Description

The invention relates to an inking unit for use in a printing press with a working doctor blade which can be set on an anilox roller and an ink tray with inking means.

An inking unit of this type known from the magazine "Der Polygraph" 13-88, page 1103, has separate holders for the working doctor blade forming part of a chambered doctor blade on the one hand and the ink tray with the ink conveying means on the other hand. Apart from the fact that two brackets are required, the chamber doctor and the ink tray must be removed one after the other with each color change. Then another chamber squeegee and ink tray must also be reattached separately.

Patent right EP 0 278 225 A3 shows a short inking unit, in which a chamber doctor blade is attached to an anilox roller, which is connected pressure-tight to an ink source. According to the US Pat. No. 4,625,643, the ink supply including the pump, the doctor blade and the ink tray are combined to form a structural unit in connection with an anilox roller. However, both devices are also structurally complex and cumbersome with regard to a color change, especially since the anilox roller has to be replaced separately.

The US Pat. No. 3,500,745 shows an inking unit in which a feed roller including a doctor blade and an ink tray are combined to form an exchangeable structural unit. The feed roller is detachably connected to a drive shaft parallel to it via drive gears.

The invention has for its object to provide a structurally simple arrangement that minimizes the elements to be replaced separately for an accelerated color change.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by applying the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Fig. 1 shows a plate cylinder 1, on which an equally large inking roller 2 is set with a resilient ink-accepting surface. The inking roller 2 is in contact with an anilox roller 3, which has a hard surface provided with small cups. The plate cylinder 1, the inking roller 2 and the anilox roller 3 are mounted between side walls 11 of the printing press. The anilox roller 3 interacts with a chamber doctor blade 4, which has a working doctor blade 5. The doctor blade 4 is firmly placed on an ink pan 6. In the ink tank 6, a pump 7 is arranged, which conveys the ink from the ink tank 6 through a line 8 to the doctor blade 4. A motor 9, preferably an electric motor for driving the pump 7, is also fixedly arranged in or on the ink pan 6. The chambered doctor blade 4 with the working doctor blade 5 thus forms a structural unit together with the ink tray 6, the pump 7 and the motor 9.

A traverse 10 is provided for fastening the assembly to the printing press, the two ends of which are rotatably mounted in the side walls 11 of the printing press. Several beams 12 are placed firmly on the cross member 10. Each carrier 12 has a rear Stop bar 13 and two side stop bars 14 for the paint tray 6. A locking lever 16 is connected to the front of the carrier 12 so as to be pivotable about an axis 15. The locking lever 16 has a recess which can overlap a locking pin 17 on the front wall of the ink tray 6. An adjusting lever 18 is also firmly attached to the crossmember 10, and an adjusting rod 19 of a pneumatic or hydraulic adjusting cylinder 20 is articulated on its free end. The actuating cylinder 20 is pivotally mounted by means of a holding rod 21 on a pin 22 fixedly attached to the side wall 11. On the side wall 11, an extension 23 is also provided, through which an adjusting screw 24 is screwed. The adjusting screw 24 limits the swivel path of the actuating lever 18 in the direction of arrow a and thus the pitch of the working doctor blade 5 against the anilox roller 3. The adjusting arrangement shown in FIG. 2 is expediently again provided in the same way on the opposite side wall.

To replace the assembly 6, 7, 9, the actuating cylinder 20 is actuated so that it moves the cross member 10 against the direction of arrow a, so that the chambered doctor blade 4 is lifted off the anilox roller 3. Then the locking between the parts 16, 17 is released by pivoting the locking lever 16 counterclockwise. Now the assembly consisting of doctor blade 4, ink tray 6, pump 7 and motor 9 can be removed from the carrier 12. Another unit is attached in the reverse order.

Depending on the size and purpose of the printing press, only one structural unit extending over the entire length of the anilox roller 3 or, as in the exemplary embodiment, a plurality of structural units arranged side by side can be provided.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, a structural unit is used which comprises a chambered doctor blade 30, an ink tray 31, a pump 32 and a motor 33. In a departure from the first exemplary embodiment, a fixed support 34 is provided here, which is on the two side walls of the printing press, not shown is attached. An actuating shaft 35 is rotatably mounted on the carrier 34 and carries two actuating arms 36, 37 on each side of the ink tank 31. The actuating arms 36, 37 cooperate with a pin 38, which are each attached to an outside of the ink pan 31.

In the position shown in FIG. 3, the chamber doctor 30 is set against a screen roller 39 by means of the actuating arm 36 via the pin 38 in the direction of arrow b. By turning the adjusting shaft 35 counterclockwise, the assembly units 30 to 33 are turned off by the anilox roller 39 against the direction of arrow b via the actuating arms 37 and the pins 38, so that the assembly is removed from the machine and a new assembly is used can. It is also possible to dispense with the actuating arms 37.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, a structural unit is provided which comprises a chambered doctor blade 40, an ink tray 41 and a pump 42. A motor 43 is provided to drive the pump and is attached to a side wall 44 of the printing press. The motor 43 drives a shaft 45, on which a bevel gear 46 is placed for each pump 42 to be driven. The bevel gear 46 is in engagement with a bevel gear 47 which is firmly placed on an output shaft 48. One half of a releasable coupling 49 sits on the output shaft 48, the other half of which is fastened on a pump shaft 50.

On each of the two side walls 44, a bushing 51 is fastened, on which an end flange 52 of a carrier 53 is rotatably mounted. The carrier 53 in turn serves to hold the structural unit consisting of the doctor blade 40, ink pan 41 and pump 42. By swiveling the carrier 53, the structural unit 40 to 42 can in turn be placed on an anilox roller 54 with the working doctor blade 56 or can be removed from it. A locking lever 55, which can be designed in the same way as in the first exemplary embodiment, is used to fix the structural unit 40 to 42 on the carrier 53. The pivoting of the carrier 53 around the bushings 51 can, as in the first exemplary embodiment, take place by means of an actuating cylinder.

To remove the structural unit 40 to 42 from the carrier 53, the latter is pivoted a short distance counterclockwise and then the locking lever 55 is moved into the unlocked position. The assembly 40, 42 can now be pulled off the carrier 53 in the direction of the arrow c. Here, the two halves of the coupling 49 come out of engagement. In the reverse order, a new unit can be attached to the carrier 53.

Die Abtriebswelle 66 steht über zwei Kegelzahnräder 67, 68 mit einer Antriebswelle 69 in Verbindung die, ebenso wie beim vorhergehenden Ausführungsbeispiel, an beiden Enden an den Seitenwänden der Druckmaschine gelagert und mittels eines Motors antreibbar ist.6, a fixed support 60 is used, the two side edges of which are fastened to the side walls of the machine in a manner not shown. An assembly can be placed on the carrier 60, which has a chambered doctor blade 61 with a working doctor blade 80, an ink tray 62 and a pump 63. The pump 63 has a pump shaft 64 which can be connected to an output shaft 66 via a releasable coupling 65. The output shaft 66 is connected via two bevel gears 67, 68 to a drive shaft 69 which, like in the previous exemplary embodiment, is supported at both ends on the side walls of the printing press and can be driven by a motor.

In a departure from the arrangement according to FIGS. 4 and 5, according to FIG. 7, the structural unit additionally includes an actuating element 70 which is attached firmly to the doctor blade 61 or the ink tray 62. The actuating element 70 has a pin 71 on the output side, which engages in a sliding block 72. A pin 73 is partially inserted into the sliding block 72 and passes through a longitudinal slot 74. The freely protruding from the sliding block 72 end of the pin 73 passes through an elastic seal 76 and a fitting bore in a doctor blade 77. The doctor blade 77 is held by means of a clamping jaw 78 on the housing 75 of the chamber doctor blade 61 so that it in or against the direction of Arrow d can be moved. With this arrangement, the doctor blade 77 of the chamber doctor blade 61 is thus not adjusted to an anilox roller 79 by moving the entire structural unit 61 to 63 but by an individual adjustment of the doctor blade 77. In principle, however, there is the possibility of this Adjustability of the doctor blade also to be provided in the other exemplary embodiments if a fine adjustment of the blade is additionally desired.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 8 and 9, a pivotable carrier 85, which is designed and mounted in the same way as in the arrangement according to FIGS. 4 and 5, is provided. A unit can be placed on the carrier 85, which comprises an ink pan 86, a pump 87, a chamber doctor blade 88 with a working doctor blade 89 and an anilox roller 90. The anilox roller 90 is rotatably mounted about an axis 91. The axis 91 is inserted at both ends in a fork-shaped holder 92. In order to prevent rotation of the axis, it is provided with a flat 93 in the area of the holder 92. The structural unit can additionally comprise an actuating element 94 which corresponds to the actuating element 70 according to FIG. 7 and by means of which the working doctor blade 89 can be placed individually on the anilox roller 90.

Zur Fixierung der Baueinheit 86, 87, 88, 90 dient wiederum ein Riegelhebel 102.To drive the pump 87, a drive shaft 96 is provided which drives an output shaft 99 via two cone carriers 97, 98. One half of a coupling 100 sits on the output shaft, the other half of which is fastened on a pump shaft 101. A locking lever 102 in turn serves to fix the assembly 86, 87, 88, 90.

By pivoting the carrier 85 in the direction of the arrow e, the anilox roller 90 is placed against an inking roller 95 in this embodiment. By pivoting the carrier 85 in the opposite direction, the anilox roller 90 is lifted off the inking roller 95. In this position, the assembly 86, 87, 88, 90 can be replaced.

In this exemplary embodiment, too, a plurality of structural units 86, 87, 88, 90 are in turn arranged side by side, so that it is possible to print plate-wide with different colors. The arrangement described above makes it easier, on the one hand, to replace the anilox roller 90, since this together with the Unit is removed from the printing press. This is of particular importance since it is desirable to be able to use different screenings for different printing inks. It can therefore be easily provided for different printing inks units with anilox rollers different screening. In addition, the replacement of the anilox roller of a unit is very easy.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 10, a pivotable carrier 110 is provided, which is designed in the same way as the carrier 12 according to FIGS. 1 and 2 and can also be pivoted in the same way. A paint tray 111 can be placed on the carrier 110. A dipping roller 112 is arranged in the ink tank 111 and partially dips into the ink. The dipping roller 112 interacts with an anilox roller 113. The anilox roller 113 is rotatably mounted about an axis 114. The axis 114 is held non-rotatably in a fork-shaped holder 115. The holder 115 is firmly connected to the ink pan 111. A clamping bracket 116 for a doctor blade knife 117 is also attached to the ink pan 111.

The anilox roller 113 interacts with an applicator roller 118 which is mounted on the side walls of the printing press, not shown. The dipping roller 112 can be set in rotation by friction from the application roller 118 via the anilox roller 113. However, there is also the possibility of assigning the immersion roller 112 its own motor for driving, which is attached to the ink pan 111. Ultimately, a central drive according to FIGS. 4 and 5 can also be provided for the plunger roller 112.

In this embodiment, the ink tray 111 with the rollers 112, 113 and the doctor blade 117 form an interchangeable unit. Here, too, there is again the particular advantage that the ink pan 111 is directly associated with an anilox roller 113 adapted to the color contained in it. In the event of a color change, there is therefore no need to separately replace an anilox roller stored in the machine.
