Description

The invention relates to a combustion device for heating oil and the like according to the preamble of the main claim.

These combustion devices are known from DE-PS 28 09 415 and have the purpose of bringing about a thorough mixing of the fuel with the combustion air. This is intended to achieve the most efficient possible combustion of the fuel, with a high level of economy being coupled with the most complete possible combustion of the pollutants of the fuel.

In the previously known combustion devices, a burner is held in a housing which is open on its front side, from which fuel emerges during operation of the combustion device. Combustion air continues to flow through the housing during operation of the combustion device. In order to mix the combustion air well To reach the fuel, a baffle plate is arranged between the flame opening of the housing and the burner from which the fuel emerges, which in turn usually has a central opening and several air gaps.

Part of the combustion air reaches the flame through the central opening of the baffle plate, another part through the air gaps in the baffle plate and another part flows to the flame in the gap between the baffle plate and the housing wall.

In the generic DE-PS 28 09 415 in addition, in a cup-like wall arranged on the baffle plate, additional air slots and inwardly directed air baffles are arranged, which are intended to ensure an intensive circular swirling of the air-fuel mixture. The disadvantage is that the flame is very hot and therefore favors the generation of NO x gases.

In order to achieve both a good mixing of the fuel with the combustion air and a recirculation of cool air to the flame, the housing wall at the flame opening is bent inwards in DE-GM 90 03 176.8.

From DE-U-28 09 415 it is known to arrange swirling webs on the burner housing, these swirling webs being arranged stationary on the burner housing and in the interior of the burner housing are directed.

The known from DE-GM 90 03 176.8, inwardly curved housing wall and the DE-U-89 15 398 arranged fixedly on the burner housing swirl webs have the disadvantage that the distance between the baffle plate and the bent housing edge or the swirl web changed when the baffle plate is moved back and forth together with the burner in order to set the burner to different heating outputs. This changes the flow conditions during flame formation and it soot is deposited under unfavorable circumstances.

The invention has for its object to provide a combustion device for heating oil u. To create the. By a particularly intensive swirling of combustion air and fuel, in particular by recirculation on the outside of the flame, enables a particularly efficient and low-pollutant combustion.

By introducing additional air through the recirculation, the combustion flame should be kept particularly cool, so that the formation of NO x gases is drastically reduced. This economical and environmentally compatible combustion should be guaranteed in all operating positions of the combustion device, ie at all possible distances of the baffle plate from the flame opening of the housing.

The object underlying the invention is solved by the teaching of the characterizing part of the main claim.

Vorteilhafte Ausführungen sind in den Unteransprüchen erläutert.Advantageous designs are explained in the subclaims.

In other words, there is a combustion device for heating oil u. The like. Proposed, in which swirl webs are arranged transversely to the flow direction of the fuel-air mixture on a wall which is attached to the baffle plate. This arrangement of the intermingling webs has the advantage that the distance from the flame root, which is located at the bottom of the baffle plate, to the intermingling webs not changed, even if the baffle plate z. B. is shifted axially in the housing when the heating power changes. This ensures that the combustion conditions for the flame are always kept optimal and that the fuel is always swirled well with the combustion air. The recirculation of combustion air in the lateral areas of the flame also lowers the temperature of the flame, so that the formation of toxic NO x gases is reduced.

Due to the constant distance between the baffle plate and the swirling webs, the combustion device according to the invention can be adjusted over a wide range under optimal firing conditions, so that favorable firing conditions occur both at high and at particularly low heating loads.

Fig. 1
eine Verbrennungseinrichtung im Schnitt dargestellt ist, in
Fig. 2
Fig. 3
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is then to be explained with reference to the figures, wherein in
Fig. 1
a combustion device is shown in section, in
Fig. 2
is a sectional view taken along the line 2 - 2 and in
Fig. 3
is a combustion device according to a further embodiment.

Referring to Fig. 1, there is a combustion device for heating oil and. Like. From a housing 1, which narrows conically in its front section. Located at the front end of the housing 1 there is a flame opening 2, from which the flames emerge during operation of the combustion device. Inside the housing 1 there is a holding device 6 which carries a burner (not shown) and an ignition device (not shown). On the holding device 6, a baffle plate 3 is fastened by means of supports 9, which has a central opening 4 and a plurality of air gaps. The baffle plate 3 has a wall 5 on its outer circumference, on which in turn passage openings 7 are arranged. The interior of the housing 1 is in contact, among other things, with the through openings 7 with the outside air, as can be seen, inter alia, from FIG. 2. From this sectional view it is clear that the upper region of the wall 5 is fastened to the lower region of the wall 5 by means of webs 10.

Weiterhin befinden sich die Durchtrittsöffnungen 7, im Gegensatz zu Fig. 1, direkt unterhalb der Verwirbelungsstege 8.3, it should be noted that in the exemplary embodiment shown here, the swirling webs are not arranged at the upper end of the wall 5, but further below. Furthermore, in contrast to FIG. 1, the passage openings 7 are located directly below the swirling webs 8.

For the functioning of the proposed combustion device, it must be stated that combustion air is conducted through the housing 1 in the direction of the flame opening 2 during operation of the combustion device. Fuel emerges through the nozzle of a burner, not shown, which is held in the holding device 6 and mixes with the combustion air.

The combustion air flowing through the housing 1 passes through the central opening 4, through one or more air gaps within the baffle plate 3 and through the passage openings 7 into the area behind the baffle plate 3, in which the flame root is formed. Due to the different flow paths, there is intensive mixing of the fuel-air mixture. An additional mixing takes place through the intermingling webs 8, and a suction is formed behind these. This suction effect has the effect that a recirculation is formed, which leads more cool air to the flame. This cools the flame and, due to this lower temperature, significantly less NO x pollutants are formed than in devices which work with a hotter flame.

In order to set the combustion device to different heating outputs, the holding device 6 together with the burner held therein and the baffle plate 3 can be moved axially back and forth in the housing 1.

If low heating powers are required, the baffle plate 3 is moved forward in the direction of the flame opening 2, so that the passage openings 7 are either completely or partially covered by the wall of the housing 1. As a result, the air flow through the passage openings 7 is partially or completely prevented. So that the passage openings 7 close completely when the baffle plate 3 is fully advanced, it is advantageous if the wall 5 of the baffle plate 3 lies closely against the inner wall of a specific area of the housing 1. In the In the figures shown, this area is located in the immediate area of the flame opening 2 behind the narrowing area of the housing 1.

The baffle plate 3 shown in the drawings and the design of the wall 5 as a ring are merely exemplary embodiments, which of course can also be carried out in a different way. For example, the design of the baffle plate 3 as a polygon is possible.
