Definitions
- the invention relates to a rectangular door leaf made of metal, in particular for a folding door, the door leaves of which are designed to be torsionally rigid and are cantilevered in pivot joints with a vertical pivot axis, each with a rectangular frame in the contour of the finished door leaf, the at least four frame webs made of rectangular profiles has, which extend flush along the four sides of the rectangle and define two mutually plane-parallel support surfaces, in which the frame webs extend with one of their sides, and with two rectangular cover plates, which completely cover the frame on both sides of the support surfaces of the frame and with the Frames are connected.
- the second cover plate must be spotted on the outside and Weld spots damage the outer skin of this cover plate. All of this has to be reworked. It has also proven to be disadvantageous that the material is distorted by spot welding, unless extraordinary care is taken.
- the object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages for the cover plates caused by spot welding and to simplify the production of door leaves equipped with cover plates, in particular with the aim of making the door leaves lighter and more precise.
- the invention is characterized in that the cover plates are connected to the frame by gluing and that the frame webs are glued together to form a rigid frame.
- the frame is only glued by a light, simple connection, which is just sufficient to give the frame webs the support required for further processing to the door leaf so that the frame can be moved by hand without the risk that the individual frame webs can undesirably shift relative to their mutually aligned position in which they are connected to one another.
- the frame only finds its final hold for the stiffening by gluing it to the cover plates.
- Modern adhesives especially two-component adhesives, also offer a sufficiently firm bond for metals.
- the glue offers extensive adhesion, so that a higher dimensional stability is achieved, which allows lower material thicknesses to be used with the same stability and torsional rigidity. This in turn leads to the desired weight saving.
- Post-processing is not necessary when gluing, especially If the outer skin of the cover plates is not impaired by the gluing, it can therefore be completely and completely prepared before the gluing and then requires no further processing. This is an extremely simplification of the manufacturing process.
- the frame webs that extend along the long sides are connected to the other frame webs and possibly also to the frame rungs by gluing to form a stable frame.
- the invention allows the use of aluminum for the cover plates and / or the frame webs and optionally also the frame rungs.
- the additional dimensional stability achieved by the glue makes up for the lower stiffness of the aluminum, so that, if at all, the material thickness required for aluminum is only slightly less than for steel. Overall, additional weight savings are achieved through the use of aluminum.
- the gluing can be carried out by extending over the entire surfaces lying on the one hand from the frame and from the cover plate on the other. But this is generally not necessary.
- the procedure is expediently such that the frame webs are first put together to form the frame, so that the cover plates are then glued on.
- FIG. 1 designates a six-wing folding door, the left wing part of the door leaves 3, 4 and 5 and the right wing part of the door leaves 7 to 9. All door leaves are designed to be torsionally rigid, have the shape of an elongated, upright rectangle and are supported in pivot joints, such as pivot joints 14, 16, so that they can be pivotably supported about vertical axes 17, 18. The door leaves 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 are therefore only carried by the swivel joints and are neither hung on the upper edge nor supported on the lower edge.
- the door leaf 4 is shown in FIG. 3, but without fittings, that is to say without pivot joints.
- the door leaf consists of a rectangular frame 25, two rectangular cover plates 26, 27 and two inserted sheet metal strips 28, 29.
- the frame 25 in turn consists of four frame webs 30, 31, 32, 33 and a frame rung 54.
- the frame webs and the frame rungs consist of Rectangular profile.
- the frame webs 30 and 32 extend along the longitudinal sides of the rectangle, the frame webs 31, 33 extend in between along the rectangular narrow sides and the frame rung 54 extends between the frame webs 31, 33 on the one hand and between the frame webs 30, 32 on the other hand parallel to the frame webs 31, 33 .
- the frame webs define two flat support surfaces 34, 35 in which they each extend with one of their sides, for example the sides facing the viewer for the support surface 35 in FIG. 3.
- the frame webs are glued to one another along the end faces of the frame webs 31, 33 and the frame rung 54.
- the prefabricated cover plates 26, 27 are glued to the frame 25.
- the cover plates 26, 27 are dimensioned to protrude along the long sides of the rectangle and are bent at right angles around the frame 25.
- the protruding strips 40, 41, 42 and the fourth strip not visible in the drawing extend almost to the center of the frame 43.
- a slot 44 remains free on each side between the angled strips 40, 41, 42 an inserted rubber strip 45 is filled.
- the slot that is not visible in the drawing and the corresponding rubber strip are designed in exactly the same way as the visible slot 44 and the rubber strip 45.
- the cover plates 26, 27 protrude beyond the frame 25 along the short sides of the rectangle. This creates a free gap 46, 47 on both narrow ends of the door leaf 4, which is filled by a form-fitting metal strip 28, 29 made of a U-profile. As can be seen from FIG. 4 above, the open side of the profile points outwards.
- the sheet metal strips 28, 29 can be clamped there in a form-fitting manner or also glued in.
- the gluing for the cover plates can extend over the entire contact surfaces of the contact surfaces 34, 35.
- the contact surfaces of the frame are formed by the relevant side surfaces of the frame webs 30-33 and the frame rung 54.
- the contact surface of the frame facing the viewer of FIG. 3 is designated 57.
- the contact surfaces of the cover plates 26, 27 are defined by the outline of the associated contact surface of the frame.
- the procedure for manufacturing the door leaf is as follows: First, the frame webs 30, 31, 32, 33 and the frame rung 54 are connected to one another by gluing. It is sufficient if the connection ensures the stability of the frame required for further processing. Then the cover plates are glued on.
- the cover plate 27 is pressed onto the frame and glued in the desired orientation and then the other frame side and the other cover plate 26 are moved accordingly. Then the rubber strips 45 and the opposite rubber strip are drawn in and the metal strips 28 and 29 are inserted and clamped or glued to the frame.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a rectangular door leaf made of metal, in particular for a folding door, the door leaves of which are designed to be torsionally rigid and are cantilevered in pivot joints with a vertical pivot axis, each with a rectangular frame in the contour of the finished door leaf, the at least four frame webs made of rectangular profiles has, which extend flush along the four sides of the rectangle and define two mutually plane-parallel support surfaces, in which the frame webs extend with one of their sides, and with two rectangular cover plates, which completely cover the frame on both sides of the support surfaces of the frame and with the Frames are connected.
In such a folding door, as is known from DE-PS 3468473, three door leaves are cantilevered for each side. These three door leaves can be folded into an accordion-like package to open them. For the function of such a folding door, it is important that the individual door leaves are torsionally rigid and as light as possible. In the known folding door, these door leaves consist of sheet steel with a steel frame and the cover plates are fixed to the steel frame by spot welding. For the first cover plate, spot welding can be carried out from the inside. If one measures them appropriately differentiated and the cover plate is of sufficient strength, then it is possible to carry out the spot welding in such a way that it does not damage the exposed outside of the cover plate in question. However, this is based on a difficult, expensive work technique.
The second cover plate must be spotted on the outside and Weld spots damage the outer skin of this cover plate. All of this has to be reworked. It has also proven to be disadvantageous that the material is distorted by spot welding, unless extraordinary care is taken.
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages for the cover plates caused by spot welding and to simplify the production of door leaves equipped with cover plates, in particular with the aim of making the door leaves lighter and more precise.
The invention is characterized in that the cover plates are connected to the frame by gluing and that the frame webs are glued together to form a rigid frame.
The frame is only glued by a light, simple connection, which is just sufficient to give the frame webs the support required for further processing to the door leaf so that the frame can be moved by hand without the risk that the individual frame webs can undesirably shift relative to their mutually aligned position in which they are connected to one another. The frame only finds its final hold for the stiffening by gluing it to the cover plates.
Modern adhesives, especially two-component adhesives, also offer a sufficiently firm bond for metals. In contrast to spot welding, the glue offers extensive adhesion, so that a higher dimensional stability is achieved, which allows lower material thicknesses to be used with the same stability and torsional rigidity. This in turn leads to the desired weight saving. Post-processing is not necessary when gluing, especially If the outer skin of the cover plates is not impaired by the gluing, it can therefore be completely and completely prepared before the gluing and then requires no further processing. This is an extremely simplification of the manufacturing process.
It is expedient to start from a door leaf in which the two frame webs extending along the narrow sides and possibly additionally in between and parallel to them frame rungs are arranged between the frame webs extending along the long sides.
In such a case, it is recommended that the frame webs that extend along the long sides are connected to the other frame webs and possibly also to the frame rungs by gluing to form a stable frame.
The invention allows the use of aluminum for the cover plates and / or the frame webs and optionally also the frame rungs. The additional dimensional stability achieved by the glue makes up for the lower stiffness of the aluminum, so that, if at all, the material thickness required for aluminum is only slightly less than for steel. Overall, additional weight savings are achieved through the use of aluminum.
The gluing can be carried out by extending over the entire surfaces lying on the one hand from the frame and from the cover plate on the other. But this is generally not necessary.
To produce such a door leaf, the procedure is expediently such that the frame webs are first put together to form the frame, so that the cover plates are then glued on.
Weitere Merkmale der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der übrigen Unteransprüche.Further features of the invention are the subject of the remaining subclaims.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.

According to Figure 1, 1 designates a six-wing folding door, the left wing part of the
At the top there is only a
The frame webs define two
The
The gluing for the cover plates can extend over the entire contact surfaces of the contact surfaces 34, 35. The contact surfaces of the frame are formed by the relevant side surfaces of the frame webs 30-33 and the
The procedure for manufacturing the door leaf is as follows:
