Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an assembly part for elongated elements.
  • This part is, in general, intended to equip any elongated element intended to produce, by means of its assembly with other identical or similar elements, a support structure. In particular, it is intended for elements allowing the realization of a scaffolding.
  • the assembly is carried out by means of flanges fixed coaxially to the uprights and complementary assembly parts integral with the ends of the crosspieces, each comprising a groove allowing its engagement around part of the flange and holes provided for, when this engagement is made, coincide with a hole that includes the flange, so as to allow the forceful introduction through them of a shaped locking key wedge, one edge of which bears against the part and the other edge of which bears against the collar, so that it makes it possible, when pressed, to block the part on the collar.
  • the assembly parts currently known are metallic and cast in a foundry. They have the disadvantages of being very heavy, difficult to manufacture, at a high cost, and of imposing long delays for their realization.
  • their significant weight limits the dimensions, so that, if they are intended to, after assembly, be in abutment against the wall of the upright, their bearing surface against this wall is insufficient to eliminate a certain clearance of the uprights with respect to the crosspieces during the construction of the scaffolding, which entails, in addition to the instability of the latter, a risk of damage to the parts and the flanges.
  • the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
  • the assembly part which it concerns which is of the type fixed to one end of an element and comprising a groove intended to allow its engagement around a complementary fixing member carried by another element to be fixed to the element to which the part is fixed, is characterized in that it has, in cross section, a M-shaped profile whose two central branches, which are separated from the lateral branches by free volumes, delimit between them the aforementioned groove and whose lateral branches allow the attachment of the part to the elongated element which it equips.
  • the assembly piece according to the invention is particularly light. It is also very simple and quick to produce, at low cost, and this, in particular when it is constituted by a metal strip folded so as to delimit its branches, in accordance with a preferred embodiment.
  • the part comprises two flat parts, located in the same plane and oriented perpendicular to the groove, on either side of the opening from which they extend widely, the depth of the groove being provided so that in position assembly of the part and its aforementioned complementary fixing member, the flat parts come to bear against the wall of the elongated element carrying the complementary fixing member.
  • These flat parts constitute large sones of support of the part, capable of eliminating any play between the elements when they are assembled. Thanks to the lightness of the part according to the invention, the length of these support sones can be more than doubled compared to that of the support sones that comprise existing parts, which makes it possible to make the scaffolding perfectly stable. .
  • the lateral branches play the role of bracing of these flat parts and allow a distribution of the forces transmitted to the part.
  • the part is intended to be fixed to a hollow elongate element internally and the part of its central branches which delimits the bottom of the groove is shaped to be engaged in the cavity of the element when the part is fixed to it , this part being extended laterally by shoulders intended to bear against the edge of the opening of the element.
  • the part equips the end of a cross member and the lateral edges of its branches converge on the side opposite to the cross member.
  • Such parts allow the fixing of several sleepers on the same flange, which, fixed coaxially to an upright of the scaffolding, constitutes the complementary member for fixing the parts, this fixing being able to be done with small spacing angles between the crosspieces.
  • the part comprises holes provided for, when its engagement on its complementary fixing member is made, coincide with a hole that includes this member, so as to allow the force introduction through them of a wedge-shaped locking key, one edge of which bears against the workpiece and the other edge of which bears against the member, so that it makes it possible, when it is pressed, the blocking of the part on the organ.
  • the key comprises, near its narrower end, a protruding stud forming a pin and the hole made in the lateral branch of the part located on the side opposite the stud is designed to let the key pass but not the stud, while the other holes are provided to let through the key and the stud.
  • Figures 1,3 and 4 are perspective views, in cross section and from above respectively during operation.
  • Figure 2 is a top view of a metal strip cut from which it is obtained.
  • FIG. 1 represents, in strong lines, an assembly part 2 and, in fine lines and fictitiously represented as being transparent, a metal and tubular cross-member 3, to which the part 2 is fixed, as well as an upright 4, also metallic and tubular, on which is fixed coaxially a flange 5, pierced with holes 6 and intended for the adaptation of the part 2 in order to assemble the cross-member 3 and the upright 4.
  • the part 2 comprises a groove 7 engaged around the collar 5.
  • the part 2 has in cross section an M-shaped profile whose two central branches 2a delimit between them the groove 7 and the lateral branches 2b, oblique, suitably bent longitudinally at their free end, allow the attachment of the part 2 to the crosspiece 3 by welding.
  • the part 2 comprises two flat parts 2c, situated in the same plane and oriented perpendicular to the groove 7, on either side of the opening from which they extend widely.
  • the depth of the groove is provided so that in the assembled position of the part 2 and the flange 5, the flat parts 2c can come to bear against the wall of the upright 4.
  • the central branches 2a delimit, with the lateral branches 2b and the parts 2c, free volumes 8.
  • the part of the branches 2a constituting the bottom of the groove 6 is engaged in the cavity of the cross member 3. This part is extended laterally by shoulders 10 bearing against the edge of the opening of the cross member 3, to which they are welded .
  • the lateral edges 11 of the branches 2a and part of those of the branches 2b converge on the side opposite to the cross-member 3.
  • the part 2 is equipped with a key 15 intended to be engaged through holes 16, 17 and 18 formed in the branches 2a and 2b and aligned vertically, as well as through the hole 6 with which they coincide, when the part 2 is engaged on the flange 5.
  • the key 15 has the shape of a wedge and one 15a of its edges is in abutment against the edges turned towards the upright 4 of the holes 17 and 18 while the other 15b of its edges is brought to bear against the opening of the hole 6 during the depression of the key 15.
  • the key 15 is equipped with a stud 20 projecting laterally from its end situated on the side opposite to the lateral branch 2b in which the hole 17 is formed, the width of the latter being such that it allows the passage and the sliding of the key 15 but not the passage of the stud 20 while the width of the holes 16 and 18 is such that it allows the passage through them both of the key 15 and of the stud 20.
  • FIG. 2 represents a metal strip 30 which is symmetrical on either side of its longitudinal and transverse median axes, except for the fact that, among the four holes 36, 37 and 38 which it comprises, the holes 37 and 38 differ in their dimensions.
  • the strip 30 comprises a central part 30a and end parts 30b separated from the central part by intermediate parts 30c.
  • the part 30a comprises the holes 36 and, in its middle, two rectangular recesses 35 formed in its longitudinal edges. On either side of these recesses 35, the latter are oblique and converge towards one another in the direction of the parts 30c then diverge after the latter at the same angle.
  • One of the parts 30b comprises the hole 37 and the other the hole 38.
  • the strip 30 is intended to be folded to allow the production of part 2.
  • the part 30a of the strip 30, after folding over itself around its transverse median axis, constitutes the central branches 2a of the part 2 and the bottom of the groove 7 while its parts 30b constitute the branches 2b and its parts 30c the flat parts 2c.
  • the holes 36, 37 and 38 respectively constitute the holes 16, 17 and 18 and the oblique edges of the strip 30 constituting the converging lateral edges 11 of the branches 2a and 2b of the part 2.
  • the edges 35a of the recesses 35 make it possible to produce the shoulders 10.
  • the forced insertion of the key 15 makes it possible to block the part 2 on the flange 5 and to press the surfaces 2c against the wall of the upright 4.
  • the key 15 cannot be separated from the part 2 by virtue of at the stud 21 and at the hole 17, and always remains at the station, the key 15 being able to be placed in the standby position along the cross-member 3 by virtue of the shape of the part 2, as shown in FIG. 3 in lines mixed, position which facilitates its subsequent engagement through the part 2 and which facilitates the storage and arrangement of the sleepers 3.
  • the parts 2c constitute large areas of support for the part 2, capable of eliminating any play between the cross-member 3 and the upright 4 when they are assembled.
  • the oblique branches 2b play the role of bracing of the parts 2c and make it possible to distribute the forces which the part 2 undergoes.
  • the shoulders 10 make it possible to provide additional attachment points for the part 2 to the cross-member 3, in order to perfectly secure its central branches 2a to the latter.
  • the converging oblique edges of the part 2 allow the mounting of several crosspieces 3 on the flange 4 with minimum angles of spacing between them of 45 °.
  • the part is simple to produce and particularly light, while being very resistant due to its different fixing points.
