Definitions
- the invention relates to a packaging box consisting in particular of corrugated cardboard, which has been produced from a preferably one-piece blank.
- Such boxes are known and are used on a large scale.
- plastic chips in particular foam polystyrene chips.
- entire packaging blocks from plastics, in particular foam polystyrene, into which cavities are formed, which are precisely adapted to the objects to be packaged and which serve to hold these objects.
- the known types of packaging are complex in several ways.
- foam plastics for example foam polystyrene
- relatively large amounts of valuable raw materials have to be used and consumed for these actually subordinate purposes.
- the known packaging is expensive because the volumes of packaging material to be kept in stock are large. Disposal also poses great problems and pollutes the environment.
- the innovation is based on the task of proposing a packaging box that can be set up and filled with a minimum of work steps and in which the storage space required for storing the unfilled boxes is also small.
- a preferably one-piece blank for the packaging box for example made of corrugated cardboard, cardboard or the like. can exist, is assumed and that on the inside of the blank a multi-layer self-contained inflatable cushion made of plastic film is attached. If a blank of this type is to be erected into the box, only a few steps are required, which can also be automated if necessary. After erection, the finished packaging container is immediately available and can be filled with goods. After filling, all you have to do is inflate the cushion and the entire filling process is complete.
- the proposed packaging container takes up little storage space in the flat state, it is quick to erect and fill and can be removed as a whole after use by burning.
- the cushion consists of several chambers which are in air-permeable connection with one another. At least one of these chambers is equipped with a closable air inlet socket.
- the filling gas usually compressed air, is introduced at this point and is then distributed evenly in all interrelated upholstery chambers.
- the cushion consists of three layers of film which are connected to one another at their edges in an accordion-like manner. This arrangement creates a large-volume cushion, which can easily be placed in smaller spaces between the packaging items.
- the accordion-like attachment of the foils to one another also means that the cushion is sufficiently inflatable in the edge areas, ie in the immediate vicinity of the box walls.
- the lower chamber system can be equipped with its own inflation nozzle.
- This nozzle is after the introduction of gas or air e.g. sealed by folding and gluing it onto its cardboard or corrugated cardboard base.
- the further chamber arranged above, possibly also several, are equipped with a further inflation nozzle. In this way, at least two air cushion cushions are arranged one above the other, which lead to a safe and soft cushioning of the packed objects.
- the air blown in is distributed in the respective upper pillows as shown in FIG. 2. After the filling process has ended, the air passage openings close automatically with the aid of the film flaps 20.
- the base areas of the chambers preferably each correspond to the area of their corrugated cardboard base and they can be connected to one another to form the shape of the base packing objects to be adapted.
- This connection of the foils to one another can be produced by spot or line welding of the top foil with the middle foil, so that ultimately the top pad has a similar appearance to the known furniture pad in the area of its stitching buttons. Since the arrangement of these connections can be punctiform or linear in any way, this opens up the possibility of also individually adapting inflatable film cushions to the shapes of the objects to be packaged.
- the overall arrangement of the film chambers in the plastic tube is preferably made such that the weld seams which delimit the chambers of the film cushion lie in the region of the kinks of the blank.
- the weld seams do not take up the entire length of the kinks of the blank, but they leave passages free for the inflation air.
- This arrangement is advantageous for the reasons already mentioned, since only compressed air then has to be blown into the entire cushion at a single point, which can be distributed over the aforementioned passage points in the entire cushion.
- foil flaps are arranged in the area of the passage points, which seal the passage points under the effect of the weight of the packaged parts.
- a foil cushion, which is equipped with such inner foil flaps can be easily inflated; the flaps, however, ensure that the air which has been introduced cannot escape again in the manner of check valves.
- the blank shown in Fig. 1 consists of a corrugated cardboard 1, which is divided by creases 2,2 ', 2 ⁇ in a total of four fields 3,4,5 and 6.
- the fields are each equipped in a manner known per se with side tabs 7, which are foldably connected to the fields via grooves and which are separated from one another by incisions 8.
- Such a blank can easily be assembled in the manner indicated in FIG. 1 to form a box, in which case the edge 9 of the field shown on the left in the drawing abuts the edge 10 of the right field and can be fixed by means of the strip 11 formed there by gluing can.
- a multi-layer inflatable, self-contained cushion 12 made of plastic film is attached to the inside of the blank (corrugated cardboard web 1).
- the attachment can be done by welding or gluing or in any other way.
- Fig. 1 shows that the cushion 12 consists of several chambers 13, 14, 15 and 16, the base area of which corresponds essentially to the base area of the fields 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the case shown.
- Fig. 1 also shows that additional fields 17, 18, 21 and 22 are formed on the fields 14 and 16, which protrude approximately at right angles from the surface of the blank in the illustrated embodiment.
- At least one of the chambers, chamber 17 in the exemplary embodiment shown, has a closable air inlet connection 19, via which the entire cushion can be inflated.
- These additional side chambers should be slightly longer than the associated corrugated cardboard fields so that they overlap when the box is folded.
- the cushion 12 consists of several, preferably three, layers of film which are connected to one another at their edges in an accordion-like manner.
- the weld seams which delimit the chambers 13-18 of the film cushion are preferably arranged in the region of the kinks of the blank, that is to say in the region of the creases between the individual fields.
- foil flaps 20 can be arranged which close the passages under the effect of the weight of the packaged parts after filling with compressed air.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a packaging box consisting in particular of corrugated cardboard, which has been produced from a preferably one-piece blank.
Such boxes are known and are used on a large scale. In order to fix the different packaging goods therein and to protect them against damage during transport, it is known to fill the remaining free spaces which are not filled by the goods with sawdust, plastic chips, in particular foam polystyrene chips. Furthermore, it is known to produce entire packaging blocks from plastics, in particular foam polystyrene, into which cavities are formed, which are precisely adapted to the objects to be packaged and which serve to hold these objects.
The known types of packaging are complex in several ways. In particular, if foam plastics, for example foam polystyrene, are used to fill the remaining cavities, relatively large amounts of valuable raw materials have to be used and consumed for these actually subordinate purposes. But also from the point of view of warehousing, the known packaging is expensive because the volumes of packaging material to be kept in stock are large. Disposal also poses great problems and pollutes the environment.
In order to remedy this problem, it has already been proposed to use an inflatable film bag made of a plastic film, for example polyethylene, before packaging in the separately produced packaging box. After inserting the bag and the ones to be packed Objects are inflated into the bag and thereby largely fill the remaining voids between the objects to be packaged. This type of packaging is undoubtedly a step forward, particularly in terms of saving valuable raw materials. Nevertheless, this solution also remains a considerable disadvantage, which consists in particular in the separate storage of the packaging boxes on the one hand and the foil bags on the other. The work involved in filling the box is also considerable, since the box, which is usually supplied flat, is first used to erect the box and the film bags must be inserted into it.
The innovation is based on the task of proposing a packaging box that can be set up and filled with a minimum of work steps and in which the storage space required for storing the unfilled boxes is also small. To solve this problem it is proposed that a preferably one-piece blank for the packaging box, for example made of corrugated cardboard, cardboard or the like. can exist, is assumed and that on the inside of the blank a multi-layer self-contained inflatable cushion made of plastic film is attached. If a blank of this type is to be erected into the box, only a few steps are required, which can also be automated if necessary. After erection, the finished packaging container is immediately available and can be filled with goods. After filling, all you have to do is inflate the cushion and the entire filling process is complete. The proposed packaging container takes up little storage space in the flat state, it is quick to erect and fill and can be removed as a whole after use by burning.
To produce a preferred embodiment, it is proposed that the cushion consists of several chambers which are in air-permeable connection with one another. At least one of these chambers is equipped with a closable air inlet socket. For filling, the filling gas, usually compressed air, is introduced at this point and is then distributed evenly in all interrelated upholstery chambers.
To increase safety, it is proposed that the cushion consists of three layers of film which are connected to one another at their edges in an accordion-like manner. This arrangement creates a large-volume cushion, which can easily be placed in smaller spaces between the packaging items. The accordion-like attachment of the foils to one another also means that the cushion is sufficiently inflatable in the edge areas, ie in the immediate vicinity of the box walls.
If there are several chambers one above the other, the lower chamber system can be equipped with its own inflation nozzle. This nozzle is after the introduction of gas or air e.g. sealed by folding and gluing it onto its cardboard or corrugated cardboard base. The further chamber arranged above, possibly also several, are equipped with a further inflation nozzle. In this way, at least two air cushion cushions are arranged one above the other, which lead to a safe and soft cushioning of the packed objects.
After the filling process has ended, the air passage openings close automatically with the aid of the
The base areas of the chambers preferably each correspond to the area of their corrugated cardboard base and they can be connected to one another to form the shape of the base packing objects to be adapted. This connection of the foils to one another can be produced by spot or line welding of the top foil with the middle foil, so that ultimately the top pad has a similar appearance to the known furniture pad in the area of its stitching buttons. Since the arrangement of these connections can be punctiform or linear in any way, this opens up the possibility of also individually adapting inflatable film cushions to the shapes of the objects to be packaged.
The overall arrangement of the film chambers in the plastic tube is preferably made such that the weld seams which delimit the chambers of the film cushion lie in the region of the kinks of the blank. The weld seams, however, do not take up the entire length of the kinks of the blank, but they leave passages free for the inflation air. This arrangement is advantageous for the reasons already mentioned, since only compressed air then has to be blown into the entire cushion at a single point, which can be distributed over the aforementioned passage points in the entire cushion. Furthermore, it is proposed that foil flaps are arranged in the area of the passage points, which seal the passage points under the effect of the weight of the packaged parts. A foil cushion, which is equipped with such inner foil flaps, can be easily inflated; the flaps, however, ensure that the air which has been introduced cannot escape again in the manner of check valves.
- Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Ansicht eines flachgelegten und teilweise wieder aufgerichteten Zuschnittes mit eingeklebter oder eingeschweißter Polsterfolie;
- Fig. 2 eine Draufsicht auf eine Ausführungsform eines flachgelegten Zuschnittes;
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a flat and partially erected blank with glued or welded cushion foil.
- 2 shows a plan view of an embodiment of a flat blank;
- Fig. 3 shows a detail from the area of the film flaps.
The blank shown in Fig. 1 consists of a corrugated cardboard 1, which is divided by
According to the innovation, a multi-layer inflatable, self-contained
At least one of the chambers,
It is further proposed that the
