Definitions

  • the invention relates to a torsion bar arrangement for motor vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the surface damage caused by the caulking of the torsion bar and the associated notch effect can lead to life-time problems when vibrating.
  • welding rings especially when using spring steels for torsion bars, there can be adverse metallurgical effects.
  • it is necessary to apply the washer to the undeformed torsion bar because the small tolerances between the bore diameter of the washer and the outer diameter of the torsion bar prevent the washer from being subsequently pushed onto the torsion bar, especially if the washer must be pushed over the curved part of the torsion bar.
  • panes must be caulked after the tempering.
  • FR-A-2 600 735 shows the mounting of a stabilizer, the back of the stabilizer being received by a bearing with an inserted elastic material.
  • the stabilizer is provided with a circular groove in the area of the back support.
  • the elastically held material clings to the groove shape D by pressure applied by the special bearing construction, so that there is an inhibiting effect and the stabilizer is secured against movement in the axial direction.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a torsion bar arrangement of the type mentioned, in which an impairment of the surface and the cross-section of the torsion bar or a reduction in the torsional resistance turns out to be substantially smaller than previously, the abutment on the finished torsion bar, i.e. H. can be attached after painting.
  • the abutment So that the abutment can also be easily pushed over the curved part of the torsion bar, the abutment has at least one radially extending slot and on the inner circumference provided with a notch so that the abutment can be opened and pushed radially onto the torsion bar.
  • the form-locking element can be designed as a deformable clamp (for example as an ear clamp), the clamp being infinitely adjustable.
  • the bearing is provided with a cylindrical recess which can be pushed over the outer circumference of the split abutment in order to secure the abutment on the torsion bar.
  • FIG. 1 denotes a torsion bar for a motor vehicle which is only partially shown and which is equipped at the end with angled legs 3 which are only partially indicated in the drawing.
  • a bearing 4 which consists of an elastic part 5, in the bore 6 of which a sleeve 7 is drawn.
  • the sleeve 7 can be made of plastic, for example, in order to guarantee a rotational movement of the torsion bar in the bearing 4 and to avoid damage to the surface of the shot-blasted and painted torsion bar due to friction.
  • abutment 10 next to the respective bearing 4, which is designed as a cylindrical ring made of elastic material and has a bore 11 which is the same or slightly smaller than that Diameter of the torsion bar 2.
  • the abutment 10 can be equipped with a radially extending slot 16 and have a notch 17 at any point on the inner circumference of the bore 6, so that the abutment 10 folds out so far for assembly lets that the abutment can be pushed radially onto the torsion bar 2.
  • the abutment 10 can be adjusted as far bend outside that it can be easily pushed over the legs 3 and the adjoining curvatures 8 of the torsion bar 2 until it has assumed the position shown in Figure 1.
  • the abutment 10 After the abutment 10 is pushed onto the torsion bar 2, it can be compressed until a clamp 20 can be pushed onto the cylindrical part 22 of the abutment 10. After the clamp 20 has been pushed onto the cylindrical part 22 until it comes to bear against the collar 24, the outer clamp part 25 of the clamp 20 is pressed together until the inner surface of the bore 11 bears firmly against the outer surface of the torsion bar 2 . Due to the positive and non-positive connection via the clamp 20, a faultless, inexpensive fastening of the bearing 10 to the torsion bar 2 is obtained.
  • the clamp 20 can also be opened as shown in FIG.
  • the clamp 20 can have two end parts 34, 35 which can be pushed one above the other and which can be pushed together continuously for fastening.
  • the end parts 34, 35 of the clamp 20 can be equipped with latching elements 36 which can be locked together and which, after the clamp 20 has been pressed together, prevent the end parts 34, 35 from sliding apart.
  • the bearing 4 is provided on the end face with a cutout 26 which is pushed onto the outer circumference of the abutment 10 in order to radially secure the abutment 10 until the end face of the bearing 4 bears against a collar 27 of the abutment 10.
  • the abutment 10 must be rotatable in the bearing 4 so that the torsion bar 2 is able to perform torsional vibrations in the bearing 4.
  • the bearing 4 has circumferential locking elements 31 on the circumference of the recess 26, which correspond to corresponding counterparts 30 arranged on the outer circumference of the abutment 10.
  • the latching elements 31 and the counterparts 30 can be designed as an annular depression and as an annular bead, which are in engagement with one another. In this way, an axial connection between the bearing 4 and the abutment 10 is created.
