Description

The present invention relates to an automatic bottom case and its method of assembly.

The automatic bottom boxes are in a manner known per se, boxes whose bottom flaps are partly glued to each other. These boxes are delivered flat and their implementation is very rapid since it suffices to open them so that their bottom is formed, any bonding means then being unnecessary.

Boxes-bottles are also known per se and consist of a box inside which is disposed a bag generally made of plastic. This type of box is, for example, used for the packaging of powdery products or for the recovery of waste in hospitals. Their success lies in the fact that after filling the bag, it suffices to close it for example by welding before closing the box to very quickly obtain a practical and reliable packaging.

Currently, the case-bottles are often provided with their plastic bag at the time of their use.

For a first model of such boxes, cardboard boxes which do not have an automatic bottom are delivered as well as plastic bags. The user then puts the box himself in shape and places the bag in the bottom of the latter by sticking it or making protruding end portions of it under the box in order to fix them with the flaps of background.

A second model of box-bottles has an automatic bottom. Until now, there has never been an automatic bottom case containing the flat plastic bag because it is not possible to provide means machines capable of inserting the plastic bag into the glued and joined box which is flat.

Indeed, the plastic bag is a thin element and it is difficult to provide a clamp capable of grasping it without piercing it, all the more so because of the static electricity created between the bags, it is necessary to exercise a force large enough to take one from a pile. Another difficulty which arises is that it is quite difficult to drag the bag towards the bottom of the box without it getting in the way or folding back on itself.

For the manufacture of a box-addition with automatic bottom, it is therefore necessary after joining the box, to open it in order to engage and stick to the bottom the plastic bag. This engagement must be made either by a person who passes his arm to the bottom of the box, or by using a mandrel specially designed for this purpose.

Such a case cannot be flattened for delivery so that one must deliver a set of flat cases and a set of bags, which obliges the buyer to have the means allowing the placement of the bags. in the crates.

Document US-A-4,194,439 describes a process for the simultaneous production of two boxes with automatic bottom, from a single cardboard blank and a single plastic bag closed at its two ends. After being made flat, the assembly is cut through the middle to form two symmetrical box-bottles, stored and delivered flat, shaped by lateral pressure, but not capable of being closed by means inherent in the box-bottles.

This is why the present invention tends to propose a box-bottom with automatic bottom of rapid production and which can be totally automated in order to be of an attractive cost and to be able to be delivered flat.

To this end, the invention proposes a box-addition with automatic bottom, in corrugated cardboard, of the type in which a bag is fixed in the box so that the box is delivered flat with the bag inside, characterized in that it comprises an additional plate on which the bag is fixed, said additional plate being fixed to a flap of the automatic bottom of the box so that the box-addition is delivered flat and that upon opening of the body, the automatic bottom is covered by the additional plate.

The box addition according to the invention is also remarkable in that:
  • said additional plate is a quadrilateral of the same shape as the bottom of the box and having the internal dimensions thereof.
  • said additional plate is fixed by gluing to a large flap at the bottom of the box.
  • the bag is fixed in the middle of said additional plate.
  • the end of the bag passes through a slot in said additional plate.
  • the bag is glued to said additional plate.

The invention also relates to a method for assembling the body-box according to the invention, characterized in that:
  • the bag is fixed on the additional plate,
  • the assembly constituted by the additional plate and the bag is put in place, the additional plate then driving the bag, so that the plate is glued to one of the large flaps at the bottom of the box.

According to other characteristics of the invention:
  • the additional plate is inserted by automatic means into the already joined box and placed flat:
  • the cardboard cutout intended to form the box with automatic bottom is laid out flat,
    • . the additional plate is applied to a wide lateral face of the cutout, in the vicinity of the line of articulation of the bottom flap,
    • . we fold the bottom flap to stick it on the additional plate,
    • . the assembly of the body is completed in the usual manner.

The present invention will be better understood from the description which follows with reference to the drawing in which:
  • FIG. 1 represents a cardboard cutout intended for the manufacture of an automatic bottom case,
  • FIG. 2 is a view of the face of the additional plate intended to support the addition,
  • FIG. 3 is a view of the face of the additional plate intended to be supported on the bottom of the box,
  • Figure 4 shows the cardboard blank on which is positioned the additional plate provided with the plastic bag during the manufacture of the box-addition according to the invention.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, and in a manner known per se, a cardboard blank intended for the manufacture of an automatic bottom case generally consists of four portions.

These are intended for the formation of the two wide side faces 10 and 30 and the two narrow side faces 20 and 40 of the body.

Flaps 11, 21, 31, 41 are formed at the upper ends of said side faces and are intended for closing the top of the box after it has been filled.

Il y a deux grands rabats de fond 12, 32 en bas des faces latérales larges 10, 30 et deux petits rabats de fond 22, 42.Bottom flaps 12, 22, 32, 42 are also provided at the lower ends of the side faces for the formation of the bottom of the box. There are two large flaps bottom 12, 32 at the bottom of the wide side faces 10, 30 and two small bottom flaps 22, 42.

The bottom flaps 12, 22, 32, 42 are, in a manner known per se, of generally trapezoidal shape in order to allow the deployment of the automatic bottom when the box is opened.

The different parts of the cut are separated from each other by creasing lines to allow them to be articulated and folded relative to each other during the formation of the box.

For the formation of an automatic bottom box, folding flaps 14, 34 extend two bottom flaps of the blank. these foldable flaps 14, 34 are arranged so as to be glued to the adjacent flaps, for the manufacture of the automatic bottom. In the drawing, said folding flaps 14, 34 are arranged along the large bottom flaps 12, 32 secured to the wide side faces 10, 30 but they could also be arranged along the small bottom flaps 22, 42 secured to the side faces narrow 20, 40.

We can see in Figures 2 and 3 the additional plate 5 designed according to the invention for the establishment of the plastic bag 6 in the box-addition.

This additional plate 5 is a quadrilateral of the same shape and having the same length L and the same width l as the face of the bottom located inside the box after folding and joining it. In the figures, this additional plate is rectangular like the bottom of the box-body which must be made using the cutout shown in Figure 1.

The bag 6 is a plastic bag whose opening has the same shape and dimensions as the opening of the box, its height is greater than the height of the box so that it is possible to close the end upper of said bag after filling.

This bag 6 is a flat bottom bag and side bellows.

L'extrémité 60 du sac est plus étroite que le reste du sac et présente la soudure assurant la fermeture de celui-ci.As visible in the figures and in a manner known per se, the flat bottom of the bag is externally in the form of a trapezoid 61. The end 60 of the bag is narrower than the rest of the bag and has the weld ensuring the closure of it.

Said bag 6 is fixed to the additional plate 5 for example by gluing on the face thereof visible in FIG. 2. This fixing tends to secure the bag 6 to the additional plate 5 and can be ensured by a simple point of glue in the bottom area 61 of the bag.

One way of making this attachment in a manner that is both safe and rapid consists in providing a slot 50 disposed in the middle part of the additional plate 5. The end 60 of the bag 6 is then passed through this slot 50 in order to be disposed against the face of the additional plate 5 intended to be in abutment on the bottom of the box visible in FIG. 3. The protruding end portion 60 can then be glued to the additional plate 5 in order to obtain a totally secure connection.

The bonding of the bottom of the bag is preferably carried out in addition to this joining in order to allow easy opening of said bag at the time of use. This bonding is done on at least one area of the bottom 61. This bonding area must extend over a large part between the slot 50 and the edge of the additional plate in order to concern a large part of the width of the half bottom of the bag. . This bonding can be done over the entire hatched area A shown which generally corresponds to the trapezoid 61 by which the bag 6 is in contact with the additional plate 5.

The additional plate 5 must also be fixed to the automatic bottom of the box in order to form, according to the invention, a box with an automatic bottom, the addition of which is perfectly in place when the box is opened.

A cet effet, l'on encolle la face de la plaque additionnelle 5 destinée à être en appui sur ledit fond selon la zone hachurée B de la figure 3.To this end, the face of the additional plate 5 intended to be supported on said bottom is glued according to the hatched area B of FIG. 3.

The various elements necessary for the manufacture of a box-addition according to the invention having been described, the manufacture of the latter can be done in different ways.

A first method of manufacturing the case in addition to the invention consists in folding and gluing the cardboard blank in order to form the case and join it together as usual.

When the automatic bottom case is thus prepared, the additional plate 5 and the bag 6 which is integral with it are inserted into said case. The additional plate 5 being a corrugated cardboard plate having a certain mechanical resistance, this can be gripped by automatic means of the kind of those usually used in the cardboard industry.

The bag 6 being fixed as previously described on the additional plate 5, it is driven by any movement of the additional plate without the risk of being torn or folding back on itself. It is thus possible to slide the bag 6 precisely in the box and ensure its perfect positioning at the bottom thereof.

When the additional plate 5 and the bag 6 are thus arranged in the box, pressure is applied to the lower part thereof in order to glue the plate additional 5 against the large bottom flap with which it is in contact with the glued part B.

De manière avantageuse, on peut également assurer la fabrication de la caisse-outre à fond automatique selon l'invention selon un procédé schématisé à la figure 4.Advantageously, it is also possible to ensure the manufacture of the automatic bottom case according to the invention according to a process shown diagrammatically in FIG.

According to this manufacturing process, the additional plate 5 carrying the bag 6 is positioned on one of the wide lateral faces, here the face 30, of the cardboard blank while the latter is placed flat before folding.

As visible in Figure 4, said additional plate 5 is disposed against the crease line separating the wide side face 30 of the large bottom flap 32 located in its extension and ensuring the articulation of said flap. The additional plate 5 is placed with its face carrying the adhesive zone B on the top.

The bottom flaps 12, 22, 32 and 42 are then folded against the side faces 10, 20, 30 and 40 in the usual manner. It can be noted that the large bottom flap 32 is then positioned on the additional plate 5 and in contact with the glue from zone B.

The foldable flaps 14 and 34 are then folded outwards and the faces thereof situated outside are glued as shown by the hatched zones C.

The tongue 13 is glued on its underside as shown by the dotted hatching shown in FIG. 4.

The folding and joining of the box are then carried out as usual by folding, according to arrows F, the side face 10 on the side face 20 then the side face 40 on the side face 30; the tongue 13 is by this folding positioned under the edge of the lateral face 40 with the adhesive directed towards the latter.

The bonding of the different elements to each other is completed as usual, for example by pressing.

The box-addition according to the invention can be delivered flat, the implementation thereof for its use is made very quickly, simply by its opening. Indeed, the automatic bottom drives during its movement to get flat the additional plate 5 which is integral with it. When the opening of the box is finished, the automatic bottom is flat and is covered by the additional plate.

The implementation of the additional plate according to the invention makes it possible to propose a box-addition whose bottom is, on the interior side, perfectly flat since it is covered by the additional plate whose shape and dimensions are provided in order to cover exactly said bottom. This additional plate further strengthens the bottom of the box according to the invention.

After opening the case, besides tending to lay its bottom flat, the opening of the bag can be done very easily by the fact that its bottom is held at least in part on the additional plate. In the above description, the bag is made of plastic, but it can just as easily be made of paper or composite material.

The box-addition being delivered flat, with the bag inserted inside, and perfectly secured to the box via the additional plate, the invention proposes a box-box with automatic bottom, ready for use. .
