- the clamping plate has blind holes with a comparatively large radius, while the veneer has comparatively small holes that guide the impinging sound into the blind holes.
- the problem with this veneered clamping plate is that it is expensive and complex to manufacture on the one hand and that the holes are easy on the other soiled and can hardly be cleaned. Since this plate is not very flexible, its use is limited accordingly.
