Abstract

A thread storage and delivery device for textile machines, in particular for the woof thread of a mechanical loom for weaving in many colours, has a device for limiting the length of measured sections of the thread drawn, a drum-shaped storage element for a stock of wound thread, from which the thread can be drawn over one end of the drum, and at least one stop element axially spaced from the last winding of the stock of thread. The stop element can be moved from a passive position, in which the thread is unwound and drawn past the stop element, to a stopping position, in which the thread under tension is held by the stop element during a pause until the stop element is moved back to the passive position. The axial gap between the last winding (11') of the stock of thread (S) and the stop element (13) can be set on a maximum value (Amax), depending on the quality of the thread, which prevents the thread from a axially wandering during the pause at least in the last winding (11') and in the thread section (12) that extends between the last winding of the stock of thread and the stop element (13).

Description

The invention relates to a thread storage and delivery device of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

In known thread storage and delivery devices of this type, the stop element is arranged with a relatively large axial distance from the last turn of the thread supply near the head end of the storage member. The position of the stop element is chosen in view of the fact that all conceivable thread qualities are to be processed with the thread storage and delivery device, and that with essentially the same length in the thread supply for all thread qualities, even with the coarsest thread, there is still a considerable axial distance between the last turn in the thread supply and the stop element and there is a relatively large angle between the last turn in the thread supply and the section of the thread running from the last thread turn to the stop element. In particular in the case of multicolor weaving on a jet weaving machine, a group of such thread storage and delivery devices is provided, of which only one is always working while the others are resting. However, the threads of the thread storage and delivery devices which are in their resting phases always reach into the main nozzle of the weaving machine and are constantly acted upon by a pressure medium flow and thus kept ready for the next entry process. Since the main nozzle oscillates with the reed and the thread is loaded by the ready pulling force, Because of the large angle between the last turn and the section of the thread running to the stop element, at least the last turn is pulled open axially as in the case of a helical spring placed under tension. This results in an increase in length in the thread downstream of the stop element. The free end of the thread migrates out of the main nozzle. The cutting device, which is assigned to the main nozzle and is intended for all threads and is actuated periodically for the color being processed, cuts off this increase in length. The resulting pieces of thread disrupt in an uncontrollable manner not only in this critical work area, but even get into the fabric, whose quality suffers.

The invention has for its object to provide a thread storage and delivery device of the type mentioned, with the malfunctions in thread insertion and quality losses in the finished fabric due to uncontrollable pieces of thread are avoided.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

With this design, for example depending on the thread quality or device-specific parameters, the axial distance between the stop element and the last turn of the thread supply can be set so that the oscillating tensile force in the thread is no longer able in the resting phase to detect the last thread turn and if necessary also wind up further thread turns. The effective in the section of the thread between the last turn and the stop element in the axial direction Force component from the tensile force in the thread is no longer sufficient to shift the thread during the resting phase. Despite the periodic actuation of the cutting device, nothing is cut from the free end of the thread in the resting phase, which could lead to malfunctions or deterioration in the quality of the tissue.

It is known in a thread storage and delivery device with a plurality of stop elements distributed at intervals around the circumference of the storage member (EP 264985) to adjust the stop elements axially while the thread is being pulled off and inserted, in order to maintain the thread length entered despite the intervals between the stop elements to be able to measure continuously and precisely. However, this principle disregards what is happening in the thread supply during the rest phase and cannot provide any suggestions for a solution to the problem described at the beginning.

Since, in addition to the thread quality (denier number or thread number, thread diameter, fluffiness, smoothness, adhesion, material, equipment and the like), the angle between the last turn and the section running to the stop element is also responsible for the tendency of the last turn to wind up, because this angle determines the size of an axially directed force component from the standby tensile force, the embodiment according to claim 2 is useful. By adjusting the stop element in the axial direction of the storage member, it is possible to limit the maximum permissible value of the angle at which it is ensured that the free end of the thread no longer travels into the cutting device despite the standby pull. The maximum value just allowed means that a collision between the last turn in the thread supply and the Stop element is omitted when working if, after building up the thread supply from the dynamics of the device, the thread supply should execute a trailing movement in the direction of the stop element. There is thus a safety distance between the thread supply and the stop element, which excludes the collision between the thread supply and the stop element, but which is only so large that the free thread end does not migrate out of the main nozzle.

The embodiment according to claim 3 is also expedient because, in this dimensioning of the distance, the aforementioned requirements are met in a practical manner.

As an alternative to this, it is also possible to proceed according to claim 4, wherein for the maximum value of the still permissible angle, guide values dependent on the thread quality can be determined empirically and specified for the respective setting.

Two alternative, advantageous embodiments, in which the stop element with actuating elements is accommodated in one of the storage surfaces of the storage member with a radial spacing, fixed housing, can be found in claims 5 and 6. Common adjustment devices, e.g. a coarse and a fine adjustment device can be used, which, with appropriate markings and scales, provide precise information about the selected position of the stop element.

A further, expedient embodiment in which the stop element engages in a depression in the storage area of the storage member in the stop position is possible from claim 7. This configuration ensures that the stop element, regardless of its set axial position, penetrates properly into the storage area and reliably intercepts the thread.

A further, expedient embodiment, in which a maximum sensor for the thread supply is provided outside the storage member, which monitors the axial position of the last turn of the thread supply, is evident from claim 8. The safety distance between the last turn and the stop element is predetermined from the start. If the maximum sensor is adjusted to adapt to the respective thread quality, the stop element follows this adjustment movement so that the maximum bar angle of the section of the thread to the stop element or the barely permissible maximum value of the distance between the stop element and the last turn is maintained .

Finally, the embodiment according to claim 9 is advantageous because, despite the joint adjustability of the maximum sensor and stop element, their relative axial distance can then be readjusted. Because with a small diameter, smooth thread, the safety distance between the last turn and the stop element can be dimensioned smaller than with a large diameter, fluffy thread. The watch can then be adjusted by axially displacing the stop element in relation to the maximum sensor.

Dieses Prinzip ist jedoch bekannt, so daß hier nicht mehr darauf einzugehen ist.1 and 2 show a thread storage and delivery device 1 'of a known type, with secondary components being omitted for understanding the function. Such thread storage and delivery devices 1 'are frequently used for multi-color weaving on jet looms W in order to provide the jet loom W with precisely sized weft thread sections which are drawn off as a continuous thread F from a supply spool (not shown). Each weft thread section is dimensioned by means of a device, not shown, which is integrated into the thread storage and delivery device 1 ' either in the case of a drum-shaped storage element 2 adjustable in outer diameter, a single stop element 13 interrupting the thread take-off when the predetermined thread length is reached, or in the case of a storage element which is not adjustable in outer diameter, has a plurality of stop elements 13 distributed at regular intervals around its circumference for interrupting the thread take-off at a selected stop element 13 . However, this principle is known, so it is no longer necessary to deal with it here.

The thread storage and delivery device 1 'has in addition to, e.g. non-rotatably fixed, storage member 2, the axis of which is designated 3 and which defines a storage area 4, a winding element 5 which can be driven to rotate by means of a drive motor 6. The winding element 5 is hollow, so that the thread F coming from the bobbin from the inside along the Axis 3 and directed radially outwards and wound there in successive turns 11 in a thread supply S on the storage surface 4. The drive motor 6 is connected to a control device 7, which in turn is connected via a control line 10 to a maximum and a minimum sensor 8, 9. The minimum sensor 9 can optionally also be omitted. The two sensors 8, 9 are responsible for switching the drive motor 6 on and off, such that when the thread supply S falls below a certain size, the drive motor 6 is switched on until the Maximun sensor 8 detects the required size of the thread supply S and the drive motor 6 switches off again.

In the thread supply S, the individual turns 11 lie side by side. The last turn 11 'is this Stop element 13 facing, which has a relatively large axial distance A to the thread supply S.

The stop element 13 can be moved back and forth between a passive position in which the thread F can be drawn off unhindered and with a circumferential movement around the storage surface 4 and its head end, and a stop position (FIGS. 1 and 2) in which the thread counteracts the circumferential withdrawal movement is prevented and deflected around the stop element 13. On its way to the weaving machine W, the thread F is then deflected back to the axis 3 via the head end of the storage member 2 before it runs through a thread eyelet 14 and from there into a channel 15a of a main nozzle 15 of the weaving machine W. The main nozzle 15, which is connected to a pressure medium supply, is attached to the reed (not shown) at the entrance to the compartment in such a way that it is moved in an oscillating manner with the reed as it moves back and forth (double arrow 17). The main nozzle 15 contains many channels corresponding to the number of colors processed; in the present case, the channel 15a for the thread F and a channel 15b for a second thread F '', which is currently being processed and comes from a thread eyelet 16.

The loom W is assigned a number of thread storage and delivery devices 1 'corresponding to the number of colors in multi-color weaving. The thread storage and delivery device 1 'with the color that has not just been processed (thread F) is in a resting phase (FIGS. 1 and 2). In the rest phase, the channel 15a is acted upon by a pressure medium flow, which acts on the thread F with a permanent holding pulling force P in the direction of the compartment and keeps it stretched. The free end F 'of the thread F projects over the main nozzle 15 into the area of all processed threads common cutting device 18, which is actuated periodically during the movement of the reed, for example for cutting the thread F ''. The free end F 'of the thread F projects with a length L beyond the main nozzle 15.

Fig. 1 shows the beginning of the rest phase of the device 1 '. The other thread F '' is just being inserted. The section 12 of the thread F forms an angle α with the last winding 11 ′ which is immediately adjacent to the windings 11 in the thread supply S. The standby tensile force P is permanently effective.

Due to the standby tensile force P and due to the oscillating movement (double arrow 17) of the main nozzle 15, an axially directed force component from the standby tensile force and its oscillation becomes effective in the thread F, which, according to FIG. 2, begins to gradually pull up at least the last turn 11 ', similar to one below axial tensile load set coil spring. A predominant part of at least the last turn 11 'gradually begins to migrate towards the stop element 13. Because of this migration and because the kink between the section 12 and the last turn 11 'extends to a (in the development of the storage area 4) substantially straight line, the free end F' of the thread F moves further from the main nozzle 15 into the Compartment, by a dimension L1. However, this increase in length causes the next actuation of the cutting device 18 to cut a section of the thread F '' just processed to cut off a piece x of the thread F which falls freely or is carried into the compartment. These free pieces of thread x accumulate from each thread during the resting phase, which gradually becomes a strong one Contamination in the entry inlet and leads to uncontrollable errors in the tissue.

The generation of these undesirable and uncontrollably occurring thread pieces x is avoided according to the invention in a thread storage and delivery device 1 according to FIG. 3 in that the stop element 13 is adjustable in the direction of a double arrow 19 in the axial direction of the storage element 2 towards the thread supply S until the axial distance between the stop element 13 and the last turn 11 'has a maximum value A max , at which it is ensured that the angle between the last turn 11' and the section 12 of the thread F only reaches a maximum value α max at which the axial component from the standby tensile force P is no longer sufficient to wind up the last turn 11 'in the manner described above. On the other hand, the values A max , α max are dimensioned so large that a collision between the last turn 11 ′ and the stop element 13 is excluded when the thread storage and delivery device 1 is working.

To set the thread storage and delivery device 1 according to FIG. 3, the axial position of the last turn 11 ′ is determined depending on the thread quality and the thread length required in the thread supply S, for example by setting the maximum sensor 8. The stop element 13 is then axially adjusted in the direction of the double arrow 19 until the axial distance has the maximum still permissible value A max which reliably prevents the opening of the last turn 11 '. The thread storage and delivery device can then be put into operation.

The thread storage and delivery device 1 according to FIG. 3 has the components shown in FIG. 1 and works in the same way with the weaving machine shown in FIG. 1. If the diameter of the storage surface 4 of the storage member 2 is adjustable, a single stop element 13 is sufficient to measure the exact length of the thread section. If, however, the diameter of the storage surface 4 of the storage member 2 is not adjustable in the thread storage and delivery device 1, a plurality of stop elements 13 spaced apart in the circumferential direction are provided, which are expediently combined in an annular body which can be adjusted in the direction of the double arrow 19.

The stop element 13 is accommodated in a housing 20 with drive elements, for example a magnet coil and a magnet armature. The housing 20 is housed at a radial distance from the storage surface 4 of the drum-shaped storage member 2 in a stationary housing 21, in one of several sockets 24, of which corresponding bores 23 allow the stop element 13 to exit. The stop element 13 is in its stop position in FIG. 4, in which it enters through a radial gap 27 between the storage surface 4 and the underside of the housing 21 into a recess 25 in the storage member 2. The thread is intercepted from the thread supply S on the stop element 13. The thread supply S is at a distance from the stop element 13 with the maximum value A max according to FIG. 3. In the thread supply S there is a thread with a very small diameter, so that the last turn 11 'lies at a considerable axial distance from the right end of the storage area 4.

The storage member 2 is provided with a plurality of axially aligned and spaced-apart depressions 25, so that after the housing 20 has been moved into one of the other sockets 24, the stop element 13 again finds a depression 25. In the embodiment of FIGS. 4 and 5, the stop element 13 can be adjusted in three stages. However, it is also conceivable to adjust the housing 20 continuously in the housing 21. Then, instead of the three depressions 25, an axial groove 26 which is open toward the storage surface 4 is expedient. The housing 21 is fixed in a holder 22.

It is also conceivable to adjust the housing 21 itself in the holder 22 in the axial direction instead of the housing 20, which allows the recess 28 in the holder 22.

Damit wiederum der maximale Wert Amax für den Abstand zwischen der letzten Windung 11' und dem Stopelement 13 eingehalten wird, ist das Gehäuse 20 im Gehäuse 21 nach rechts versetzt worden.5, a thicker thread with its turns 11 and the last turn 11 'is provided in the thread supply S. So that the maximum value A max for the distance between the last turn 11 ′ and the stop element 13 is again maintained, the housing 20 in the housing 21 has been moved to the right.

The maximum sensor 8 indicated in FIG. 3 could be structurally combined with the housing 20 in the housing 21 (FIGS. 4, 5), so that when the maximum sensor 8 is adjusted when changing to a different thread quality, the stop element 13 is also adjusted accordingly . The value A max of the distance between the stop element and the last thread turn 11 or the maximum sensor 8 can then be set in advance. In view of the fact that at different If thread quality the value A max is to be varied, it is then expedient to additionally provide a relative axial adjustability of the stop element 13 to the maximum sensor 8.

With regard to a sensitive adjustment of the stop element, the housing 20 could be held displaceably in an axial guide and be adjustable by means of a screw spindle. It would also be conceivable to adjust the housing 20 or the stop element 13 sensitively by means of an eccentric. Corresponding scales, which are visible from the outside, show an exact check of the respective setting. A further possibility for adjusting the stop element 13 consists in attaching the stop element 13 inserted in the form of a pin to a stop element carrier which is longer in the axial direction and which moves with the stop element 13 between its stop position and passive position.
