A furniture hinge with a pivotal hinge part (1) adapted to be secured to a door (3) or flap and connected by two links (7 and 8) with a hinge arm (11), which is able to be connected with a part, to be driven into a support wall, consisting of a base plate (13), is able to run on the latter at least in the depth direction of a piece of furniture, and is able to be locked on the latter at different depths of insertion by a gripping screw (12), an abutment being provided for limiting the insertion movement in the depth direction of the furniture, a set screw (16) being screwed into the hinge arm (11) for pivoting the same for lateral adjustment of the door (3) or of the flap, said set screw (167) being supported on the base plate (13), the abutment consisting of a sloping or curved edge or surface (21) on the hinge arm (11) or on the base plate, on which the other part (the base plate or the hinge arm) bears by way of a mating abutment (22), characterized in that the slope of the edge or of the surface (21) is so selected that on pivoting the hinge arm (11) it compensates the amount of the modification of the joint gap, caused by such pivoting, with the result that after lateral adjustment with the mating abutment (22) borne on the edge or the surface (21), the gap (a) or the joint between the end surface of the support wall (14) or, respectively, of the body of the piece of furniture and the inner side of the door (3) remains substantially constant.
  2. The furniture hinge as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the limbs (20) of the hinge arm (11), which is U-shaped in cross section, are provided, adjacent to the end adjacent to the joint, with the oblique edges (21) in steps, which edges bear against the front end edge (22) of the base plate (13).

  5. The furniture hinge as claimed in any one of the claims 1 through 4, characterized in that the set screw (16) is furnished with a head limiting the depth of screwing it in, which head limits the pivot angle of the hinge arm (11) in accordance with the length of the sloping or curved edge or surface (21).
