Definitions

  • the invention relates to a manually operated circuit breaker with terminals and a visible isolating section which can be produced by means of a disconnect block which can only be removed when the circuit breaker is open.
  • the entire overcurrent trip block is inserted as a plug-in module into the mating plug connections on the base of the manually operated circuit breaker and locked with the rotary knob of the circuit breaker in such a way that the overcurrent trip block is only opened when the circuit breaker is open, in order to generate the visible isolating distance is extractable.
  • the known circuit breaker requires a special construction. Since the visible isolating paths are not necessary or desired in every case, the construction of the known circuit breaker means a relatively high outlay.
  • the invention is intended to provide a circuit breaker which makes it possible, if necessary, to provide a visible isolating path without significantly changing the conventional circuit breaker.
  • This is achieved in a simple manner in that the isolating section is provided in an isolating module which can be attached to the connecting terminals and which has the removable isolating block, and in that the connecting terminals for the isolating module can only be actuated when the circuit breaker is open.
  • the separating block contains the resilient element of the contact system.
  • the mating plug connections in the disconnector module can be simply bent busbars here.
  • the manual control element for the circuit breaker, the isolator block and the connection screws for the isolator module are dependent on the action by a bolt
  • the manual actuation is a rocker arm and the bolt is a displaceable locking bolt which has recesses for releasing the connecting screws.
  • the bolt can be locked and / or sealed.
  • an adapted grounding block can be inserted to short-circuit the load side and connect an earth line.
  • the isolating and the grounding block have coding grooves and the housing of the isolating module has ribs.
  • a message is provided by an additional auxiliary switch when the isolating or earthing block is removed.
  • the cuboidal circuit breaker 1 shown in the drawing in which the short-circuit and bimetallic release (not shown in detail) and the corresponding switch lock is contained, has a rocker arm 2 with which the circuit breaker can be switched on and off.
  • the circuit breaker has the usual free release, so that the rocker arm does not have to be moved when the circuit breaker is triggered.
  • the connection terminals for the derivation are designated 3 and the supply connection terminals with 4. Under the supply terminals 4, pins 5 of a disconnect module 6 can be inserted.
  • the pins 5 run into knife-shaped contact parts 7.
  • the supply line serve frame clamps 8, which also end in knife-shaped contact parts 7.
  • Opposing knife-shaped contact parts 7 can be bridged by lyra-shaped contact bridges 9.
  • the contact bridges 9 are used in a separating block 10.
  • This separating block 10 has a handle 11 for pulling out and has slot-shaped recesses 12, the coding walls 13 on the housing 14 of the separator module 6 are adapted so that the separating block 10, in particular grounding block, can only be inserted in a predetermined position and the contact bridges 9 with the knife-shaped contact parts 7 are connectable.
  • the circuit breaker is stepped in the area of the terminals 3 and 4.
  • An extension 15 on the housing 14 with corresponding openings for operating the supply connection terminals 4 projects into this area.
  • a locking bolt 16 is slidably mounted on the housing 14. On the one hand, it comes into operative connection via an extension 17 with the rocker arm 2 and with an extension 18 with the separating block 10.
  • a recess 19 is arranged in the locking bolt 16 in such a way that when the circuit breaker is switched off, i. the rocker arm 2 is in the position shown in FIGS. 7 to 10, the recess 19 lies above the supply connection terminals, so that these terminals are released and the isolator module 6 can be removed from the circuit breaker or can be attached and screwed on.
  • the locking bar 16 lies above the isolating block 10 when the circuit breaker is switched on, so that it cannot be removed.
  • the locking bolt 16 is moved by the rocker arm 2 from the position shown in FIGS. 7 to 10 into the position shown in FIGS. 3 to 6. If the locking bolt is brought into the position shown in FIGS. 7 to 8, the separating block 10 can be removed.
  • the locking bolt can also be brought into the position shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 and the circuit breaker switched on when the disconnection block is removed, the voltage cannot be passed on due to the absence of the disconnection block.
  • the locking bolt has an opening 20 into which a padlock 21 can be hung with the bracket and cooperating with corresponding projections 22 on the housing 14 prevents the locking bolt from being displaced.
  • the circuit breaker according to the invention it is possible, if necessary, to produce a visible isolating path - see FIGS. 9 and 11. It is not necessary to change the actual circuit breaker for this, but only in the above described way to connect the disconnect module 6 to the terminals 4 and remove the disconnect block 10.
  • the isolator module 6 can be sold as an additional module as standard, so that it only has to be bought if necessary.
  • an earthing block 23 instead of the isolating block 10
  • the load-side connecting pins 5 can be short-circuited via the knife-shaped contact parts 7 and connected to an earth line 24.
