- the oxygen, or the air enriched with oxygen, of the central jet 4 Before reaching the hot wind, the oxygen, or the air enriched with oxygen, of the central jet 4 must in fact first cross the peripheral jet of auxiliary fuel and consequently react with it. A high intensity flame core is thus formed which leads to a marked acceleration of combustion and which therefore makes it possible to increase the quantity of auxiliary fuel which can be injected into the blast furnace.
