- So-called water valves are known on the one hand.
- This includes sections of a downpipe that are commercially available in the usual downpipe diameters and, installed at a suitable location, are used to remove rainwater when necessary and, for example, to collect it in a barrel.
- the pipe section has a jacket opening, in the area of which an outlet channel corresponding to the jacket curvature is pivotably mounted about a single transverse axis in such a way that it can assume a closed and a water withdrawal position.
- the outlet channel covers the upper part of the opening from the outside and the lower part from the inside.
- the channel In the water withdrawal position, the channel is transverse to the pipe axis and is slightly inclined outwards, so that the falling water is collected and directed to the outside.
- the invention has for its object to propose a leaf catcher that can be cleaned easily and safely and is particularly inexpensive.
- this object is achieved according to the invention in that it has a leaf trap and a movable guide element for the optional removal of rainwater.
- Such an intermediate piece can be arranged like the usual water flaps in the lower part of the downpipe at handle height, so that there is no longer a risk of an accident.
- the additional possibility of removing water is created by a combined device which is cheaper than separate devices and whose installation is also attractive for those who initially do not correctly assess the dangerousness of the usual vertical downpipe inlet strainers.
- a particularly simple downpipe intermediate piece with leaf trap and water removal function is characterized in that an opening is provided on it, which, on the one hand, enables access to the sieve contained therein and, on the other hand, allows rainwater to be led out by means of the guide element.
- a particularly expedient embodiment has a tubular housing with an opening on the housing jacket and, as a guide element, has a channel which is curved in accordance with the housing jacket and which can optionally assume various positions in which it closes the opening, conducts the rainwater or in one for inserting and cleaning the
- the opening is clear enough.
- the latter is not the case with the known water valves. These can only be pivoted from the closed position into the water withdrawal position and prevent access to the downpipe in this position.
- it is advantageous, according to the above proposal to be able to remove the channel at least so far that the opening for inserting and removing and for cleaning the screen becomes free.
- the sieve is inserted in the lower part of the housing. It could e.g. B. be a tulip-shaped wire screen, as it is well known as an inlet screen of downpipes. A higher sieve is better.

- the guide element expediently a semicircular channel, receives its required mobility through the already mentioned double link. It is proposed that the link plates of this double link are articulated at one end above the opening on the housing shell and at the other end at the longitudinal edges of the channel and that the corresponding ends of the link plates are coaxial.
- An inlet plate with two functions should be attached to the inside of the housing. It extends over part of the circumference of the housing and is used for the complete introduction of the fall water into the gutter in the removal position.
- the inlet plate is drawn in at the lower edge like a funnel and thus overlaps the edge of the channel. Furthermore, it forms a stop for this, so that the channel can simply be brought into the removal position and remains stable therein.
- the pipe connections of the housing be designed as multi-stage reducers, in particular for the common diameters of 8, 10, 12 and 15 cm. By removing the section with the smallest diameter or several sections, a downpipe with any of these diameters can be connected. If the entire reducer is removed, it is also possible to connect the housing directly to a downpipe of the same diameter.
- the housing 1 of the intermediate piece shown is an approximately 66 cm long piece of a gutter downpipe made of sheet metal with a larger common diameter of 12 cm.
- triple stepped reducers 2 and 3 are attached, so that the largest diameter portion of the upper reducer 2 engages in the housing 1, while the corresponding section of the lower reducer 3 overlaps the housing 1, as it is when plugging together
- Downpipe sections is common to prevent water from escaping at the connection point.
- Sections 4 and 5 of the reducers have diameters of 10 and 8 cm, respectively. Down pipes with this small diameter can therefore be connected without any preparatory work.
- the respective section 5 is separated with the subsequent conical section and for connecting downpipes with a diameter of 12 cm, the fastening rivets are filed down and the reducers 2 and 3 are completely removed.
- the housing 1 has a larger opening 6, the edge of which is circular in the flat sheet metal blank (approximately 17 cm in diameter) and pointed at two diametrically opposite points has tapered gusset 7.
- the gussets are opposite to each other in the circumferential direction.
- a cross-sectionally approximately semicircular water flap 8 has approximately the same radius of curvature as the housing 1 and is articulated on the housing 1 by means of two band-shaped hinge plates 9 and 10.
- the articulation points 11 on the housing which are designed as rivets, are located above the gusset 7 and the articulation points 12 on the water flap 8 are located on their longitudinal edges at approximately one third of the length.
- the link plates 9 and 10 are so long that the articulation points 12 pivot into the gusset 7.
- a spherical handle 13 is attached near the outlet end of the water valve 8.
- the lower or inner edge strip 14 of the water flap is cranked, i. H. offset from the rest of the surface, so that it fits better into the housing in the closed position (Fig. 4).
- FIG. 1 shows the water removal position of the water flap 8. It is inclined downward by approximately 30 ° and, with its cranked inner edge arch, lies largely against the inner surface of the housing 1.
- An inlet plate 15 is fastened to the inner surface of the housing with two rivets 16 above the water flap.
- the lower edge region 17 of the inlet plate is bent inwards in the shape of a partial cone and covers the edge strip 14 of the water flap, so that all falling water is grasped and discharged by the water flap 8.
- the inlet plate 15 serves as a stop for the water flap 8, it defines the water withdrawal position and makes it easier to move the water flap 8 into this position.
- the intermediate piece is closed by the water flap 8 and the rainwater is in the downpipe forwarded.
- the water flap 8 is moved into the position according to FIG. 4, the upper part of the flap lying over the housing 1 from the outside and the lower part engaging in the housing.
- the longitudinal edge of the water valve 8 enters the housing at the tip of the gusset 7.
- the link plates 9 and 10 run approximately parallel to the tube axis.
- the swiveled-out outlet end of the water flap 8 is held in this position by means of a swivel bolt 19 mounted at 18, which is angled forwards in order to be able to grip it and to be able to put the flap upwards (FIG. 5).
- a sieve 20 is used as a leaf catcher. It consists of a base ring 21, which in the example stands on the upper conical surface of the reducer 3. On this base ring 21, twelve wire rods 22 are fastened, which stand upward as the surface lines of a pointed cone and are held together at the tip by a cap 23.
- the water flap 8 is pivoted upwards away from the opening 6, so that the opening is completely free. This is shown in FIG. 5.
- the swivel bar 19 is dimensioned and attached in such a way that the raised water flap stands with its lower edge on the angled part of the swivel bar and thus cannot fall off during the sieve cleaning.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an intermediate piece for a gutter downpipe with an inlet and an outlet pipe connection.
So-called water valves are known on the one hand. This includes sections of a downpipe that are commercially available in the usual downpipe diameters and, installed at a suitable location, are used to remove rainwater when necessary and, for example, to collect it in a barrel. The pipe section has a jacket opening, in the area of which an outlet channel corresponding to the jacket curvature is pivotably mounted about a single transverse axis in such a way that it can assume a closed and a water withdrawal position. In the closed position, the outlet channel covers the upper part of the opening from the outside and the lower part from the inside. In the water withdrawal position, the channel is transverse to the pipe axis and is slightly inclined outwards, so that the falling water is collected and directed to the outside.
On the other hand, it is known at the inlet of the downpipe, i. H. where it is connected to the gutter with a slight widening, use a sieve if running roof must be expected on the roof in question. To clean the screen, it is necessary to climb the ladder to the eaves, which is tedious and dangerous.
The invention has for its object to propose a leaf catcher that can be cleaned easily and safely and is particularly inexpensive.
Starting from an intermediate piece of the type described in the introduction, this object is achieved according to the invention in that it has a leaf trap and a movable guide element for the optional removal of rainwater. Such an intermediate piece can be arranged like the usual water flaps in the lower part of the downpipe at handle height, so that there is no longer a risk of an accident. The additional possibility of removing water is created by a combined device which is cheaper than separate devices and whose installation is also attractive for those who initially do not correctly assess the dangerousness of the usual vertical downpipe inlet strainers.
It is particularly expedient to form the guide element by means of two z. B. hinged strip-shaped link plates so that it can be moved to all desired positions, but remains connected to the intermediate piece and can not be lost.
A particularly simple downpipe intermediate piece with leaf trap and water removal function is characterized in that an opening is provided on it, which, on the one hand, enables access to the sieve contained therein and, on the other hand, allows rainwater to be led out by means of the guide element.
A particularly expedient embodiment has a tubular housing with an opening on the housing jacket and, as a guide element, has a channel which is curved in accordance with the housing jacket and which can optionally assume various positions in which it closes the opening, conducts the rainwater or in one for inserting and cleaning the The opening is clear enough. The latter is not the case with the known water valves. These can only be pivoted from the closed position into the water withdrawal position and prevent access to the downpipe in this position. In contrast, it is advantageous, according to the above proposal, to be able to remove the channel at least so far that the opening for inserting and removing and for cleaning the screen becomes free. The sieve is inserted in the lower part of the housing. It could e.g. B. be a tulip-shaped wire screen, as it is well known as an inlet screen of downpipes. A higher sieve is better. A conical sieve made of wire rods has proven to be particularly useful.
With regard to the manufacture of the proposed intermediate piece, it is advantageous to make the blank of the housing jacket opening circular, so that it can be cut out with a circular cutter or punched out with a simple tool, after which two diametrically opposed gussets must be attached.
The guide element, expediently a semicircular channel, receives its required mobility through the already mentioned double link. It is proposed that the link plates of this double link are articulated at one end above the opening on the housing shell and at the other end at the longitudinal edges of the channel and that the corresponding ends of the link plates are coaxial.
An inlet plate with two functions should be attached to the inside of the housing. It extends over part of the circumference of the housing and is used for the complete introduction of the fall water into the gutter in the removal position. For this purpose, the inlet plate is drawn in at the lower edge like a funnel and thus overlaps the edge of the channel. Furthermore, it forms a stop for this, so that the channel can simply be brought into the removal position and remains stable therein.
To reduce storage due to universal applicability, it is proposed that the pipe connections of the housing be designed as multi-stage reducers, in particular for the common diameters of 8, 10, 12 and 15 cm. By removing the section with the smallest diameter or several sections, a downpipe with any of these diameters can be connected. If the entire reducer is removed, it is also possible to connect the housing directly to a downpipe of the same diameter.

The
A little above the center, the
A cross-sectionally approximately
Fig. 1 zeigt die Wasserentnahmestellung der Wasserklappe 8.
In the lower part of the
