Definitions

  • the invention relates to a plug closure for jewelry parts, in particular jewelry chains, with a housing, one end wall of which is acted upon from the inside by a spring, the other end of which acts on a sleeve which is displaceable in the housing and which has a receiving opening pointing to the other end side of the housing, into which a front opening of the housing a connector can be inserted and locked there.
  • Such a generic plug closure is known from EP-0121953 A1, in particular the description parts belonging to FIG. 3.
  • the sleeve which is displaceably mounted in the housing has at least two elastic tongues or clamps which point towards the insertion opening and which are guided by a conical jacket-like constriction of the housing in such a way that they snap into a circumferential groove of the connecting part via projections. This locking position is ensured by the action of the spring.
  • the housing When opening this known plug closure, the housing must be held in place, the sleeve pulled back against the action of the spring, and the connecting part removed from the receiving opening of the sleeve.
  • connection ends shown suggests that corresponding eyelets or suitable components of the subsequent piece of jewelry, for example the jewelry chain, are to be hung, which are also able to transmit axial forces, as is the case here for opening the closure (displacement of the sleeve against the Housing by axial pull) is required.
  • connection and connection options for example of a jewelry chain to such a closure, for example by jamming or riveting, which should expediently not be axially loaded, since otherwise the jewelry chain can tear; the prior art plug closure is therefore not suitable for such applications.
  • the object of the invention is therefore the further development of the known plug-in closure insofar as design simplification on the one hand and handling of the closure without axial loading of the connection areas is to be achieved.
  • this object is achieved in that the central axis of the front opening of the housing is eccentric to the longitudinal axis of the receiving opening of the sleeve, and that the sleeve in the position retracted against the action of the spring (removal and insertion position) the displacement of the longitudinal axis of the connecting part between allowed the other two longitudinal axes.
  • the basic idea of the invention is therefore to provide a lateral offset of the front opening of the housing for inserting the connection part on the one hand and the receiving opening of the sleeve displaceably mounted in the housing for inserting the connection part on the other hand, so that a "change” between these two openings through the connection part is only possible in the position of the sleeve pushed back against the action of the spring, because in this pushed-back position the necessary "free space” within the housing for this transverse movement of the front end of the connecting part is made available.
  • This solution has the advantage that no movable, in particular elastic, parts of the sleeve have to be present.
  • the sleeve is not connected in one piece to the other connection end of the plug closure (as in the subject of EP-0121953), but can be displaced against the spring force by means of an actuating button which is guided in an elongated hole in the housing.
  • the force to release the closure is therefore via this button, the force to insert the connector is via the connector directly on the sleeve, so that in any case axial tensile loads on the two opposite connector parts of the plug closure are avoided, since force effects only between the housing and the sleeve occur.
  • the plug closure essentially consists of a cylindrical housing 10 and a sleeve 20 arranged axially displaceably in this housing 10, one end of which forms a likewise cylindrical receiving space 21, the longitudinal axis A-A 'of which lies coaxially with the housing 10.
  • One end (shown in the drawing above) of the housing 10 is closed with a screw cover, which is provided with a connecting pin 11 for receiving, for example for clamping, the end element of a jewelry chain.
  • the housing 10 is provided with a cover 16 which has a removal or insertion opening 15.
  • the central axis B-B 'of this opening 15 lies outside the axis A-A' of the receiving opening 21, i.e. these two axes and their associated cross sections are not congruent.
  • the inner cross section of the receiving opening 21 and also the inner cross section of the opening 15 are dimensioned such that the front end of the connecting part 30 can be inserted into both.
  • the connecting part 30 is tapered towards the rear, so that an annular shoulder 31 is formed, which cooperates with the inner surface of the cover 16 as a stop and prevents the removal of the connecting part 30 in the closed position of the plug-in closure shown in FIG. 1, since lateral deflection of the Connection part is prevented by the tight guidance of the inner walls of the receiving opening 21, so that in this locking position there is no possibility for the connection part 30 to leave the housing 10.
  • the latter To withdraw the sleeve 20 in the housing 10, the latter has an elongated hole 13 through which an actuating button 14 is guided to the outside.
  • the receiving space 21 of the sleeve 20 releases the connecting part 30 and this can then be pulled out of the opening 15 with minimal displacement B with lateral displacement.
  • the cooperating ring edges are frustoconical, so that they can serve as guide surfaces for initiating or facilitating these lateral displacement movements.
