Abstract

For separate waste utilization of the plastic and cardboard parts of a used packing container (1), the cardboard sleeve (5) reinforcing its circumferential wall (2) and only positively connected thereto has a desired separation strip (10), whose operation leads to the separation thereof. The desired separation strip (10) is formed on the overlap area of the cardboard sleeve (5). It only has one weakening line (16) bounding it on one side and concealed by the overlap. On tearing, the inner overlap edge (13) acts as a cutting edge for the outer overlap layer.

Description

The invention relates to a packaging container made of plastic, with a cardboard sleeve which reinforces its peripheral wall and is formed from a cardboard blank with an overlap seam, the cardboard sleeve being positively and tightly held on the plastic container part.

A packaging container of the type mentioned is known from US-A-4,550,854. In this known packaging container, the cardboard sleeve, without the use of additional adhesives, is so firmly attached to the peripheral wall solely by form-fitting inclusion that it cannot be removed without destroying the container.

  • Fig.1 eine perspektivische Darstellung des Verpackungsbehälters,
The invention has for its object to be able to separate the material of such containers after their use, the waste recycling. This object is achieved according to the invention by means of a predetermined separating strip which runs from the edge of the container towards the bottom of the container and is provided with a grip tab, so that the cardboard sleeve can be separated from the plastic container part. Advantageous embodiments of such a packaging container are the subject of the dependent claims and the following description of a preferred embodiment can be found with reference to the drawings. It shows:
  • 1 is a perspective view of the packaging container,
  • 2 shows a representation corresponding to FIG. 1 after partial separation of the desired separating strip and
  • 3 shows the expanded cardboard blank for the manufacture of the cardboard sleeve.

The general shape of the packaging container 1 according to the illustrated embodiment is known per se. The e.g. for dairy products such as yogurt or the like. suitable packaging container 1 has a conical circumferential wall 2, with a circumferential shoulder 3 serving as a support shoulder when stacking and with an outwardly projecting edge flange 4 for fastening a closure membrane, not shown.

To save plastic material, the circumferential wall 2 is reinforced by a cardboard sleeve 5, which has, for example, an outer and inner layer of paper that enables printing, which enclose a layer of inferior cardboard material, so-called Schrenz, between them. The upper edge 6 of the cardboard sleeve 5 lies against the underside of the flange edge 4, while its lower edge 7 is closely bordered by a lower shoulder 8, the width of which corresponds to the thickness of the cardboard material. Due to the close bond between the cardboard sleeve 5 and the plastic material of the peripheral wall, as it results from the molding in a deep-drawing mold, the container wall is significantly reinforced.

In order to be able to separate the cardboard sleeve 5 from the plastic part of the packaging container for the waste recycling of the packaging container 1 and thus to be able to easily assign it to the paper waste, a predetermined separating strip 10 with a grip tab 18 is provided on the peripheral wall 2, through which the cardboard sleeve 5 completely sever and can be easily removed because there is no gluing between the plastic container and the cardboard sleeve.

The predetermined separating strip 10 is in two layers over the major part of its length by being formed there by the overlapping of the inner and outer overlap area 10 ', 10 ′ of the cardboard sleeve 5, on which the ends of the cardboard cut according to Figure 3 after its annular bending to a frustoconical sleeve are connected by gluing. The outer layer 11 of the predetermined separating strip 10 is delimited on the one hand by an invisible predetermined separating line which lies over the inner overlap edge 13 and on the other hand by the outer overlap edge 14 16 limited. The perforation line 16 consists of angular incisions arranged in rows. In order to weaken the cardboard jacket 5 on the perforation line 16 against forces acting radially on the packaging container, the outer overlap region 10 'covers it, so that its overlap edge 14 is at a sufficient distance from the perforation line 16 for this purpose.

The grip tab 18 of the predetermined separating strip 10 is formed by an uncovered continuation of the inner layer 15 and, as a lateral boundary, has on the one hand a continuation 20 of the inner overlap edge 13 and, on the other hand, an incision 21 parallel thereto, which, according to FIG. 1, is in the same line as the outer overlap edge 14 runs. In order to be able to easily lift and grasp the grip flap 18 which is normally in contact with the peripheral wall 2, it ends at a distance below the flange edge through a gap 22 provided in the cardboard jacket 5. This gap can be wider than the desired separating strip 10 or can be widened outwards via roundings 23, so that the grip tab 18 at this gap 22 is clearly suitable for use.

In order to separate the cardboard sleeve 5 from the packaging container 1, which is otherwise made of plastic, the grip tab 18 is pulled radially outward, so that the predetermined separating strip 10 is separated from the cardboard casing 5 along the perforation line 16 and the inner overlap edge 13. This inner overlap edge 13 acts like a knife on the overlying cardboard layer, so that there is no line of weakness to be provided on it. It has been shown that if the predetermined separating strip 10 is delimited by two perforation lines 16, it breaks slightly transversely would if a preferably inferior cardboard material is used for the manufacture of the cardboard sleeve 5.

In order to facilitate tearing along the non-weakened and thus invisible target separating line by means of the inner overlap edge 13 that continues in the grip tabs 18, a short starting incision 25 is provided in the cardboard sleeve 5 at the point in question, which is a continuation of the boundary edge of the gap mentioned 22 can be arranged.
