Abstract

Finger jointing press for making finger joints in boards (16), having two tables (5, 19), which are able to travel jointly on common tracks (1, 2) on conveying the board strip during the curing of the glue and are displaceable towards one another, for receiving continuously supplied boards (16), pressing devices (10, 10') which firmly hold the boards (16) when the tables (5, 19) are moved together and release them when the tables are moved apart being arranged above the tables (5, 19). The pressing devices (10, 10') can be pressed against the boards (16) by lever linkages (7, 7', 17, 17', 18, 18') which are pivotable by means of the connecting rods (9, 9') displacing the tables (5, 19). <IMAGE>
