Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a closure cap for a plastic closure, with a screw cap, a bracket for pulling up and a retaining ring, which engages around a container neck and an insert ring of the closure from the outside and above and thus holds the insert ring on the container neck, the screw cap, bracket and retaining ring being in one piece and are at least partially connected by tabs that can be torn by hand.
  • Such a cap is known from DE-OS 37 30 225.6.
  • an annular, possibly partially interrupted web is formed on the flat top of the retaining ring, which comprises a double ring bracket and a screw cap, the ring bracket being connected to the web by tabs that can be torn by hand.
  • the ring bracket is designed as a double bracket and shaped so that it partly lies radially inside the web, but partly also runs along the circumference of the web interrupted in corresponding partial areas. In these areas, the ring bracket can be grasped and bent up, the tabs tearing between the ring bracket and the web.
  • the locking ring extends in the axial direction beyond the upper edge of the insert ring and still includes the upper edge of a screw cap with a safety bracket.
  • EP-A-044.797 also discloses a two-part closure, consisting of a closure insert and a closure cap with a ring bracket, but here no retaining ring is provided for fixing the insert ring on the edge of a container opening. Instead, the insert ring has outward-facing projections which latch behind the edge of the opening of a sheet metal container.
  • a flange of the insert ring is provided with an upstanding outer edge which surrounds the ring bracket and is interrupted in the region of grip tabs of the ring bracket. The grip tabs protrude in the radial direction beyond the outer edge of the flange edge.
  • the present invention has for its object to design the cap with the features mentioned above so that the handling for the consumer is more clearly recognizable and to be accomplished, the cap should also be as material-saving and easy to manufacture.
  • This object is achieved in that the projection of the bracket in the plane of the upper edge of the retaining ring does not overlap with the upper edge of the retaining ring and that the upper edge of the retaining ring has an interruption for a handle tab of the bracket pointing outward in the radial direction.
  • the interruption of the retaining ring at its upper outer edge is obvious to the user and lets him recognize immediately that the closure can be opened at this point by bending up the grip tab, the entire bracket being folded up and any pull tabs between the retaining ring and bracket or be torn between screw cap and bracket.
  • the screw cap can then be pulled out of the retaining ring together with the bracket, whereby a pouring spout of a corresponding closure insert, onto which the screw cap is screwed, is also pulled out.
  • This pouring spout can z. B. either on a bellows closure or on a telescopic closure.
  • the manufacture of the closure cap is considerably simplified since one-piece mold tools which can be moved in the axial direction of the closure cap are now used for the manufacture of the cap can be.
  • the top of the screw cap and the bracket do not overlap if they are projected into the same plane.
  • the bracket lies in one plane with the upper edge of the retaining ring, the production can be carried out in a very simple manner and in a material-saving manner, since now no additional web is required. Practical tests have also shown that the short interruption on the outer edge of the retaining ring does not detract from the stability of the retaining ring for the grip tab of the bracket. Despite this interruption, the retaining ring can be secured at its upper edge in exactly the same way to the neck or edge of a corresponding container as is also the case with the already known closures with a retaining ring.
  • the bottom or top of the screw cap which is formed in one piece with the ring bracket and retaining ring, lies in the same plane as the bracket and the upper edge of the retaining ring. This design also contributes to material savings and easy manufacture.
  • the bottom of the screw cap, the bracket and the retaining ring together have the shape of a hollow cylinder closed on one end face, with recesses being provided in this end face and in the cylinder jacket in such a way that the retaining ring through the cylinder jacket and one radially outer part of the closed end face of the cylinder is formed, that the bracket, with the exception of its grip tab, lies essentially radially inside the retaining ring and that the bottom of the screw cap is formed by the remaining part of the closed end face of the cylinder and at least partially radially inside the bracket lies.
  • an essentially circular recess is expediently provided in the end face of the hollow cylinder at a distance from the cylinder jacket, which recess also has an extension on both sides of the grip tab in the radial direction up to the outer edge of the cylinder, with a further, part-circular recess radially inside this first recess Is provided symmetrically to the handle tab, which limits the ring bracket in the radial direction inwards and also in the circumferential direction.
  • the ring bracket is thus essentially an annular part formed between two at least partially circular cutouts, which additionally has a radially outwardly directed grip tab in the region of the interruption mentioned.
  • tabs which can be torn by hand are provided between the bracket and the retaining ring and bridge the first recess.
  • only a single bracket needs to be provided, which essentially consists of a ring bracket extending over at least 180 ° , which has on the outside the handle tab symmetrical to its ends, ie in the middle of the ring bracket.
  • the bracket has a greater thickness than the adjacent bottom of the screw cap and, if appropriate, is also thicker than the material of the radially outside of the ring bracket Part of the retaining ring. This is possible by designing the injection mold appropriately without any significant effort.
  • the closure cap according to the present invention can either have a retaining ring, which is designed as a snap ring with inwardly projecting, bead-like projections, or can be designed as a screw ring with a back-up safety device.
  • the invention is also directed to complete plastic closures with a corresponding closure insert and a closure cap defined in more detail above. Likewise, the invention is directed to a container equipped with such a closure cap.
  • FIG. 1 you can see a closure insert 20 which is inserted into a container neck 30.
  • a flange 21 of an insert ring 22 rests on the edge of the container neck 30.
  • the insert ring 22 is connected via a bellows 23 to a pouring spout 24, on the external thread of which the screw cap 2 is screwed on.
  • the closure cap 1 consists in particular of the radially inner screw cap 2, a ring bracket 4 at least partially surrounding the screw cap 2 and the ring bracket and screw cap surrounding the retaining ring 5, with a tab 7 of the ring bracket radially outward in a corresponding interruption of the upper edge of the retaining ring 5 protrudes.
  • the retaining ring 5 holds the insert ring 22 or its flange on the edge of the container neck 30.
  • the screw cap 2 consists of the screw cap bottom ("bottom" for short) 3, which lies essentially in one plane with the ring bracket and the upper edge of the retaining ring, and from a cylindrical projection 11 concentric with the retaining ring 5 on the bottom 3 with an internal thread and one radially inside of it, also cylindrical sealing lug 12.
  • the bottom 3 of the screw cap 2 together with the ring bracket 4 lying in the same plane and the retaining ring 5 form a part in the form of a hollow cylinder closed on one end face.
  • the two ends of the bracket 4 are integrally connected to the screw cap 2, the bracket 4 is in turn connected to the retaining ring 5 via tabs 8 that can be torn by hand (see FIG. 2).
  • the retaining ring 5 consists of an essentially cylindrical wall 5b, a lower reinforcing edge 5c and a collar or flange 5a projecting in an annular manner. This flange 5a and the upper edge of the cylinder wall 5b have an interruption on one side, into which a grip tab 7 of the bracket 5 protrudes outwards in the radial direction. The radially outer edge of the grip tab 7 closes approximately with the circumference of the cylinder wall 5b.
  • the cylinder wall 5b has on the inside a ring-shaped projection 13 which is nose-shaped in cross section, so that the retaining ring 5 with the projection 13 when pushed onto the container neck 30 behind an annular circumferential projection 31 pointing radially outwards on the outside of the container neck 30 locked.
  • the projection 13 and the projection 31 can optionally also have interruptions.
  • closure cap 1 and the closure insert 20 are connected to one another after their manufacture and are delivered in the form shown in FIG. 1 and are thus pressed as a unit onto the container neck 30 after the container has been filled, the projection 13 latching behind the projection 31.
  • FIG. 2 you can clearly see the one-piece cohesion of the retaining ring 5, ring bracket 4 and screw cap 3.
  • the outer circle corresponds to the outer circumference of the reinforcing ring 5c.
  • the next inner circle corresponds to the outer cylinder wall 5b of the retaining ring 5, at the upper edge of which a flat part 5a projecting inward like a flange is connected.
  • This part 5a and also the upper edge of the cylinder wall 5b have, as can be seen in the left part of FIG. 2, an interruption 6 into which a grip tab 7 projects, which extends from the ring bracket 4 in the radial direction to the outside.
  • the outer edge of the grip tab 7 follows the contour of the cylinder wall 5.
  • the sectional plane along which the closure is shown in FIG. 1 runs in the area of the grip tab 7.
  • the retaining ring 5 or the flange part 5a of the retaining ring 5 is only connected to the ring bracket 4 via the tabs 8 and indirectly to the screw cap 2 via this bracket.
  • a circular recess 9a extends around the ring bracket 4 and the screw cap 2 in an annular manner, both ends of this recess being widened in the radial direction or passing into the interruption 6 for the grip tab 7.
  • the grip tab 7 of the ring bracket 4 is immediately available to the user for grasping and lifting gene on, the tabs 8 between the ring bracket 4 and the flange 5a are torn.
  • One or more fingers can then be inserted into the ring bracket 4 folded up in this way, whereupon the screw cap 2 together with the pouring spout 24 is pulled out of the container neck by a pull on this ring bracket 4.
  • the bellows 23 is turned outwards. Now the screw cap 2 can be unscrewed and, after removing the seal 26, the container contents can be emptied through the pouring spout 24.
  • Figure 3 shows the closure of Figure 1 in a view from the left, but without the container neck.
  • the closure insert 20 which projects out of the closure cap 1 which is open at the bottom can also be seen.
  • the grip tab 7 is conspicuously suitable for gripping and lifting.
  • the ring bracket 4 is otherwise, as can also be seen in FIG. 1, somewhat thicker than the rest of the material of the closure cap 1 lying radially inside and outside the bracket 4, so that it has a correspondingly higher stability and in particular a better tear resistance, so that it in any case withstands the tensile forces to be expended depending on the type of closure for pulling out the pouring spout 24.
  • FIG. 4 shows a section through a second embodiment of the invention, the section plane being laid in the same way as in FIG. 1, but the section extending through the entire closure.
  • a closure insert 20 with a bellows 23 is again provided, an insert ring 22 of the closure insert being in sealing engagement with the upper edge of the container neck 30.
  • the screw cap 2 is in turn screwed onto the external thread of the central pouring spout 24.
  • the essential difference from the first-mentioned embodiment consists essentially in the design of the inner surface of the cylinder jacket 5b and or the lower reinforcing edge 5c of the retaining ring 5.
  • this retaining ring 5 has an internal thread 14, which indicates a corresponding external thread 32 of the container neck 30 can be screwed on.
  • Rotary locks can be arranged at various points on this thread, e.g.
  • the bottom 3 of the central screw cap 2 is therefore surrounded by a part-circular recess, along the outside of which the ring bracket 4 extends.
  • This is in turn separated from the retaining ring 5 by an essentially circular recess 9a encompassing the ring bracket 4 and the screw cap 3, being opposite the grip tab 7 on the radially extended part of the base 3 of the screw cap 2 and on the flange edge projecting radially inwards there 5a of the retaining ring 5, a driver in the form of a cam 16 and a recess for the engagement of the cam 16 is provided,
  • the rare view according to FIG. 6 of the closure cap according to FIGS. 4 and 5 differs from the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 from the same point of view only by the somewhat modified shape of the retaining ring, which is higher because of the thread provided on its inside, for securing against rotation has step-shaped heel and also vertical reinforcing ribs 15.
  • FIG. 7 again shows schematically a cross section through a closure cap with a snap edge according to the first embodiment, the section plane running along the line VII-VII in FIG. 2.
  • the three essential parts of which the closure cap 1 is made, namely the screw cap 2, the ring bracket 4 and the retaining ring 5 are clearly separated from one another by the recesses 9a, 9b, the recess 9a is in the original state of manufacture of the closure cap 1 by bridges the already mentioned tabs 8, while the ring bracket 4 attaches with its two ends to the radial extension 3 'of the screw cap base 3.
  • the closure cap according to the invention can be produced with a relatively small axial length and with a minimal material consumption, while still having a high stability overall.
  • the grip tab is immediately recognizable in its function for the user, which considerably simplifies the handling of the closure.
  • the cap is initially made in one piece, but later in use the retaining ring is separated from the ring bracket and the inner screw cap.
  • the screw cap 2 has on the inside of the screw cap base 3 a cylindrical projection 11 with an internal thread, the size of which is adapted to the external thread of the pouring spout 24 of the closure insert 20, In addition, concentrically to the cylindrical projection 11, a smaller cylindrical sealing projection 12 is provided, which comes into sealing engagement with the upper inner edge of the pouring spout 24 when the screw cap 3 is screwed fully onto the closure insert 20 or the pouring spout 24.
