Definitions
- the invention relates to a chuck according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such a chuck is shown in US-A-2 518 139.
- This chuck has a bush with a window-shaped opening. A ball sits in this opening, which presses on the tool shank.
- a displaceable actuating sleeve is arranged at the rear of the ball. With its sloping clamping surface, the wall of the sleeve moves onto the ball, which has a larger diameter than the thickness of the sleeve wall. With this actuating sleeve, the angle of the wedge-shaped falling clamping surface does not run in the area of the self-locking. When the tool is inserted, the ball lies in pockets with an arcuate groove base.
- a chuck is known from DE-A-29 34 428.
- a window-shaped opening in the bush which receives the ball, opens in the area of one of the hexagonal surfaces of the cavity.
- the opening is designed as a longitudinal slot running in the direction of insertion of the tool.
- the inner wall is equipped with support shoulders in such a way that two rectilinear support shoulders are connected to one another by arch-shaped support shoulders. Since the longitudinal slot is to be made by means of a end mill, there is an identical cross-sectional design of the support shoulders.
- the longitudinal slot-like opening is provided so that there is insufficient displacement of the actuating sleeve the ball can still move in the direction of insertion.
- the object of the invention is based on the object of designing a generic chuck in a technically simple manner such that, in addition to easy insertion and release of the tool, a large holding force acts on the inserted tool when the tensile load acts on it in the direction of extraction.
- the dependent claim 2 represents an advantageous development of the solution according to the invention.
- the triggering of the tool must be intentional, by moving the actuating sleeve against spring action, the clamping surface moving away from the ball, releasing it in the radial direction. After release, the tool is also easily removable. If the actuating sleeve is not displaced in the release direction, one can open the ball acting force not to move the actuating sleeve, since the clamping surface has such an angle to the longitudinal axis of the chuck, so that this creates a self-locking effect.
- such a dimensional coordination is chosen that the diameter of the ball is less than half the shaft end corner dimension and more than twice as large as the width of the corner recess lying in the axial direction of the shaft. It can therefore z.
- the strength of the support shoulders decreases in relation to the areas of the cavity diametrically opposite in the insertion direction, the rolling behavior of the ball in the withdrawal direction of the tool is less favorable than in the transverse direction, which also contributes to an improved fit of the tool.
- the strength of the support shoulders can be reduced to zero. Nevertheless, there is sufficient support through the transverse shoulders.
- the arrangement of the opening forming the support shoulders at the level of one of the polygonal edges allows the wall thickness of the bushing to be kept low in comparison with the previously known configuration, combined with the smaller one Spatial shape without this resulting from a reduction in the ball diameter.
- the chuck designated as a whole by the number 1, has a clamping pin 2, which is continued in a stepped threaded bolt 3. The latter engages in a central threaded bore of a bush 5.
- a lock nut 6 arranged thereon, which is braced against the facing end edge 7 of the sleeve 5.
- the threaded bore 4 opens into a cavity 8 hexagonal cross section extending in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve 5.
- the length of the cavity 8 is greater than that of the threaded bore 4.
- the sleeve 5 can be screwed onto the threaded bolt 3 so that it also projects into the interior of the cavity 8.
- the front end of the threaded bolt 3 ends with the bottom 9 of the cavity 8.
- the sleeve 5 is provided with an outwardly directed collar 10, which also serves to guide an actuating sleeve 11 overlapping the sleeve 5. It has a cylindrical and a conical section 12, 13. The cylindrical section 12 is guided by the collar 10 of the sleeve 5. At the free end of the cylindrical section 12 there is a guide ring 14 with a bevel 15 on the end face, which is overlaid by an inward flanging 16 of the cylindrical section 12. One end of a compression spring 17 which surrounds the bush 5 is supported on the guide ring 14. The other end thereof is supported on the collar 10. This actuates the actuating sleeve 11 in the insertion direction x of the tool.
- the actuating sleeve 11 is provided with a limit stop by an inner one located in the transition area between the two sections 12, 13 Ring step 18, with which the actuating sleeve 11 abuts the collar 10, cf. Fig. 2.
- the conical section 13 has a wedge-shaped falling clamping surface 19 on the inside of the sleeve. This runs at an angle alpha of 85 ° to the longitudinal direction of the chuck and is therefore in the area of self-locking.
- the smallest diameter of the clamping surface 19 corresponds to the outer diameter of the sleeve 5. From FIG. 2 it can also be seen that when the tool is not inserted, the lower end edge 20 of the sleeve 5 is approximately aligned with the free end edge 21 of the actuating sleeve 11.
- the clamping surface 19 acts together with a ball 22 which represents a pressure piece and has a diameter d of approximately 3 mm.
- the same is accommodated in a radial opening 23 of the bush 5 such that the longitudinal axis of the opening 23 designed as a bore intersects the associated polygonal edge 24 and also the polygonal edge 25 running diametrically thereto.
- the opening 23 is produced by drilling such that support shoulders 26, 27 remain in the region of the inner edge of the opening. As can be clearly seen from FIGS. 4-7, the support shoulders 26, 27 have a different thickness such that the thickness of the support shoulders 27 decreases in relation to the regions of the cavity 8 diametrically opposite in the insertion direction.
- the support shoulders 26 lying in the area of the polygonal edge 24 have a smaller thickness than the support shoulders 27 running transversely thereto.
- the latter are dimensioned so large that they give the ball good support.
- the opening 23 could be drilled in such a way that the strength of the support shoulders 26 could be brought to zero. Still, they would bring the remaining, transversely oriented support shoulders 27 still sufficient support for the ball 22.
- the opening 23 opens into an approximately oval opening 28 in the facing polygonal edge 24 while realizing the support shoulders 26, 27, which are of different sizes and dimensions.
- the exemplary embodiment is a screwdriver bit 29 having a hexagonal cross-sectional shape which is adapted to that of the cavity 8.
- the screwdriver bit 29 has a working end 30 and forms the corresponding blade there.
- Corner cutouts 31 lying on the same cross-sectional plane are provided in the opposite shaft end 32.
- the outlet angle beta of the same can be between 60-120 ° according to existing standards.
- the width w lying in the axial direction, depending on the size of the outlet angle, is approximately 0.9 mm in the exemplary embodiment.
- the diameter d of the ball 22 of 3 mm is smaller than half of the shaft end dimension E of 7.2 mm and more than twice as large as the width w lying in the axial direction of the shaft.
- the corner recesses 31 lie at the same height with the center of the opening 23 or with the ball 22.
- the insertion of the screwdriver bit 29 requires a displacement of the actuating sleeve 11 against the insertion direction x, specifically in the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 3.
- the clamping surface 19 of the actuating sleeve 11 thus gives the ball 22 the corresponding free space so that it can be inserted of the screwdriver bit 29 can move outwards in the radial direction.
- the insertion movement is limited when the screwdriver bit 29 acts on the bottom 9 of the cavity.
- the actuating sleeve 11 can now be released, whereupon the compression spring 17 causes the same to be displaced in the insertion direction x.
- the clamping surface 19 acts on the ball 22 and presses it into contact with the screwdriver bit 29, with the projecting portion of the ball dipping into the facing corner recess 31 of the screwdriver bit 29 while simultaneously realizing a two-point system for the prism-like surfaces 31 'of the corner recess in question 31 at the level of their outlet-side corner points 31 ''.
- Each of these two corner points 31 '' is the interface of three intersecting edges, as can be seen particularly well from FIG. 8. In this way, an extremely stable, tight fit of the screwdriver bit used is produced by means of a lock. Forces acting in the pull-off direction of the screwdriver bit further reinforce the seat of the screwdriver bit in the cavity 8 of the bushing 5.
- the roof-shaped region of the screwdriver bit 29 opposite the ball is inserted into the associated gusset formed by the two corresponding hexagonal surfaces squeezed accordingly centered in the cavity 8. Even if larger tolerances should occur in the manufacture of the screwdriver bits, the sufficiently tight fit of the screwdriver bits in the cavity 8 is always ensured due to the large displacement path of the ball in the opening 23, so that a slot-like opening can be dispensed with connected with it resulting advantages, such as a simplified manufacture of the opening.
- the ball 22 can be supported on the carrying shoulders 26, 27 when the screwdriver bit is inserted. Since the support shoulders 26 are less strong than the support shoulders 27, there is also a different rolling behavior of the ball 22 in such a way that the rolling behavior in the direction of insertion or withdrawal of the tool is less favorable, as a result of which an additional braking effect is generated.
Abstract
Description

- Fig. 8
- Fig. 9
Fig. 2.
