 2.
  • a central discharge hole 10 is provided at the intersection of the perpendicular grooves.
  • the slab 1 has an upper outer rim 11, rounded so as to eliminate the walking effect.
  • the honeycomb structure comprises ribs 2 bearing on the ground at the lower part 2b, openings 12 putting the cells in communication with each other, in order to allow the free circulation of liquid under the covering constituted by the tiles 1.
  • the slabs 1 thus defined are obtained in a single piece during the same operation of molding an elastomer. They are interconnected to form a floor covering by a mooring system 20 designated as a whole.
  • Figures 3 and 4 show such a mooring system 20 consisting of four feet 21 of shape and dimensions corresponding to four corner cells of four slabs 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, with honeycomb structure as described above and in which cells fit the feet 21 during assembly.
  • the feet 21 are interconnected by bridges 22 connecting arranged at the base of said feet 21, in their transverse axis and have a section 23 corresponding to the openings 12 formed in the lower part 2b of the ribs 2 which overlap them during assembly.
  • the slabs 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D .. lay on the ground on the same plane as the systems 20 which connect them, ensuring a uniform range of the assembly.
  • the feet 21 are spaced apart from each other by a value substantially equal to the thicknesses "e" of two ribs 2 of two corner cells, of two adjacent slabs 1.
  • an evacuation hole 25 is drilled in its center.
  • the free ends of the said feet 21 have a bevel 26.
  • the mooring system 20 which has just been described is obtained in a single piece during the same molding operation of the same elastomer as that used for molding slabs 1. Thus, the feet 21 cannot constitute hard spots under the tiles 1.
  • a floor covering with such slabs 1 assembled with such mooring systems 20 is easily produced whatever the geometry of the room and the obstacles to be circumvented, such as support pillars for example. Indeed, such a material can be cut on demand by a cutting tool in line with each cell without loss of aesthetics or efficiency of the slab concerned because each cell constituting slab 1 has its own characteristics and is entirely independent of other cells.
