Definitions

  • the invention relates to a drop arm for an awning, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a drop arm of the generic type is known from DE-A-2 316 527.
  • the spring attached in at least one of the legs serves to act in the direction of an extension of the extension arm, so as to ensure that the awning is stretched out when it is extended and, in particular, that the awning fabric is sufficiently tensioned when extended .
  • the spring is designed as a tension spring and the transmission members are accordingly tension transmission members. Accordingly is in the following based on this usual embodiment of a tension spring and tension transmission members. In principle, however, it is quite conceivable to work with a compression spring in a kinematic reversal of the conditions, the problem solution described below also being advantageous for this embodiment.
  • chains are relatively voluminous if they are to absorb and transmit the required high spring forces, so that their use imposes design restrictions.
  • a construction for a drop arm is known in which the pivot bearing is arranged in the kink area outside the drop arm sections.
  • a guide surface for deflecting the spring-loaded traction cable extends outward from the pivot bearing, which means that the traction cable changes its deflection direction during the pivoting movement and an area with very unfavorable force ratios results.
  • the guide surface and the fastening area for the pull rope is far beyond the outer contours of the extension arm sections, so that such a construction is not marketable even from an aesthetic point of view.
  • the invention has for its object to design a drop arm of the type mentioned in such a way that a high stretching force is exerted on it while maintaining a slim, appealing design, which should also be achievable in particular when the awning is only partially extended.
  • the pivot axis is preferably approximately 5 to 15 mm, in particular approximately 8 mm, outside the inner longitudinal edge.
  • This configuration ensures that the course of the expression forces is optimized as a function of the expression path, i.e. due to the enlarged lever arm with which the spring force acts on the outer leg and thus due to the improved torque, a good expressiveness is also achieved when the effective lever arm is smaller than in the maximum case when the awning is fully extended due to a partially buckled, retracted state.
  • the intended attachment of the link chains enables a slim design with a narrow deflection.
  • this double chain arrangement enables an increased spring tension to be built up or transmitted.
  • the awning shown in Fig. 1 has one or the like on a house wall.
  • support device 1 to be fastened which is provided with a winding shaft 4 rotatably mounted in bearing plates 2, 3.
  • This winding shaft 4 can be driven in a known manner in a known manner, specifically as shown in FIG. 1 by means of a self-locking gear 5, which in turn can be driven via a crank rod 6 which can be engaged or disengaged.
  • a self-locking gear 5 instead of the gear 5 with crank rod 6, an electric motor drive, a belt drive or the like can of course also be used in a generally known manner. be used.
  • a support tube 7 with a square cross section is furthermore attached between the bearing plates 2 and 3, to which 8 drop arms 9 in a so-called scissor design are attached by means of a holding and inclination adjustment device.
  • These extension arms 9 are each divided in the middle and provided with a swivel joint lo with a vertical axis.
  • the drop arms 9 are each articulated with a similar swivel joint 11 on the corresponding device 8 and - not visible in the drawing - with a corresponding swivel joint on a drop tube 12, so that the drop tube 12 can be moved in a plane common with the winding shaft 4, but cannot make any movements perpendicular to this plane.
  • a rectangular awning fabric 13 is attached by the rotations described the winding shaft 4 can be wound up or wound onto it.
  • the awning fabric 13 is fixed to the drop tube 12 in a known manner.
  • a so-called valance 14 is also attached to this.
  • the failure arms 9 are usually adjusted during assembly of the unit consisting of the support device 1, the failure arms 9 and the failure tube 12 when attached to a wall so that the plane spanned by the failure tube 12 and the winding shaft 4 from the winding shaft 4 to light runs downwards relative to the horizontal towards the drop pipe 12.
  • each extension arm 9 comprises an inner leg 15 and an outer leg 16.
  • the inner leg 15 has an articulated plate 17 with an articulated bore 18 via which it is connected to the carrying device 1.
  • a hinge section 19 is formed on the outside of the inner leg 15 and, as can be seen in FIG. 5, comprises two hinge plates 20, 21 arranged at a distance from one another.
  • a hinge part 22 is also formed on the inside of the outer leg 16 and engages between the hinge plates 20, 21.
  • a hinge pin 23 passes through the hinge plates 20, 21 and the hinge part 22 and thus defines a pivot axis 24.
  • the pivot axis 24 is offset by an amount A against the inner longitudinal side 25 of the inner leg 15 to the outside.
  • the joint part 22 of the outer leg 16 has a guide surface 26 which is set back with respect to the joint plates 20, 21.
  • two chains 29, 30, which are arranged one above the other and run parallel to one another and which are deflected by the guide surface 26, are fastened to the guide surface 26 by means of screw eyes 27, 28. While these chains 29, 30 are connected to the outer leg 16 via the screw eyelets 27, 28, they run inside the inner leg 15 and are then connected to a tension spring 31 there, as shown in FIG. 2.
  • the other, inner end of the tension coil spring 31 is connected to a fastening bolt 32, which in turn is fixed to a closure part 34 by means of a screw 33.
