Abstract

In a sleeve-shaped winding core for thin, web-shaped winding material, in order to simplify the fixing of one end of the winding material to the winding core, an adhesive layer (12) of a permanent adhesive is first applied to the winding core, which is formed from numerous paper or cardboard webs. A strip-shaped top web (13) of, for example, paper or cardboard is then wound helically onto this adhesive layer (12), the longitudinal edges (14) of this top web (13) being kept at a specific distance apart. As a result, a helical strip (15) of adhesive layer remains free on the outside, is arranged in a recessed manner relative to the top web (13), and serves to fix the end of the winding material to the winding core (9).

Description

The invention relates to a sleeve-shaped winding core for thin web-shaped winding material, e.g. Paper, metal foils, plastic foils, textiles or the like, consisting of numerous interconnected paper or cardboard webs and an adhesive layer extending over its outer peripheral surface for fixing the one end of the winding material to the winding core.

It is known to apply a double-sided adhesive tape to the core surface parallel to the core axis for fixing the one end of the winding material to the core, the outside of which is initially covered by a protective strip. When processing the sleeve-shaped winding cores, this protective strip must first be removed by hand, which means an additional step. In addition, the winding cores cannot be processed in fully automatic systems in which the sleeve-shaped winding cores are continuously changed.

It is also known for the above purposes to apply an adhesive layer to the surface of the sleeve-shaped winding core by means of a brush or by spraying, without using a cover strip. However, this method can only be carried out directly by the user of the winding cores and the winding cores must also be processed immediately.

Finally, it is also known (siche DE-A-3317370) to apply a so-called hot glue web to the surface of the sleeve-shaped winding core in order to fasten one end of the winding material to the winding core. This method is also cumbersome, because the adhesive must then be reactivated by the user before using the winding core by means of a heating device.

The invention has for its object to avoid the above shortcomings in the prior art and to form and arrange the adhesive layer for attaching one end of the winding material to the winding core so that the sleeve-shaped winding cores can be produced and also processed in fully automatic systems, ie Activation of the adhesive layer should not require any additional work steps.

According to the invention, the above object is achieved in that an adhesive layer strip formed from a permanent adhesive is laterally wound through a cover sheet of e.g. Paper or cardboard is limited, the distance between the longitudinal edges of the cover sheet determining the width of the helical adhesive layer strip. A sleeve-shaped winding core with these features can advantageously be manufactured and also processed in fully automatic systems. Since the helically extending adhesive layer strip does not run flush with the outer circumferential surface of the cover sheet, but rather sits somewhat lower than this, sticking together of the sleeve-shaped winding cores is advantageously avoided when shipping. When using these winding cores, you do not need to remove an additional protective strip, as before, but the end of the winding material can be attached to the winding core immediately. During the processing operation, the material to be wound automatically adheres to the adhesive layer strip consisting of a permanent adhesive, because the helical arrangement of the adhesive layer strip means that there is no need to search for a "beginning" of the adhesive layer. Since the distance between the longitudinal edges of the cover sheet can be varied, the width of the helical adhesive layer strip and thus the required holding force of the adhesive layer can also be influenced accordingly.

Nach einer Ausgestaltung der Erfindung besteht der Dauerkleber aus einem LatexkleberAccording to one embodiment of the invention, the permanent adhesive consists of a latex adhesive

According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the cover sheet is preferably around 0.1 mm.

The invention is subsequently explained on the basis of the drawing of an exemplary embodiment. The drawing shows a longitudinal section through part of a sleeve-shaped winding core according to the invention, the individual layers being drawn excessively thick for better illustration.

The main body 10 of the sleeve-shaped winding core 9 consists of helically wound paper or cardboard webs, which are provided in a plurality of layers bonded together. On the outermost layer 11 of this main body 10 there is an adhesive layer 12 made of a so-called permanent adhesive, e.g. applied a latex glue. On this adhesive layer 12 is a strip-shaped cover sheet 13 made of e.g. Paper or cardboard is wound helically so that its longitudinal edges 14 are spaced apart. The cover sheet 13 therefore leaves an adhesive layer strip 15 exposed to the outside from the permanent adhesive, ie the longitudinal edges 14 of the cover sheet 13 laterally delimit this adhesive layer strip 15. The distance between the longitudinal edges 14 of the cover sheet 13 thus determines the width of the adhesive layer strip 15, to which the end of a thin web-shaped winding material 16 is fastened.

Die Dicke der Deckbahn 13 beträgt vorzugsweise um ca. 0,1 mm.The cover sheet 13 can be made of paper or cardboard. The thickness of the cover sheet 13 is preferably around 0.1 mm.
