Abstract

A metal sheet or a metal strip (1) for wall or roof coverings, which sheet or strip is provided with a surface coating (2) in the form of a lacquer or the like, which is covered by a protective film (3) removably applied to the coating (2). According to the invention, the protective film has linearly arranged perforations (4) or similar material weakenings which are constructed for separating one film region adjoining the perforation lines from the remaining regions of the protective film (3). In a metal sheet or a metal strip (1) with one or more, for example, groove-forming edges, the perforation or weakening line (4) advantageously extends approximately along the edge of the metal sheet or of the strip or at a distance parallel thereto. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a sheet metal or sheet metal strip for wall or roof cladding, which sheet sheet or sheet metal strip one or more, e.g. Has fold-forming bends and the like with a surface coating in the form of a varnish. is provided, which is covered by a removable protective film on the coating. Such sheets coated in the coil coating process mostly consist of aluminum. The protective film, which is usually made of plastic, is used to protect the mostly sensitive surface coating from damage during transport and further processing of the roof and wall cladding sheets, which are cut, folded, laid and rebated, during which the inspection of the laid sheets is done is inevitable.

The protective film should, on the one hand, perform its function until the assembly work has been completely completed, that is, only when the metal sheets are no longer exposed to the risk of damage due to foot traffic or other impairments after assembly. On the other hand, when executing For lightning protection reasons, fold connections are not worked into the fold seam and remain jammed there.

In view of this, the protective film has been removed and folded back so far from the edge area of the surface-coated sheet before the seams are produced that the sheet areas to be folded were exposed, but the remaining sheet areas were still as far as possible from damage during further assembly or other construction work , Tools, walking or the like. remained protected by the protective film. This, for example, through brochures from Alcan Diffusion S.A. (France) known procedure has the disadvantage, however, that the protective film folded back with the adhesive side up is a hindrance to further work and acts as a dirt trap. The dirt together with the adhesive layer exposed to sunlight forms dark adhesive edges that are difficult to remove on the lacquer layer. In addition, the film is often removed by hand further than necessary, which unnecessarily exposes areas in some areas, which are then subject to the risk of damage.

The object of the invention is therefore to remedy these disadvantages. This is achieved according to the invention in that the protective film has perforations or similar weakenings arranged in a line, which extend approximately along the fold or the folds of the sheet metal strip or strip or at a distance parallel thereto and for separating a film region adjacent to the perforation lines from the others Areas of the protective film are formed.

This design makes it easy to strip the protective film to the extent required by the coating to be protected Peel off the sheet surface and not only turn it up with its adhesive side, but completely remove it. This prevents peeled off edge strips with their adhesive side which disturbs further work. In the remaining areas, the protective film remains undamaged and can provide the necessary protection for the sensitive surface coating of the sheets until the construction work is complete.

The invention is not only applicable to sheets to be folded for wall and roof cladding, but can also be transferred to color-coated sheets for other uses when the task arises, the protective film only in parts in an intermediate stage of production in an exact line in a simple manner to remove.

In the case of a sheet metal sheet or a sheet metal strip which is or is to be provided with a connecting fold, the perforation line or weakening line according to the invention is provided at a distance from the sheet metal edge corresponding to the fold width. If there are several folds, it can run along a fold-forming fold or at a suitable distance parallel to it, as required.

The drawing shows particularly advantageous exemplary embodiments of the invention, which are described in more detail below.

Fig. 1 shows a section through a flat sheet or a flat sheet metal strip 1 made of aluminum with a surface coating 2, which is glued on by a Plastic film 3 is protected. This plastic film is provided with line-shaped perforations 4 which extend at a distance and parallel to the two side or longitudinal edges of the sheet or sheet web. The distance of these perforation lines 4 from the adjacent sheet metal edges is dimensioned such that it is matched to the distance from the sheet metal edges of the fold to be produced later during sheet metal assembly.

Fig. 2 shows a sheet metal strip 1 with surface coating 2 and protective film 3, which is folded twice on one longitudinal edge to form an angular fold 5 and folded three times on its other longitudinal edge to form a U-fold 6. Such folds are used to fold two sheet metal strips of this type laid next to one another in the manner shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. At the foot of the bend 5 on the left in FIG. 2, the protective film 3 is provided with a perforation line which extends exactly along the first bend, while on the right triple bend 6 in FIG. 2 the perforation line 4 runs at the crease line of the third bend.

Die von den Perforationslinien 4 gemäß Fig. 2 begrenzten Randstreifen der Schutzfolien 3 sind vor Falzung entfernt worden.3 and 4 show, on average, in a larger representation, two sheets 1, which are folded together with these folds, with surface coating 2 and protective film 3. The edge strips of the protective films 3, delimited by the perforation lines 4 according to FIG. 2, have been removed before folding.
