Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a system for feeding sheet products to a machine for processing said products.
  • the system according to the invention is more particularly suitable, although not exclusively, for the continuous feeding of cardboard blanks from a machine allowing the manufacture of packaging from said blanks.
  • the system according to the invention is not limited to this type of product, but could also be used for products such as plates, panels, etc. made of different materials, other than paper, such as, for example, metal, glass, synthetic material, etc.
  • some of the systems for feeding sheet products, such as cardboard blanks, to a machine intended for making packaging or the like from said blanks include a storage magazine, arranged upstream of the machine and comprising a stack of cardboard blanks, and a transfer device authorizing the taking of the upper blank of the stack to bring it towards the table of the machine and place it thereon.
  • the object of the present invention is in particular to overcome this drawback and relates to a system for feeding sheet products to a machine for processing said products, which prevents an operator from frequently reconstituting the storage magazine of said system while allowing the machine to '' be regularly and automatically fed sheet products without interruption.
  • the system for bringing sheet products to a deposit area of a machine for processing said sheet products comprising means for storing said sheet products and a device for transferring, one by one, said sheets. products of the storage means at said machine, is remarkable, according to the invention, in that said storage means comprise at least first and second magazines, and, in that said transfer device comprises at least first and second means for gripping said products, arranged and controlled so that, when one of the gripping means grasps the product in the upper sheet of the corresponding storage magazine, simultaneously, the other gripping means deposits on said zone for depositing the machine the product in upper sheet, previously seized from the other storage store and then transferred to said machine, and vice versa.
  • the system offers greater operating autonomy allowing the machine to be supplied continuously, without an operator intervening frequently.
  • the system allows the sheet products to be brought to a high speed in the direction of said machine.
  • said transfer device may comprise two arms fixed to a shaft capable of being driven alternately in rotation by a motor member, each of said arms carrying one of said gripping means and being capable of moving between two separate positions, one of which is located above the corresponding storage magazine and the other of which is located above the machine removal area.
  • the second gripping means of the other arm deposits the upper sheet, previously gripped of the second storage magazine, on the machine removal zone, then, by rotation of the arms driven by the motor member via said shaft, the second gripping means, stripped of sheet, comes into contact with the upper sheet of the second means storage, while, simultaneously, the first gripping means deposits on the machine the sheet, previously gripped.
  • the movement of said arms takes place in a plane parallel to the plane of said sheet products, the movement of said gripping means being carried out orthogonally to these planes and parallel to the shaft driven alternately in rotation.
  • said arms fixed by one of their ends to said shaft, form between them an angle of 90 °
  • said motor member which drives in rotation through the shaft said arms, being a motor reversible electric.
  • each of said gripping means may comprise a jack whose cylinder is linked to the corresponding arm of the transfer device and whose rod is provided at its end with controllable suction cups capable of ensuring the taking up and the transfer of a product in sheet of the storage magazine corresponding to the removal zone of said machine.
  • the rotation of the arms via the drive member and the shaft takes place when the jacks are in the high position, the drive member does not operate when the jacks are in the low position.
  • each gripping means is capable of occupying two distinct positions along said corresponding arm, a first position, distant from the axis of rotation of the shaft, corresponding to a position for which said means of gripping is located above the machine removal zone, and a second position, close to the axis of rotation of said shaft, corresponding to a position for which said gripping means is located above the storage magazine corresponding.
  • This arrangement thus makes it possible to reduce the spacing between the two storage magazines, and, consequently, to reduce the space requirement of the system in the workshop.
  • the two stores can thus be arranged practically side by side.
  • each gripping means is mounted on the corresponding arm by means of a support capable of sliding, during the rotation of said shaft, along the arm between the two said positions, close and distant from the axis of rotation of said shaft, thanks to a connecting rod, one end of which is fixed to the chassis of said system and the other end of which is connected to the corresponding gripping means.
  • the two connecting rods of the chassis to the gripping means move in superimposed planes, parallel to the plane formed by said arms.
  • said system may include means for detecting and upgrading the sheet products of each storage store. These means make it possible to bring, each time a sheet has been gripped and then transferred to the depositing area of the machine, the sheet product then superior of each stack to a determined reference level, so that the suction cups equipping them each time come into contact with said product in upper sheet to grasp it, then transfer it.
  • said means for detecting and leveling each store comprises at least one photoelectric cell fixed to the chassis of said system and a control member allowing the mounting of said store, so that when the product in the upper sheet of said magazine is seized then transferred, a light beam is transmitted by said cell, which causes the actuation of said control member and the rise of said magazine until the new top sheet of the stack interrupts the transmission of the light beam, then stopping said control member.
  • replacement magazines each containing a stack of sheet products can be provided upstream of said first and second storage magazines, said storage and replacement magazines based on controllable displacement means enabling said replacement magazines to be replaced by said storage magazines, when the sheet products of the latter are used up.
  • the operating autonomy of said system is further increased, which allows the operator to intervene, for example, only daily, or even less, in the various machine stores.
  • said first and second storage magazines as well as said replacement magazines respectively, arranged upstream from the storage magazines, are aligned by forming two parallel queues, the transfer device being provided between the two queues near the drop-off area. of said machine.
  • Each row of magazines can then be arranged on controllable displacement means comprising a belt conveyor driven by a motor, and, moreover, the storage and replacement magazines can advantageously be arranged on the conveyor of each queue in a regularly spaced manner. .
  • the magazines aligned in N stacks can be driven in translation by the displacement means so that, when the stack of storage magazines is exhausted, the following N stacks advance by a step corresponding to the distance separating two successive stacks, the first of the replacement magazine batteries replacing the storage magazine battery, and so on.
  • the system according to the invention is particularly intended for feeding sheet products, such as cardboard blanks, to a machine for processing said products.
  • the system 1 comprises means 2 for storing sheet products, namely cardboard blanks 3 arranged in the form of a stack 4, and a device 5 for transferring, one by one, the blanks 3 of the storage means 2 at a deposit area 6 of a processing machine 7.
  • the storage means 2 comprise a first, 8, and a second, 9, magazines, each magazine consisting of a stack 4 of cardboard blanks 3 resting on a pallet 10, which is arranged on controllable displacement means 11. Behind each storage magazine 8 and 9 is provided at least one replacement magazine, respectively 12 and 14, identical in constitution to that of stores 8 and 9. It can be seen, in particular with regard to FIG. 2, that the storage stores 8 and 9 and the replacement stores 12 and 14, respectively arranged upstream of the stores 8 and 9, form two parallel rows, the transfer device 5 then being located between the two rows, close to the removal zone 6 of the machine.
  • the controllable displacement means 11 of each row comprise a conveyor 15, for example of the belt type, capable of being set in motion, which thus makes it possible to bring the replacement magazines 12 and 14 to replace the storage stores 8 and 9, when the cardboard blanks 3 of the latter are exhausted, as will be seen later.
  • Each conveyor 15 can advantageously be associated with a device, not shown, for forming stacks of products resting on the pallets of the storage and replacement stores.
  • a device for forming stacks of products resting on the pallets of the storage and replacement stores.
  • Such a device is, for example, described in French patent application FR-A-88 10830 filed in the name of the Applicant and makes it possible to form stacks of strictly vertical products while being, moreover, regularly spaced along the conveyor .
  • the storage stores 8, 9 and replacement 12, 14 thus offer the system considerable autonomy in operation, which allows the processing machine 7 intended, for example, to produce packaging from said blanks, to be able to operate without interruption and automatically for a long time.
  • the transfer device 5 schematically illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, comprises first, 18, and second, 19, means for gripping said sheet products, that is to say, in this application, the blanks 3 of cardboard.
  • first and second gripping means are arranged and controlled so that, when one of the gripping means grasps the blank upper of the corresponding storage magazine, simultaneously, the other gripping means deposits on the removal zone of the machine the upper blank, previously gripped from the other storage magazine and then transferred to the machine, and vice versa.
  • FIGS. 1 to 3 it can be seen that the first gripping means 18 is ready to grip the upper blank 3 of the stack 4 of the magazine 8, while the second gripping means 19 is ready to deposit on the area 6 of the machine the blank 3 previously entered from the stack 4 of the magazine 9, then transferred.
  • the device 5 thus operates in the manner of a turnstile, each gripping means moving by alternating rotation, between two distinct positions.
  • each conveyor 15 is, for example, made up of two profiles 23, parallel and spaced, and two endless belts 24, each cooperating with a profile, capable of being driven, in a synchronized manner, in rotation by pulleys.
  • each conveyor (shown in phantom in Figure 4), on which the pallets 10 of the storage and replacement stores rest, are set in motion by an electric motor, respectively 25 and 26.
  • L drive of each motor 25 and 26, fixed to the chassis 20, to the bands of the corresponding conveyor is carried out by means of a mechanism 28 with eccentric and belts 29, well known in this field, which allows a slow and progressive starting of the conveyor, then a substantially constant speed thereof, to be completed by a gradual deceleration until stopping.
  • This mechanism 28 thus allows said stacks of products to remain plumb on each conveyor, avoiding their tilting.
  • the path of the belts 29 of the mechanism 28 is illustrated in dashed lines in FIG. 4.
  • the transfer device 5 comprises two arms 30 and 31 fixed to a shaft 32 capable of being rotated alternately by a motor member 33 fixed to one of the side members of the chassis 20.
  • the arm 30 carries the first gripping means 18, while the arm 31 is associated with the second gripping means 19.
  • Each arm 30 and 31 is thus capable of moving between two distinct positions, one of which is located above the corresponding storage magazine and the other of which is located above the machine removal area.
  • the gripping means 18 of the arm 30 is above the stack 4 of the storage magazine 8, while the gripping means 19 of the arm 31 is above the removal zone 6 of the machine 7.
  • the drive member 33 is advantageously a reversible electric motor.
  • the drive of the shaft 32 around the axis of rotation 34 thereof, orthogonal to the plane of said blanks is alternating, each arm moving between the two positions in a plane parallel to said blanks, then that the movement of the gripping means takes place orthogonally to these planes and parallel to the axis of rotation 34 of the shaft 32.
  • the arms 30 and 31 are fixed by one of their ends in the vicinity of the upper end of the shaft 32 by forming an angle of 90 ° between them.
  • the two arms linked to the shaft 32 then operate in the manner of a turnstile, each arm passing alternately and vice versa from one position to the other.
  • connection between the reversible motor 33 and the shaft 32 is produced, for example, by means of a belt transmission 36 and a slide mechanism 37 comprising two levers 38, 39 which cooperate with the other, as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the lever 39 being linked to the shaft 32. It is thus understood that, when the motor 33 is actuated, the two levers will occupy the position illustrated in dashed lines on Figure 5.
  • the gripping means 18 and 19 are identical and each of them comprises a jack, respectively 40 and 41, whose cylinder, 40A and 41A, is fixed to a support, respectively 42 and 43, linked to the corresponding arm, and whose rod, 40B and 41B, is provided at its end with a plate, respectively 44 and 45, carrying controllable suction cups 46 capable of ensuring the taking up and the transfer of a blank from the storage magazine corresponding to the removal area of the machine.
  • each jack 40 and 41 is vertical, orthogonal to the plane of the blanks, each jack being able to occupy two extreme operating positions, high and low.
  • the cylinders have an oval section which prevents, in use, the rod of each of them from rotating relative to the cylinder and thus maintaining the same appropriate position of the suction cups relative to the blanks.
  • each gripping means 18, 19 is capable of occupying two distinct positions along the corresponding arm 30, 31, a first position, distant from the axis of rotation 34 of the shaft 32, corresponding to a position for which the gripping means is located above the removal zone 6 of the machine, and, a second position, close to the axis of rotation 34 of said shaft, corresponding to a position for which said means gripper is located at the corresponding storage store.
  • this arrangement makes it possible to reduce the spacing between the two conveyors 15 on which the storage and replacement magazines rest.
  • each support 42 and 43 associating the corresponding jack 40,41 with the corresponding arms 30,31 is capable of sliding, during the rotation of the shaft 34, along of his arm between the two positions, close and remote from the axis of rotation 34 of the shaft 32, by means of a connecting rod, respectively 50 and 51, one end of which is fixed to the frame 20 and the other end of which is connected to the corresponding jack.
  • a connecting rod respectively 50 and 51, one end of which is fixed to the frame 20 and the other end of which is connected to the corresponding jack.
  • each arm 30 and 31 advantageously consists of two rods 30A, 30B, and, respectively, 31A, 31B, parallel and spaced apart, and being arranged in a vertical plane, orthogonal to the blanks 3
  • Each of the supports 42 and 43 is mounted on its corresponding arm by four rolling bearings 48, two bearings 48 cooperating with each rod.
  • the connecting rod 50 is fixed at one of its ends at 52 to one of the sections of the chassis 20, while the other end is articulated at 53 at the upper end of the jack 40.
  • the connecting rod 51 is fixed at one of its ends at 54 to a profile, opposite the previous one, of the chassis 20, while the other end is articulated at 55 at the upper end of the jack 41.
  • the connecting rod 51 is bent, while the connecting rod 50 is rectilinear, the displacement of the two connecting rods relative to the articulation points of the chassis taking place in superimposed planes, parallel to the blanks 3 and orthogonal to the axis of rotation 34 of the shaft 32.
  • means are provided for detecting and leveling 59 the cardboard blanks contained in each storage magazine.
  • These means 59 comprise, for each store, a photoelectric cell, respectively 60 and 61, fixed to the chassis 20 at a pre-established reference level, as shown in FIG. 7, and a control member, respectively 62 and 63 , allowing the rise of the corresponding storage magazine each time the upper blank 3 of the stack has been gripped and then transferred by the corresponding gripping means.
  • Removing the top sheet from one of the batteries causes transmission of a light beam from the cell to a reflector 60a or 61a which returns the beam to the cell, which causes the actuation of the corresponding control member and the rise of the magazine until the new top sheet of the stack interrupts the transmission of the light beam then stopping said control member.
  • the light beam of each cell has been shown in dotted lines above the upper blank of the corresponding stack.
  • each storage magazine comprises, for example, an electric motor 64 fixed to the upper part of the chassis 20, said motor being capable of cause the storage magazine to rise and / or descend, with which it is associated, by means of a belt 65 and a movable support 66 linked to each store and capable of sliding, when the movement of the belt 65, along two rails 69 formed on vertical profiles 67 of the chassis 20, the support 66 sliding on the rails by means of rollers 68.

  • the rod 40B of the jack 40 descends towards the stack 4 of the magazine 8 until that the suction cups 46 equipping it come into contact with the blank 3 of the magazine 8. As soon as the suction cups 46 land on the blank 3 to grip it, the jack 40 stops.
  • the jacks are then raised to their high position, the jack 40 being provided with a blank 3 thanks to the suction cups.
  • the jacks As soon as the jacks reach the high position, they trigger contacts which cause the reversible motor 33 to rotate. At this moment, the shaft 32, by means of the belt 36 and the mechanism 37, is driven in rotation 90 ° around its axis 34 by the motor 33. The rotation of the shaft 32 in turn causes the rotation of the arm 30, carrying the actuator 40, from the storage magazine 8 to the removal zone 6, while the arm 31, carrying the jack 41, is driven from the deposit zone 6 towards the storage magazine 9. Concomitantly, the jack 40 passes from a position close to the axis of rotation 34 of the shaft 32 to a position distant from the axis 34, above the removal zone, thanks to the connecting rod 50 and to the sliding support 42 to which the jack 40 is fixed. As for the jack 41, it is returned to the position close to the axis 34 by the connecting rod 51 and its sliding support 43. The trajectories of the jacks 40 and 41 between their two posi Separate items are shown in phantom in Figure 6.
