Description

The present invention relates to an improved modular shoring system.

Currently, existing shoring systems between two retaining walls opposite are expensive and impractical, because they are done with traditional structures; for their assembly, they must be welded during assembly and desoldered during disassembly, with all the complexity and cost that this represents.

Among the other known systems, there is patent FR-A-2,205,085 (Koehl) which relates to a "segmented strut" and which consists of a telescopic system of tubes joined by pins and one end of which ends in a bolt.

This system is inconvenient to handle, and depending on the type of work, it does not have the necessary robustness.

There is also patent FR-A-1,528,703 (from Peiner Maschinen und Schraubenwerke A.G.), the subject of which is "Lattice scaffolding beams formed by several beam elements aligned with one another". In this French invention, the upper spar is different and much more rigid than the lower spar; this invention can therefore only work in one position, that is to say with the more rigid upper beam always in the upper position. This beam works only and exclusively only by bending. In this beam, the longitudinal connection is made with plates 35, 36, 44 45 which remain in the profit of the spar, which therefore has a limitation of the dimensions of the screws to be used, which are conditioned by the profit used, and makes it difficult the mounting of the beam, the operator being unable to work in a convenient manner.

The modular shoring system of the present invention improves the arrangement of said French patent FR-A-1,528,703 to PEINER, because the two beams (2,3) are equal and can work in any upper or lower position. The system of the invention also has plates (6) for the longitudinal connection of larger section (protrude laterally) than the beams (2,3), the holes (7) remaining outside the profits of said beams (2 , 3), the assembly for performing the longitudinal connection is therefore much more convenient, quick and safe for the operator; moreover, screws and knobs with more appropriate dimensions can be used. The operator is not limited by space, as he works outside the longitudinal beam. The union is much safer. That is to say that the plate (6), and therefore the holes (7) thereof, is "independent", the assembly and disassembly can therefore be carried out by the operator more conveniently, quickly and safe. The present invention also has connecting means side, supplement means and adjustment means (which the previous patent does not have).

In addition, the modular parts (1) of the present invention work by compression, although they can also work by bending.

Ultimately, the patent FR-A-1 528 703 and the present invention refer to different systems in which the present invention completely eliminates the drawbacks presented by the French patent mentioned, and improves it in all respects, by simplifying its constitution and its use.

On the contrary, the modular shoring system object of the present invention eliminates the drawbacks mentioned, because it is a modular system easy to assemble and disassemble with bolts and nuts, which adapts to all dimensions . The modular elements of this system can be reused in other works.

The improved modular shoring system, object of the present invention, is characterized firstly by the fact that these basic modular parts are composed of two opposite longitudinal beams, joined together by small intermediate spacers and inclined in a zigzag and their lateral crosspieces corresponding extremes; these longitudinal beams have at their ends longitudinal connecting means. These longitudinal connection means consist of plates which are united at the end of the spar, which protrude laterally and which are provided with holes for connection by the ends of modular modular pieces longitudinally contiguous to form a longitudinal shoring.
These opposite longitudinal beams have connecting means lateral in their opposite external longitudinal edges in positions adjacent to their ends and in intermediate zones of these longitudinal beams. These lateral connection means consist of plates united to the spar and provided with holes for joining, by means of spacers, laterally contiguous longitudinal struts. The modular system of the present invention is secondly characterized in that it comprises length supplementing means for increasing the length of a pair of laterally contiguous longitudinal props; these additional means consist of a rectangular base frame, of which, on all four sides, two opposite sides have a length corresponding to the distance between the two longitudinal beams of the basic modular part, and the other two opposite sides have a corresponding length at the separation of two laterally contiguous longitudinal struts, the sides of these additional means being constituted by two opposite longitudinal beams joined by small zigzag struts and by flat crosspieces at the ends. These flat crosspieces join the vertices of the corners of the frame in the contiguous longitudinal fins of a tubular column; this column is provided with four orthogonal longitudinal fins and with end plates which protrude from the ends and which are provided with holes for their connection with the plates which protrude from the ends of the longitudinal beams of the basic modular parts, in order to extend a double compound longitudinal shoring by a pair of contiguous longitudinal struts, and comprising means for adjusting the length of the longitudinal shoring which consist of an assembly composed of an adjusting screw combined with a ball joint device.

In this system, the opposite longitudinal beams, which constitute the basic modular parts, are composed by profiles with an H-section, the small spacers and crosspieces of which are welded at their ends between the webs of the two longitudinal beams; the plates of the longitudinal connection means are welded to the ends of the profile, while the plates of the lateral connection means are welded between the fins of the profile, the longitudinal beams opposite the means of the additional length being composed of tubular elements.

The adjustment means comprise an adjustable screw by screwing into a tubular column provided with four orthogonal longitudinal fins and end plates protruding from the ends and which are provided with holes, whereas at the opposite end, this screw comprises a protruding plate provided with holes, these end plates of the screw assembly allow it to be coupled to the protruding plates with holes. These adjustment means act in combination with a ball joint device comprising, on one side, a projecting plate provided with holes for its coupling with another plate projecting with holes, while on the opposite side, it is provided with a support plate.

The assembly of the adjusting screw and the ball joint device in the longitudinal coupling position by means of the adjoining plates, makes it possible to couple the other plate of the screw to the end plate of a longitudinal prop and to place the plate of support of the ball joint device against the adjoining wall; the length of the shoring is thus adjusted, the ball joint device allowing adaptation to the differences in parallelism of the shoring.

In order to facilitate a more detailed explanation and understanding of the improved modular shoring system, object of the present invention, seven sheets of drawings are appended, drawings in which a practical embodiment is presented, showing the scope of this invention by way of illustrative and nonlimiting example.

According to the drawings, the improved modular shoring system object of the present invention comprises a series of basic modular parts, which are generally referenced with 1, and which include a first embodiment of basic modular part 1a, a second embodiment of basic modular part 1b, a third embodiment of basic modular part 1c and a fourth embodiment of basic modular part 1d, these are similar but the modular lengths are different.
These basic modular parts consist of two longitudinal beams 2,3 formed by H-section profiles joined by intermediate struts and inclined in a zigzag 4 and their corresponding end crosspieces 5. These spacers and the crosspieces are welded between the webs of the longitudinal member profiles.

These basic modular parts 1 are provided, at their ends, with longitudinal connection means by the ends to constitute a longitudinal shoring; these means of longitudinal connection at the ends consist of plates 6 welded to the ends of the profile of the beams 2.3 in H and projecting laterally - as illustrated in FIGS. 6, 6a, 12 and 13; these plates 6 are provided with holes 7 - as illustrated in Figures 6 and 6a. This arrangement makes it possible to constitute longitudinal shoring.

These basic modular parts 1 are also provided with lateral connection means in their opposite outer edges which consist of plates 8 adjacent to their ends and of the plates 6, as well as plates 9, in intermediate positions, also provided with holes 10 which allow the provision of modular spacers 11 of variable dimensions between two laterally contiguous longitudinal props for the connection thereof, as illustrated especially in Figures 13, 12, 6 and 6a.

The length supplement means 12 for increasing the length of a pair of contiguous longitudinal props or double props consist of a rectangular frame (see Figures 7, 8 and 8a) which consists of different lateral tubular beams 13, 14 joined by small zigzag spacers 15 and flat crosspieces 16 which form the sides of the frame, these crosspieces joining at the tops of the corners of the frame in a tubular column 17 provided with four orthogonal longitudinal fins 18 provided with holes 19 for the union of these sleepers 16. These tubular columns 17 are provided, at their ends, with end plates 20 protruding from corresponding ends and provided with holes 21 which allow their connection to the plates 6 at the ends of the basic modular parts 1 to extend the double compound longitudinal shoring by a pair of contiguous longitudinal props.

The system of the invention comprises adjustment means for adjusting the length of the shoring in the space between the walls in question. These means consist (see FIG. 10) of additional parts 17 ′ identical to the column 17 described beforehand and corresponding to a tubular column and to adjustment parts 22 constituted by an adjustment screw which adjusts, with the means adjustment 22b, to the measurement of the longitudinal prop and presses, allowing that the prop performs the load; this screw couples (see FIG. 10) with this additional part 17 ′ between a basic modular part 1 on one side and the corresponding retaining wall 23, with the interposition of a ball joint device 24 to absorb differences in parallelism and center the load along the longitudinal shoring axis. As illustrated in FIGS. 9b and 10, this screw 22 and this additional piece 17 'are provided with mutual longitudinal translation means which consists of a key 25 provided in the screw and a corresponding inlet 26 provided in the additional piece 17' to avoid mutual rotation.

The ball joint device 24 is provided with two plates 24a with holes 24 'for its connection by bolts to the plate 22a of the screw and 24b to the support plate against the wall 23. This ball joint device constitutes means of ball joint support for each end of the longitudinal shoring. This ball joint can be placed directly between the longitudinal shoring and the retaining wall, independently of the adjustment means 22, 17 '.

As for the additional means illustrated in Figures 7 to 9, it should be noted that they have a length corresponding to the distance between the two longitudinal beams 2,3 of the basic modular parts 1 and a length which corresponds to the separation of two Contiguous longitudinal struts, to allow the length of the pair to be increased, as shown in Figure 12 in fragmented form.

As illustrated in FIGS. 11 and 11a, it is possible to join several longitudinal props of basic modular pieces 1 (two in the illustrated case) in order to have, between two retaining walls 23, 23, a rectangular structure (FIG. 11b) for shoring closed enclosures in horizontal projection.

Figures 14 and 15 show realizations of towers to support high elements thanks to longitudinal props, joining the longitudinal props to by means of short additional elements 27, to form pairs of longitudinal props uniting each adjacent pair of pairs of longitudinal props with those located opposite by means of spacers 28, in addition to the corresponding support feet 29.

Obviously, the resulting shoring may include a single longitudinal strut or several longitudinal struts joined by spacers 11 (as illustrated in FIGS. 13, 11 and 11a) with modular spacers of different lengths, in order to have the right number contiguous longitudinal struts per unit of section, to increase the resistance of multiple longitudinal shoring between two retaining walls. The shoring can also form a mixed set (as illustrated in Figures 14 and 15) composed of two props joined by additional elements and each pair of longitudinal props united by spacers or two longitudinal props united by spacers forming towers.

The end plates 6 of the longitudinal beams 2,3 of the basic modular parts 1 make it possible to extend, as necessary, the longitudinal shoring. It is therefore possible, in the case of a single shoring, to adjust the distance by means of the additional pieces 17 ′ and the adjusting pieces 22, and in the case of a double shoring, one can increase their length with the additional means length 12.

It should be noted that all of the modular parts, object of the system of the invention, allow easy assembly and disassembly of the shoring, object of the invention, and requires only simple means such as bolts and nuts to connect the adjacent plates of two basic modular parts 1 or these plates with the plates 20 of the tubular columns 17 of the additional length means 12 of FIGS. 7 to 9 or of the additional parts 17 ′ and of adjustment 22, and possibly of the ball joint device 24.

It must be taken into account that the system of the invention not only makes it possible to easily mount and dismantle the shoring in question with simple means, but that it makes it possible to easily reuse the modular parts of the system.
