Description

The invention relates to a circuit board terminal arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such basic circuit board terminals are known according to their basic structure (DE-B-2 035 326). In known conductor terminal plate arrangements (see also US Pat. No. 3,904,266), the connection pins for the electrical connection between the tracks of the circuit board and the conductor connection are formed in the terminal for in particular soldering, but also wrap or plug connections. The structure is relatively complicated. The assembly is also complicated due to the need for screwing.

It is also known in the attachment of connector strips on printed circuit boards (DE 84 33 087U1) to provide several flanges on the rear side of the connector housing with press-in pins pointing downwards, which increase the mechanical security of the connection between the printed circuit board and the connector strip. No special requirements are to be made for the design of this mechanical connection, since after the connection to the printed circuit board, wiring work or the like does not have to be carried out on the connector strips, and the electrical contacting also takes place is possible without any significant effort.

On the other hand, it has become known in printed circuit board technology to be able to work without soldering by means of the so-called press-in technology, which facilitates the mounting of the printed circuit boards. In the so-called press-in technology, the components to be connected have press-in pins as connection pins for which the printed circuit board is provided with metallized holes. However, the press-in technology has so far only been used in conjunction with connectors (magazine "Elektronik Journal" 17/87). The fact that, in addition to good electrical contacting in the press-in technique, there is only a relatively small mechanical support per press point does not lead to problems with such plug-in connections, since a considerable number of individual press-in pins are present due to the system and from this a sufficient mechanical hold on the circuit board results and, in addition, after the connector part has been attached to the printed circuit board, work which effects force, in particular wiring work, is not to be carried out.

In contrast, there is the problem with printed circuit board terminals of the generic type, which are often only single-pole, but at least generally only have a small number of poles, that considerable mechanical forces are exerted by the actuation of the clamping screw when connecting the conductor, caused by the mechanical connection between the terminal and circuit board must be included.

The present invention has for its object to provide a circuit board terminal arrangement of the generic type, which ensures a particularly simple, in particular solderless or screw-free assembly of the circuit board terminals on the circuit board with the required electrical but also high mechanical security.

The solution according to the invention results from the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

Since each terminal of the arrangement has at least one housing pin, a single-pole terminal, for example, in addition to the connecting pin designed as a press-in pin for mechanical anchoring, also has the housing pin, which in particular can absorb the forces which occur when the clamping screw is tightened when a conductor is connected to the conductor connection of the terminal . Thus, the printed circuit board terminals can now be connected to the printed circuit board using a press-fit technique, and the wiring work can be carried out subsequently, without the risk of the electrical press-in connection being removed. Since the contacting press-in pin is closely guided in the interior of the terminal housing right up to the outlet therefrom, perfect installation is also ensured, taking into account the relatively high forces that occur during the press-in process. Furthermore, since the housing pin protrudes further beyond the corresponding housing surface of the terminal than the press-in zone of the press pin or pins, the guide of the housing pin in the mounting hole of the printed circuit board starts even before the actual press-in process of the connecting pin. Any tilting possibility of the clamp which impairs the electrical press-in connection when pressed in is switched off.

Further preferred configurations are characterized in the subclaims. If, according to a preferred embodiment, a housing pin is provided on each terminal for each press-in pin, it is ensured that the later wiring work can be carried out safely at each pole point even with printed circuit board terminals.

In a further expedient embodiment, the contacting press-in pin is also firmly connected to the housing via a latching lug. As a result, the force for the press-in process can be carried out directly over the surface of the terminal housing without special additional tools.

An embodiment of a circuit board terminal arrangement according to the invention is described below with reference to the drawing. Show it
Figure 1
a circuit board clamp according to the invention in a sectional view,
Figure 2
2 shows a front view of the circuit board terminal according to FIG. 1,
Figure 3
a partial plan view of the area of a circuit board intended for receiving a circuit board terminal according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, a three-pole circuit board terminal is provided. The circuit board terminal could also have fewer poles, in particular also be single-pole and it could also have more poles.

The circuit board terminal according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has an insulating plastic housing 1, in which there are three conductor connections 2 in the exemplary embodiment shown for connecting the incoming electrical conductors. The conductor connections 2 each have a clamping screw 2a, by tightening the inserted conductor is connected. A connector pin 3 leads from each conductor connection 2 to the underside of the housing 1. The connector pins 3 emerge from the underside of the housing. They are now designed as press-in pins and have a tapered insertion zone 4 on the underside of the housing 1 at their free end and, above that, adjacent to the underside of the housing 1, a press-in zone 5. The printed circuit board 6 shown in FIG Holes 7 which are metallized throughout in a corresponding grid, into which the press-in pins 3 are pressed with electrical contact and a certain mechanical hold.

In diesem Fall ist also pro Leiteranschluß bzw. The housing 1 of the circuit board terminal is now provided on the underside in the exemplary embodiment shown with three housing pins 8. In this case, there is an associated housing pin 8 per conductor connection or press-in pin 3. In the illustrated embodiment, the mutually assigned Press-in pins and housing pins each together in the central longitudinal plane of the affected pole, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2. Deviating from this, it would be conceivable to provide only one housing pin for a two-pole terminal, or only three housing pins for a four-pole terminal.

In the circuit board 6, receiving holes 9 are provided for the housing pins 8 in a corresponding grid. If wiring work is carried out in the press-in technology after connecting the printed circuit board terminal to the printed circuit board and possibly not inconsiderable forces are applied to the respective pole point by means of the clamping screw 2a when the conductor is fixed, these forces are now not only via the pressed-in press-in pins 3, but in particular also via the housing pins 8 are accommodated in a manner preventing canting, tilting, twisting of the circuit board terminal or even destruction in the connection area between the circuit board terminal and the circuit board.

The housing pins 8 are designed for this function in terms of shape, length and diameter, as well as to prevent the clamp from tilting when pressed in. Therefore, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the housing pins 8 each project further downward over the housing underside than the press-in zones 5 of the press-in pins 3. This means that the guide through the housing pins in the mounting holes 9 of the printed circuit board already starts before the actual press-in process of the press-in pins 3 begins in their press-in zones 5.

The pin guide accompanies the press-in process to the end.

Since relatively high forces occur when the press-in pins 3 are pressed in, in an expedient embodiment the press-in pin is guided closely in the housing 1 of the printed circuit board clamp as close as possible to the press-in zone 5. In addition, it is firmly connected to the housing 1 with a locking lug 10. Thanks to this configuration, the introduction of force for pressing in can take place directly over the surface of the housing 1 without a special additional tool.

In the case of multi-pole terminals, in deviation from the exemplary embodiment described above, the number of housing pins can be less than that of the press-in pins.
