Definitions
- the invention relates to a slatted frame according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the width of the gaps should correspond approximately to the width of the female connectors.
- the spaces between adjacent female connectors must not be too wide. Otherwise there is a risk that thin foam mattress pads in particular are subjected to heavy loads on one side, e.g. with one knee through which gaps are forced. Therefore slatted frames with a large number of narrow slats with correspondingly small gaps are generally required.
- Slatted frames should also at least partially adapt to the respective body shape of the user, so that the body of the user does not only press into the mattress cushion, but at least partially also causes an elastic deformation of the relevant slats. For this reason too, as many narrow female connectors as possible with sufficient spring action are desired in principle.
- Narrow slats have the disadvantage that they reduce the convenience of use because they bounce heavily under one-sided loading and the slatted frames provided with them are therefore felt to be too soft and uncomfortable.
- the users of the slatted frames are of different weights. Therefore, a slatted frame can look too hard for a light-weight user if it has just the right flexibility for a heavy-weight user. Conversely, a slatted frame that is optimal for a light-weight user can be perceived as much too soft by a heavy user.
- slatted frames as consumer goods should be manufactured as cheaply as possible and offered to the end consumer. Therefore, on the one hand, it is desirable to keep the wood consumption per slatted frame as small as possible, and on the other hand it is not possible to provide a plurality of different types of slatted frames, from which a user can select the type that is appropriate for his body weight.
- the slatted frames on the market today are all provided with slats, which have a width down to approx. 38 mm and a thickness of approx. 8 mm, whereby they are considered satisfactory for average users, if they too by no means meet all requirements.
- a further reduction in the width of the female connectors below 38 mm is not considered possible because such narrow female connectors are too soft and elastic for average users, and would therefore have to be compensated for by a simultaneous increase in the female connector thickness to 9 mm or more. This would increase wood consumption, which is undesirable for the reasons mentioned above.
- the facilities for Individual adjustment of the spring properties also only serve to further increase the basic stiffness due to the presence of the central belt, ie it is not possible with such devices to reduce the existing basic stiffness if this should be desired to increase lying comfort. So far, this has resulted not only in comparatively complicated slatted frames, but also in terms of the spring properties, which makes little sense.
- the object of the invention is to propose a slatted frame, which is also provided with means for individually adjusting the spring force of the slats, but neither to increase wood consumption nor to rattle noises leads.
- the slatted frame is given a high basic elasticity by using comparatively narrow spring slats. This results in a slatted frame that is so flexible that it could practically not be used without further measures.
- the ends of the female connectors are inserted into pocket-shaped bearing bodies attached to the frame and are therefore held securely on the frame despite their flexibility.
- Fig. 1 shows schematically a side part 1 of a spring mattress or a slatted frame, which consists for example of a hollow profile with a rectangular cross-section.
- a plurality of pocket-shaped bearing bodies 2 are fastened, in which the one ends of spring (wood) strips 3 are inserted.
- Corresponding bearing bodies 5 are fastened to the opposite side part 4 (FIG. 2), into which the other ends of the spring strips 3 protrude.
- spring strips 3 are arranged, between which spaces 8 corresponding to the width of the spring strips are provided.
- the bracket 9 consists of a rigid, solid body, which is made, for example, of plastic by injection molding and has four adjacent through openings 10, which are arranged with their axes 11 parallel to one another and have essentially the same central plane 12.
- the distance between the through openings 10 corresponds to the distance between the female connectors 3a to 3d in the slatted base according to FIG. 2, while the cross sections of the through openings 10 essentially correspond to the cross sections of the female connectors 3a to 3d.
- the upper and lower wall parts 9a and 9b of the clip 9 delimiting the through openings 10 are therefore in positive contact with the upper and lower sides of the inserted spring strips 3a to 3d.
- these four female connectors 3a to 3d are coupled or clamped to one another with regard to movements perpendicular to the surface formed by the slatted frame (arrow v in FIG. 4). This means that when a local pressure is exerted in the area of the clip on one of the female connectors, for example female connector 3b, the remaining three female connectors 3a, 3c and 3d are also loaded via the clip.
- the four female connectors 3a to 3d form a unit defining the elastic properties or a field with a width corresponding to the width of four female connectors 3 connected with each other.
- the elastic properties the unit or field therefore essentially corresponds to that of a female connector with four times the width, since the four female connectors 3a to 3d in the area of the clamp 9 cannot move relative to one another or can be pressed in individually.
- the slatted frame acts as elastically hard in the area of this clamp 9.
- the slatted frame appears increasingly elastic, because there the clamping effect no longer has such a strong effect and the individual female connectors 3a to 3d in the direction of arrow v are more relative are displaceable to each other.
- brackets 15 and 16 can also be provided instead of the bracket 9, each of which can couple three or only two female connectors 3 to one another.
- the effect of the respectively coupled female connectors 3 is analogous to the effect achieved by the clip 9.
- FIG. 2 also shows how the slatted frame can be divided into a plurality of zones or fields with different elastic properties using the clips 9, 15 and 16 as required. While at the head and foot end the clips can possibly be completely omitted due to the normally low loads there during use, clips can be attached in the middle part which carries the user's torso according to the individual needs of the user. Thereby despite the use of a large number of very narrow, for example only 25 mm wide and 8 mm thick female connectors 3, which are individually very elastic or soft, there is the possibility of producing fields with very low elasticity or great hardness, as is the case, for example, for heavy people User is required. In addition, it is of course also possible to couple a bracketed field, for example consisting of three adjacent female connectors, to other female connectors or fields, as is indicated in FIG. 2 by brackets 15 and 16, for example.
- a bracketed field for example consisting of three adjacent female connectors
- the brackets 9 and 15 have through openings which serve to receive a female connector 3 each, are delimited by a circumferential wall that is closed on all sides, and are kept at a distance by intermediate walls 17 or the like.
- the through openings 10 therefore have essentially the same height and width as the female connectors 3.
- the through opening 18 accordingly has e.g. two receptacles 19 with a height corresponding to the thickness of the female connectors and a passage of lower height connecting both receptacles 18, so that their width corresponds to the sum of two female connector widths and the width of the passage in between.
- clamp constructions are also possible, in particular those in which the clamp walls have a lateral slot opening or the like extending to one of the through openings 10 or 18 and are therefore pushed parallel to the central axis 14 (FIG. 2) onto the spring strips 3 or can be subtracted from these provided that the brackets are nevertheless sufficiently rigid to effect the desired coupling.
- the clips in such a way that they are placed on two spring strips spaced apart by a spring strip and have an intermediate web or the like which merely rests on or engages under the spring strip lying therebetween.
- Meandering clips can also be used, which alternately overlap or underneath adjacent female connectors. For reasons of stability, however, it has proven to be advantageous to use staples with through openings 10, 18 and to use them according to FIGS.
- the through openings 10, 18 are expediently dimensioned such that the clips 9, 15 and 16 are arranged with a sliding fit on the female connectors 3 and, if necessary, can be moved, but cannot cause rattling or squeaking noises.
- the slatted frame in selected zones, in particular in the central area, with spring slats which have different cross sections and to give different cross sections according to the through openings of the clamps.
- the clips 9, 15 and 16 preferably consist of one-piece or one-piece plastic bodies, in particular injection-molded plastic bodies. This ensures that the additional costs associated with the use of the brackets are comparatively low and that the brackets have only an insignificant effect on the total price of the slatted frame.
