Abstract
The weather-exposed roof tiles, the weather-exposed surface is hydrophobic, wherein the hydrophobic surface carries a mechanically resistant and / or fat-impermeable easily removable protective layer, characterized in that the protective layer is destructible by UV radiation and a silane or silicone oil layer is.
Description
The invention relates to a weather-exposed roof tiles whose weather-exposed surface is hydrophobicized, according to the preamble of claim 1 or claim 4, and a method for applying a protective layer on the surface of the tile according to the preamble of claim 5.
It is known and for a long time, the protection from the weather serving or exposed objects of the type specified above, such as building materials, roofing and facade panels, glazing elements, solar modules, tents and tent materials, housing of vehicles of all kinds and the like. Equip hydrophobic. This is especially true if these objects are to have a certain breathability, the air permeability, as in tissues, or at least a porosity, as in coarse ceramic bodies z. As roof tiles, requires. This is intended to ensure that rain and condensation water does not or only slightly wets the surface and runs off easily. Corresponding hydrophobization process, for. Example, a siliconizing or, in roofing materials, the application of polysiloxanes as a water repellent on the surface, are known. More recently, fluorosilanes and inorganic-organic hybrid polymers have also been used for the purpose of hydrophobizing surfaces of different materials and especially of ceramic surfaces.
It has been found that such hydrophobic or hydrophobized body, in particular roof tiles, often show a non-uniform hydrophobicity on their surfaces, which is noticeable when wetted as stains and is perceived as unpleasant. This phenomenon can not be improved by careful process performance of Hydrophobierverfahrens. The reason seems to lie in the fact that the hydrophobic coating in the course of the production, storage and / or processing of corresponding objects (eg roof tiles) by handling with bare hands or by mechanical stress (eg when walking through a tiled roof) is impaired.
The object of the invention is therefore to remedy this situation, d. H. To ensure a flawless appearance of exposed to the weather visible surface of the tile in its intended use.
This is achieved according to the invention by the provision of a roof tile according to claim 1 or according to claim 4 and by a method according to claim 5.
The invention is based on the finding that in the handling of hydrophobicized materials or objects, in particular of ceramic bodies, with bare hands grease marks on the surfaces arise, despite the intrinsically hydrophobic property of fat and the small amount thereof to an impairment of the leads to the hydrophobing agent used. In other ways, too, greasy marks can be left behind. B. on roof tiles by walking in the covering over shoe soles. In addition, it has been found that especially on relatively rough surfaces, especially those having a surface structure described above to achieve a self-cleaning effect, on the surface abrasion of foreign material, eg. B. of sole material (rubber) or dirt in the course of a roof, takes place and this foreign material obviously leads to an impairment of the hydrophobic layer or this can not be effective at least by covering.
According to the invention, therefore, the roof tile according to claim 1 or according to claim 4 immediately after its hydrophobing provided with a protective layer which is impervious to grease and / or mechanically resistant to the application of foreign material (preferably both) and therefore handling of the tile during its attachment allowed at the destination, without fear of a blotchy impairment of the hydrophobic layer. It is important that this protective layer can be easily applied to the surface and also easily removed therefrom so as not to raise the cost price of the tile, or only slightly.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, a protective layer made of a material is provided by the weather itself, for. B. is destructible by UV radiation. In this case, after the application of the protective layer and in the case of the dedicated use of the tile no further care for the removal of the protective layer needs to be worn, because the surface exposed to the weather, the natural UV irradiation acts, especially in direct sunlight. When using a corresponding protective layer material, as specified in claim 1, this is therefore already after a relatively short time, z. B. after three to four weeks, destroyed by the natural UV radiation and the released below hydrophobic layer comes into effect.
As ultraviolet-destructible materials, there may be considered those which are decomposed by the ultraviolet rays into non-hazardous and environmentally unfriendly residues, which in turn may then be rinsed and eliminated by sprinkling or sprinkling. But there are also such materials conceivable that are completely degraded by the UV radiation to volatile residues that do not require rinsing. Materials to be used according to the invention, which are suitable for a fat-resistant protective layer and are removed by UV radiation, are silanes or silicone oils.
According to another embodiment of the invention may be selected as a protective layer material such that is soluble and / or washable solely by sprinkling or sprinkling with water. For this purpose, according to the invention gelatin is used, which keeps grease and other foreign matter from the surface, but after the weathering in the state of determination is dissolved by rainwater and washed away.
For all embodiments of the protective layer described above, materials which can be in flowable form and therefore can be transferred to the surface to be protected by conventional application steps such as spraying, pouring, spinning or dipping and then solidified as required. An electrostatic application is also conceivable.
The mechanical resistance of the protective layer mentioned in the present context must be present only to the extent that, in view of the expected load in the individual case, abrasion of foreign material on the surface to be protected is prevented. Thus, the protective layer on roof tiles should be able to withstand entering through the roofer so far that it is not removed from the surface and dirt or ground off the soles of the shoe soles reaches the surface. But if a mechanical load of this magnitude is not to be expected, then a mechanical resistance sufficient to destroy only z. B. prevented by the grabbing of the tile by hand.
