Abstract

Description

Ein kniehebelbetätigter Spannringverschluß mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 ist aus der DE-U-76 11 482 bekannt. Der Spannhebel ist dabei an dem einen Ende des Spannringes schwenkbar gelagert, während die mit dem Spannhebel verbundene Zuglasche an dem dem Spannhebel zugewandten Ende des Überbrückungsstückes schwenkbar angelenkt ist. Das andere Ende des Überbrückungsstückes ist mit dem von dem Spannhebel abgewandten Ende des Spannringes fest verbunden. Das Überbrückungsstück ist in Draufsicht gesehen entsprechend der Krümmung des Spannringes gekrümmt und im Querschnitt halbkreisförmig gekrümmt und zur Mitte des Spannringes hin offen. Die Krümmung des Überbrückungsstückes entspricht der Querschnittsprofilierung des Spannringes. Das Überbrückungsstück kann sich somit satt an der Außenfläche des freien Endes des Spannringes anlegen und bildet für dieses Ende eine Führung, wenn das Spannringende bei Spannen des Verschlusses in dem Überbrückungsstück verschieblich gleitet. Das Überbrückungsstück weist an seinem dem Spannhebel zugewandten Ende einseitig einen über die Längskante vorspringenden, einstückig angeformten Lappen auf, der um die eine Längskante des in dem Überbrückungsstück verschieblichen Endes des Spannringes zur Sicherung dieses Endes in dem Überbrückungsstück umgelegt werden kann. In der Schließstellung liegt somit der Spannhebel direkt über dem Spannring in einem Umfangsabstand von dem die Umfangsenden des Spannringes aufnehmenden Überbrückungsstückes. Bei diesem bekannten Verschluß sind zwar beide Umfangsenden des Spannringes in dem Überbrückungsstück ständig angeordnet, wobei das eine, frei bewegliche Umfangsende in dem Überbrückungsstück geführt und gesichert ist. Diese Sicherung reicht jedoch in vielen Fällen bei der teilweise hohen Beanspruchung des Randes eines solchen Behälters durch Einwirkung äußerer Kräfte nicht aus, um ein seitliches Ausweichen der Umfangsenden des Spannringes oder eine Verformung des Überbrückungsstückes auszuschließen.A toggle-operated clamping ring closure with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from DE-U-76 11 482. Darüberhinaus ist jedoch das freie, bewegliche Umfangsende des Spannringes in jeder Phase des Schließ- oder Öffnungsvorganges über seine ganze Eingriffslänge am Überbrückungsstück gehalten und zuverlässig geführt. Ein seitliches Ausweichen des Umfangsendes des Spannringes ist daher bei Betätigung des Verschlusses unter keinen Umständen zu befürchten. Die Formstabilität des Verschlußbereiches wird dabei ganz wesentlich dadurch erhöht, daß in der Schließstellung der dem Profil des Spannringes und des Überbrückungsstückes angepaßte Spannhebel zusätzlich die Enden des Spannringes und des Überbrückungsstückes auf dessen ganzer Länge an allen freien Seiten zuverlässig übergreift. Claims (3)

  1. A clamping ring, actuated by an angled lever, for containers (1) made of sheet metal, such as a bucket, shipping container or the like, with a press-in lid (2), wherein the container edge is curled or edged outwards (9), the lid (2) has a peripheral flange open towards the bottom and is approximately U-shaped in cross-section, and the edging and the peripheral flange (5) can be pressed together in a sealing manner with the interposition of a sealing ring (11) by means of the clamping ring (15), the clamping ring having a clamping lever (22) and a pull clip (26), each secured on a peripheral end of the slotted clamping ring or on a profiled bridging part bent to correspond to the clamping ring, the bridging part having a web engaging around the free longitudinal edge of the clamping ring and wherein the other end of the clamping ring is contained in such a manner as to always be displaceable, characterised in that the web engaging around the longitudinal edge (19) of the clamping ring (15) is formed as a guide (21) extending over the entire free length of the bridging part (20), and the clamping lever (22), profiled so as to correspond to the profile of the bridging part (20), is linked (at 25) to the bridging part (20) in such a manner that in the closed position of the bridging part (20) the clamping lever (22) surrounds the said part from the exterior over its entire length.
  2. A clamping ring in accordance with claim 1, wherein the clamping ring, the bridging part and the clamping lever have profiles corresponding to one another, characterised in that the said parts (15, 20, 22) are each of approximately trapezoidal cross-section, the axial external arm (19) of the clamping ring (15) engaging, radially inwards, above the lid (2) and the free longitudinal edge of the external limb of the bridging part (20) is turned inwards over its entire length, thus forming the guide (21).
  3. A clamping ring in accordance with claim 1 or 2, characterised in that one end of the bridging part (20) is firmly connected to a peripheral end (15a) of the clamping ring (15) and has a tongue (29), projecting in the peripheral direction and having an end (30) angled so as to be catch-shaped, and in the closed position the said tongue projects through an aperture (32) in the clamping lever (22) and engages above the clamping lever in a locking manner, and is formed, for opening purposes, with a predetermined breaking region (31).
