Definitions

  • advertising letters which have an outer part and an inner part, the outer part being in the form of two wings which can be opened and folded again along a common folded edge.
  • the inner part of these advertising letters also has the shape of two wings, which can at least partially be unfolded along a common folded edge.
  • the common fold edge of the inner wing and the common fold edge of the outer wing are turned away from each other.
  • Each of the wings of the inner part is glued to the adjacent wing of the outer part on a surface area facing away from their common folded edge.
  • Each wing of the inner part points in the vicinity of the glue point, i.e. the junction with the adjacent outer wing, each have a fold that is aligned parallel to their common fold.
  • Such an advertising letter is evident, for example, from US-A-4949482.
  • the inner wings are also unfolded at the same time.
  • the length of the inner wings between their common fold and the fold in the vicinity of the glue point is greater, equal or less than the distance from the common fold of the outer wings to the fold point in the vicinity of the glue point of the inner wings, there are different ones Ways in which such letters open up.
  • the said ratio is greater than 1, the outer wings can be opened up to the extended position in which they lie in a common plane.
  • the inner wings rise like a ridge roof over the joint rebate edge of the outer wings.
  • the ridge height depends on how much that Numerical ratio deviates from the value 1. If the numerical ratio is 1, both the outer wings and the inner wings can be opened up to the extended position. If the number ratio is less than 1, the outer wings can only be unfolded until the inner wings have reached their extended position.
  • the outside of the inner wing is available for advertising purposes and the surface section of the outer wing that extends from the folded edge next to the gluing point of the inner wing to the free edge of the outer wing.
  • the area sections located between the inner wings and the area sections covered by them on the inside of the outer wings can only be used to a very limited extent for advertising purposes, because these area sections are more or less covered by the inner wings when the advertising letter is opened. The possible uses of these advertising letters are therefore limited to a relatively small proportion of the area in comparison with the total area of the outer wing and inner wing actually present.
  • advertising effect of these letters therefore lies more in the fact that such advertising letters address the play instinct of the recipient through the automatic opening of the inner wings when the outer wings are opened.
  • these advertising letters do not contain any part of the letter that can be made independent and then used alone for any purpose and e.g. can be returned to the sender as an order form, reply card, order card, etc.
  • the invention has for its object a sales letter, which is equipped with outer parts and inner parts, which unfold together when the outer parts are unfolded be designed in such a way that it offers further use beyond the information content of these parts.
  • the removal part there is an additional part of the letter which can be used in different ways.
  • the removal part which is accommodated in the inner part in the folded state of the advertising letter, is pushed out through the removal opening on the inner part to a greater or lesser extent from the removal opening when the wings of the outer part are opened and the wings of the inner part are unfolded in the opposite direction because the distance between the joint fold of the inner wing and the joint fold of the outer wing is reduced. Then the removal part can be removed completely from it without further notice.
  • This process namely that the removal part comes out of the inner part more or less, draws the letter recipient's attention to the removal part and speaks to his play instinct and thereby increases the willingness of the letter recipient to grasp the removal part and pull it out completely.
  • This in turn also increases the willingness of the letter recipient to use the removal part in the manner intended by the letter sender, for example to fill it out as an order form or order card and send it back to the sender.
  • the inner part is very simple and thus very simple and easy to manufacture.
  • the narrow surface strips adjoining the primary fold form a guide for the removal part with their adhesive-free length section lying in the middle and the length sections adjoining and glued to one another, especially in the case that the removal part has such a width, that it is already in the collapsed flat inner part into the glue-free area of the narrow surface strips extends.
  • An embodiment according to claim 7 gives versatile uses and uses for the removal part.
  • the parts of the sales letter are connected from the start in the common cut, so that they do not have to be assembled from individual parts.
  • the advertising letter is created in a kind of wrapping or liporello folding process.
  • the advertising letters consist of an outer part 101, an inner part 102 and a removal part 103.
  • the advertising letters may be other parts in individual cases, each of which will be dealt with separately.
  • the outer part 101 has two wings, which are referred to below as outer wings 104 and 105 for better differentiation from other parts. These two outer wings adjoin one another along a common fold line 106.
  • the two outer wings 104 and 105 can be folded relative to one another about this fold line 106, i.e. folded or folded or unfolded or unfolded.
  • the inner part 102 has two surface sections, which are referred to below as inner wings 107 and 108. These inner wings also adjoin one another along a common fold line 109, along which they can be folded or folded relative to one another, as is the case with the outer wings 104 and 105. On each of the two inner wings 107 and 108, a surface section adjoins the edge remote from the fold line 109, which runs parallel to the fold line 109, which are referred to below as secondary surface sections 111 and 112, in order to better connect them to the primary surface sections differentiate, which form the inner wings 107 and 108.
  • each inner wing and the associated secondary surface section and 114 are referred to below as secondary fold 113 and 114, in order to be able to differentiate them better from the primary fold 109.
  • the secondary folds 113 and 114 run parallel to the primary fold 109.
  • the removal part 103 is, at least partially, arranged in the interior of the inner part 102.
  • an elongate removal opening 115 through which the removal part 103 extends in part and through which it can be removed from the inner part 102.
  • the removal part is shown with straight outline lines and a rectangular outline area. Unless the function as a removal part is hindered, the contour lines can also have a different course.
  • the indication fold line means the geometrical location where a fold is located or where at least one fold should occur if the surface sections or parts of the advertising letter adjoining on both sides are pivoted relative to one another.
  • the indication fold means the physical place where the surface sections or parts adjoining on both sides actually fold relative to each other. This means first of all a pivoting movement of these surface sections or parts around the fold line as the pivot axis. This means that nothing has yet been said about the extent of the pivoting movement, ie about the pivoting angle, and also nothing about the direction of the pivoting or folding movement.
  • the fold is that point or also the area in which one or the other or both surface sections or parts adjoining the fold line carry out a relative pivoting movement with respect to one another with their remaining area, at least in the manner of a bending joint.
  • the fold location and thus the fold itself is defined more precisely by the fact that the part in question is already pre-folded along the fold line. This can be done by folding in narrower sense of the word happen, so that there is a more or less clearly visible crease at this point. However, it can also be done by scoring along the fold line. Finally, this can also be done by adding a row of perforations along the fold line, different values being considered for the length of the perforations and the length of the webs remaining between the perforations.
  • the folds or fold lines are each indicated by a dotted line. Where, due to the kinked surface course of the parts in question, it can be seen anyway that there is a fold, the dotted line is generally omitted for the sake of clarity.
  • length specifications relate to the extent or dimension of the part in question which are measured parallel to the common fold line 106 of the outer wings 104 and 105. Accordingly, latitudes refer to the direction perpendicular to it.
  • the outer part 101 is formed from a single rectangular blank.
  • the common fold 106 of the outer wings 104 and 105 is located in the middle of the width of the blank.
  • the outer wings 104 and 105 therefore have the same width b1 with one another.
  • the inner part 102 is also made from a single rectangular blank. In the middle of the total width of this blank there is a first fold which forms the primary fold 109 of the inner part 102.
  • the distance a1 of the secondary folds 113 and 114 from the fold 106 of the outer part 101 can be selected to be greater or less than or equal to the width b2 of the inner wings 107 and 108.
  • this distance a1 is less than the width b2, the outer wings 104 and 105 can be folded out into the extended position, the inner wings 107 and 108 rise like a ridge roof.
  • the angle of inclination depends on the ratio of the distance a1 to the width b2.
  • the outer wings 104 and 105 can only be folded apart until the inner wings 107 and 108 have reached the stretched position in relation to the primary fold 109.
  • the outer wings 104 and 105 then enclose a more or less large angle between 0 ° and 180 °. If the distance a1 is selected to be equal to the width b2 of the inner wings 107 and 108, both the outer wings 104 and 105 and the inner wings 107 and 108 can be folded apart into their extended position, in which the inner wings rest flat on the inner region of the outer wings.
  • the width b2 of the inner wings 107 and 108 in relation to the width b1 of the outer wings 104 and 105 and the distance a1 of the secondary folds 113 and 114 from the fold 106 of the outer part 101, there are different effects for the inner wings when the advertising letter is folded. If the width b2 is greater than the difference between the width b1 and the distance a1, the inner wings 107 and 108 project beyond the side edge 116 and 117 of the outer wings 104 and 105 by the difference. If the width b2 is smaller than the said difference, the primary fold 109 lies within the side edge 116 and 117 of the outer wings by the difference. If the width b2 is equal to the said difference, the primary fold 109 is flush with the side edges 116 and 117 of the outer wings.
  • the secondary surface sections 111 and 112 serve to connect the inner part 102 to the outer part 101.
  • an adhesive application is attached, by means of which the secondary surface sections are permanently connected to the outer wings.
  • the secondary surface sections 111 and 112 are not connected to any further surface sections or parts on their outer side edge, they do not have to extend beyond the lateral extent of the adhesive application. In the advertising letters shown in FIGS. 1 ... 4, the width b3 of the secondary surface sections 111 and 112 is therefore smaller than the distance a1 between the secondary folds 113 and 114 and the fold 106 of the outer part 101.
  • the inner part 102 has the same length as the outer part 101. At least this is assumed in most of the illustrated embodiments. It should be noted that only for better clarity, the lower and / or the upper edge of the inner part are shown slightly offset from the longitudinal edge 118 or 119 of the outer part 101, although in reality they are flush with one another.
  • the removal part 103 is rectangular. Its length is less than the length 12 of the inner part 102. Its width can be smaller, greater than or equal to the sum of the width b2 of the inner wing and the distance a1. If the width of the extraction part 103 is smaller than this sum When the advertising letter is folded, it lies entirely within the inner part 102. If its width is equal to the said sum, when the advertising letter is folded it extends from the fold 106 to the removal opening 115 and possibly slightly into or through it. If the width of the removal part 103 is greater than the said sum, it protrudes at least by the difference dimension from the removal opening 115.
  • the removal opening 115 has a length 14 which is somewhat larger than the length 13 of the removal part 103.
  • the width w of the removal opening 115 depends on the thickness d3 of the removal part 103.
  • the outer part 121 is designed like the outer part 101.
  • the inner part 122 is partly different from the inner part 102.
  • the removal part 123 is again the same as the removal part 103.

  • a second fold 125 and 126 are arranged at a short distance a2 from the first fold 124. Their direction of folding is opposite to that of the first fold 124.
