Device for the automatic lifting of bobbins on a roving frame for long fibres and short fibres, mainly consisting, on the one hand, of a conveying fork capable of moving in at least one horizontal direction and, on the other hand, of a conveyor for the removal of full bobbins and supply of empty bobbin tubes, characterized in that it comprises dishes (6) supporting by the base and allowing the handling of the full bobbins (7) and the empty bobbin tubes (8) by the conveying fork (1), the conveying fork co-operating with said dishes (6) by gripping their edges (12) and being movable in a vertical direction (2) and in a horizontal direction (3) parallel to the transverse alignment of the spindles (4) of the spindle-carrying carriage (5).
  2. Device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the conveying fork (1) is equipped with blocks (10) equipped with springs (11) allowing the gripping of the edges (12) of the dishes (6) during the handling of the full bobbins (7) or empty bobbin tubes (8).
  3. Device according to any one of Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the width (l) of the conveying fork (1) corresponds to a fraction of the length of the spindle-carrying carriage (5), said fork (1) also being movable in a direction (13) parallel to said spindle-carrying carriage (5).
  4. Device according to any one of Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the conveying fork (1) composed, if necessary, of several independent segments, extends over the entire length of the spindle-carrying carriage (5).
  5. Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that it comprises a security device which is activated during the actuation of the conveying fork (1) and is provided with audible and/or luminous alarm devices, said device also allowing a security zone to be defined round the roving frame under consideration, if necessary.

Process for the automatic lifting of bobbins on a roving frame for long fibres and short fibres employing the device according to any one of Claims 1 to 5 and involving, after completion of the winding of the bobbins, the breakage of the slub and the release of the full bobbins from their corresponding flyers, if applicable by the lowering of the spindle-carrying carriage, extracting said full bobbins from their corresponding spindles and conveying them to an aerial conveyor, characterised in that it involves extracting and conveying said bobbins (7) by means of a conveying fork (1) co-operating with dishes (6) threaded on said spindles (4) and each supporting a bobbin (7) then attaching said bobbins (7) to empty bobbin holders (15) of said conveyor (9), the dishes (6) remaining integral with the fork (1) then detaching the empty bobbin tubes (8) from said conveyor (9) in an equal number by means of said dishes (6), conveying them to the free spindles (4) of said spindle-carrying carriage (5), then threading them, together with the dishes (6) supporting them, on said spindles (4) and finally releasing said conveying fork (1) from said threaded dishes (6) and bringing it into a released rest position.
  7. Process according to Claim 6, characterised in that the extraction of the full bobbins (7) from their spindles (4) firstly involves bringing the fork (1) from its rest position opposite the spindle-carrying carriage (5) and to the level of the dishes (6) then introducing said fork (1) between the spindles (4) by a horizontal translation movement so as to engage the dishes (6) between the blocks (10) equipped with springs (11) and the corresponding slideways (16) and, finally, unthreading the dish (6) - bobbin (7) assemblies from their corresponding spindles (4) by a vertical movement of said fork (1).
