Abstract

The shower partition comprises interconnected segments and is fixed collapsed against the wall from where it can be swivelled out. The partition comprises one or two structural units (11) which in the unfolded state form a closed shower cubicle with the wall on which they are fixed. In the case of two structural units (11) each comprises two or more segments (12). The units are fixed side by side on the wall (9) and in the unfolded state their free longitudinal sides (14) remote from the wall fixing abut each other to form the closed cubicle.

Description

The invention relates to a bathtub with a flat footprint on the floor and with the side walls extending in the longitudinal direction of the bathtub, which are optionally provided, including the upper edge in the area of the footprint, with bulges reaching to the bottom, so that the footprint is enlarged laterally and a Bath and shower facility with such a bathtub.

Bathtubs and bath and shower facilities of the type mentioned have been known for a long time. DE - A - 63 512 from 1891 discloses a normal bathtub, that is to say without enlarging the base from the side or in the middle. Furthermore, a bathtub is known from US Pat. No. 2,079,770 from 1936, in which a laterally enlarged standing area is provided on the floor. In 1946, in other words with knowledge of both solutions, FR - A - 923.768 again proposed a solution of a bathtub comparable to DE - A - 63 512. In 1970 and 1978, DE-A-1 949 739 and DE-U-78 38 258 followed, in which the asymmetrical, that is to say lateral, arrangement of an enlarged footprint on the floor was again chosen, based on the prior art. DE - A - 35 09 732, from which the invention is based, concludes this development, in which the asymmetrical arrangement of the enlarged footprint has been proposed again. It can be seen that the asymmetrical arrangement of the enlarged footprint known from 1936 has been repeated several times since 1970, although normal bathtubs, i.e. without a lateral enlargement of the floor, have been known since 1891.

The bath tub known from DE-A-35 09 732 has various disadvantages. On the one hand, the freedom of movement of the user is restricted by the end arrangement of the base. In addition, the end arrangement of the base also gives rise to safety-related problems, since if a user slips, he cannot avoid the end in order to find a hold. Furthermore, boarding in the area of the end surface arranged at the end leaves something to be desired. In addition, the user can only have one at the end opposite the base Take a comfortable supine position. Finally, the design of the well-known bathtub leaves a lot to be desired.

The invention is based, to improve the known bathtub in the shower, handling and safety view the task.

The task outlined above is with a bathtub
the features of the preamble of claim 1 solved in that the footprint is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the bath approximately in the middle of the floor and that the two end regions of the bath are of approximately the same design. All of the aforementioned disadvantages are avoided by the invention. In particular, the freedom of movement of the user is considerably greater than in known bathtubs due to the central arrangement of the base. Since the two end regions of the bathtub are of approximately the same design, a comfortable supine position in the bathtub is possible at both ends. The design of the bath and shower device corresponds to the design of the bathtub, so that a comfortable shower with great freedom of movement is also possible here.

Such a bath and shower device initially has a bathtub 1 and an associated shower partition 4 attached to a wall 2 above the upper edge 3 of the bathtub 1. While the bathtub 1 has a flat base 6 on the floor 5, the shower partition 4 consists of a plurality of articulated segments 12, 13 which are pivotally attached to the wall 2 and an open shower position forming a shower cubicle, shown in FIG. 3 in solid lines, in a folded position on the wall 2, releasing the bath tub 1, shown in FIG. 3 in dash-dotted lines, and vice versa.

With regard to the bathtub 1, which is shown in a top view in FIG. 1, the first thing that applies is that the standing surface 6, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the bathtub 1, is arranged approximately in the middle of the floor 5. The bathtub 1 is designed in the same way in both end regions for a comfortable supine position of a user, that is to say overall it is designed to be centrally symmetrical. A drain 8 is located in the middle of the stand area 6. For the purpose of improving freedom of movement for a user, the side walls 9 running in the longitudinal direction of the bath tub 1, including the upper edge 3 in the area of the stand area 6, may extend to the floor 5 Bulges 10 are provided, so that the base 6 is laterally enlarged accordingly. In addition, the side walls 9 in the area of the base 6, in particular in the bulges 10, rise steeply from the floor, preferably at an angle of at least 80 °.

The previously explained design of the bathtub 1, which can be seen particularly well in FIG. 1, creates a sufficiently large shower space for a user in the middle of the bathtub 1, where the floor 5 of the bathtub 1 is also located is largely flat and merges more or less angularly into the side walls 9. The risk of accidents is therefore systematically minimized in this area.

In order to be able to take a pleasant bathing position in the bathtub 1, the rest of the fact that the bottom 5 of the bathtub 1 rises from the centrally arranged standing surface 6 towards both ends of the bathtub 1 in gently merging steps. This is indicated in Fig. 1, but also in Fig. 3, with the arcuate lines shown.

Dies ist in Fig. 3 für die Duschstellung in durchgezogenen Linien dargestellt.2 and 3 now show further details with regard to the configuration of the shower partition 4 in a first preferred exemplary embodiment. In a corresponding adaptation to the bathtub 1 shown in FIG. 1, the first rule is that in the exemplary embodiment shown here the shower partition 4 is arranged approximately in the middle of the bathtub 1. The general rule here is that the shower partition 4 comprises a structural unit 11 or two structural units 11 which, in the shower position, form or form a shower cubicle which is closed on all sides, with the wall 2 to which it is attached. This is shown in Fig. 3 for the shower position in solid lines.

The preferred embodiment of a shower partition 4 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is initially characterized in that the shower partition 4 consists of two separate units 11, each consisting of at least two segments 12, 13, that an inner segment 12 each Unit 11 is attached to the wall 2 and that the other, outer (or outermost) segments 13 of the two components 11 can be placed against one another with their free longitudinal edges 14 in a sealing manner. As is known per se, the free longitudinal edges 14 of the segments 13 can be provided with elastic sealing sealing strips for sealing purposes. Otherwise, as is known per se, magnetic closure strips or the like can be attached to the longitudinal edges 14 for fixing the position in the shower position be. 2 and 3 also show conventional handle elements 15 on the outside and inside.

In order to prevent the inner segments 12 from inadvertently folding in, it is recommended that the position of the inner segments 12 in the shower position is defined by a stop or the like, that is to say the two inner segments 12 only from the shower position in the direction of the rest position, but not are foldable in the opposite direction.

The exemplary embodiment of a shower partition 4 shown on a bathtub 1 in FIGS. 2 and 3 is shown in a special embodiment and not on a bathtub 1, and is also shown again in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6. Here, the inner segments 12 of the structural units 11 of the shower partition 4, like the outer segments 13, are designed in the shape of a circular arc.

It is essential for the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3 as well as for the embodiment according to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 that the two inner segments 12 from the shower position to the rest position to the outside and the two outer segments 13 from the shower position in fold the rest position inwards and that, preferably, the outer segments 13 are blocked in the shower position against a further folding movement to the outside. This folding direction of the outer segments 13 has the advantage that, in principle, the outer segments 13 do not grant access to the shower cubicle thus formed, so that a user who tumbles inside the shower cubicle has a hold on the outer segments 13 which do not escape to the outside Can be found.

Preventing a folding movement outwards in the shower position can be achieved by certain catches, fixations or the like. The embodiment shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 is characterized in this respect, however, by a special measure, namely in that locking elements 16 which are in engagement with one another in the shower position are attached to the longitudinal edges 14 of the outer segments 13 which come into contact with one another in that the locking elements 16 in the shower position cannot be brought out of engagement with one another by an outwardly directed force acting on the outer segments 13, but only by an inward folding movement of the outer segments 13. The design of the locking elements 16 can basically be within the skill of an average specialist. However, a person of average skill in the art will normally resort to active locking by locking elements 16, which requires special handling by a user. But that is not optimal, it would be better to have an automatic lock, which is not an obstacle even in emergency situations, i.e. if the shower partition 4 needs to be opened quickly from the outside.
5 shows a special teaching, namely the measure that the locking elements 16 are designed as locking pins 17 and locking openings 18 which are bent against the folding direction. Due to the previously explained movement of the outer segments 13 when the shower partition 4 is opened, the locking elements 16 designed in this way come out of engagement with one another when the shower partition 4 is opened normally. In contrast, the locking elements 16 wedge together strongly when an outward force is exerted on the outer segments 13 of the shower partition 4.

The locking elements 16 of the exemplary embodiment explained here could easily be designed in such a way that they are designed as strip-like elements which run from top to bottom. Although this would lead to an additional seal in the closing area of the shower partition 4, it would hardly be cost-effective. For this reason, it is realized in the exemplary embodiment shown that the locking elements 16 are formed on separate locking supports 19 attached to the segments 13.
The bolt supports 19 which can be seen in FIG. 6 are particularly designed to the extent that they are designed asymmetrically with bolt pins 17 and bolt openings 18 which are complementary to one another. This means that only a single bolt carrier 19 needs to be produced, which only has to be attached to the two segments 13 in positions offset by 180 ° in order to be able to implement the desired bolt function.

The separate latch supports 19 explained above offer the possibility of simultaneously realizing the inner handle elements 15.

For locking the free longitudinal edge 14 of the outer segment 13 of the shower partition 4 on the wall 2, it can be recommended there to provide a wall strip 21, the course of which corresponds to the course of the longitudinal edge 14 of the segment 13. Appropriate sealing strips and magnetic strips, as already explained, can be arranged here.

It is generally true that an at least slight fixation of the segments 12, 13 of the shower partition 4 in certain desired positions is recommended. For this purpose, fixing elements, which are not shown here, can be provided at the connection points. It can be locking elements, spring-loaded levers or the like. However, these techniques are known from the prior art.

In general, as is known per se, it is expedient to arrange sealing elements made of rubber or plastic between the shower partition 4 and the edge of the bathtub 1, which can then be held on the segments 12, 13. Appropriate sealing elements are also recommended for the transition areas from segment to segment. Such sealing elements can be apron-shaped and, for example, protrude inwards and form drip edges there, so that dripping water certainly flows into the bathtub 1.
