Definitions
- Housings of consumer electronics devices such as Television receivers, loudspeakers and racks preferably consist of several plates, which are assembled at the edges.
- Chipboard with a thickness of approximately 10 mm is preferably used for this.
- the chipboard is provided with a film according to the desired design, e.g. Walnut, teak, rosewood, the foil preferably spanning the respective corners of the housing without interruption.
- the invention has for its object to provide a novel material for such plates for a housing, which has advantages in various respects, in particular with regard to the manufacture, use and safety.
- chipboard or fiberboard can be used, which contain components made of plaster or cement.
- Such boards are known, inter alia, as gypsum fibreboards, cement-bonded chipboard (Duripanel), gypsum-bonded chipboard and gypsum chipboard.
- Gypsum chipboard and gypsum fibreboard consist of cellulose with gypsum as a binder.
- the gypsum fibreboards are made from waste paper and are therefore inexpensive in terms of recycling and particularly environmentally friendly in the production phase.
- Such fiberboard can additionally with elastic long fiber materials, e.g. Glass fibers, rock wool or mineral wool fibers, carbon and aramid fibers are reinforced.
- Gypsum fibreboards have a density of approximately 1.15 - 1.20 kg / l, a bending strength of 8.0 N / mm 2 in the longitudinal direction and 8.5 N / mm 2 in the transverse direction, a transverse tensile strength of 0.3 - 0 , 4 N / mm 2 and a fire protection class A2.
- the modulus of elasticity of such plates is approximately 3500 NImm 2 in the longitudinal direction and approximately 4000 NImm 2 in the transverse direction.
- the material is initially more environmentally friendly, namely in the production phase, in the use phase and in the disposal phase.
- the harmful substances formaldehyde and uric acid occur in the production and processing of previously used chipboard. This is not the case with the material according to the invention. Rather, gypsum and sulfur are bound there to a greater extent. This is advantageous because these substances are increasingly being obtained in flue gas desulfurization, have relatively few possible uses, and therefore the possibility of using these substances is advantageous in terms of environmental friendliness
- the loudspeaker can transmit vibrations to the picture tube via the housing, which can lead to picture disturbances there through excitations of the shadow mask. These disturbances are also reduced, so that in certain cases previously used measures such as an artificial increase in the mass of the magnet of the speaker can be omitted.

- the plates according to the invention can be processed using conventional machines.
- the material according to the invention has a lower flammability and thus an increased operational reliability.
- the material used belongs to class A2, labeled "flame retardant". This advantage is particularly important where, as in the Scandinavian countries, there is a high risk of fire and high requirements with regard to non-combustibility.

- Fig. 1 shows the housing of a television receiver with an upper housing wall 1, a side wall 2, the bottom 3, the picture tube 4 and the front cover frame 5.
- the cover frame 5 and the Rear wall, not shown, are produced in the usual way as a plastic injection molded part.
- the upper housing wall 1, the rear housing wall 2, the front housing wall, not shown, and the bottom 3 consist of gypsum fiber boards or cement-bonded chipboard with a thickness of about 10 mm.
- a cement-bonded chipboard is commercially available, for example, under the trade name "Duripanel”.
- the plates forming the individual housing walls are covered with a foil that represents a veneer and extends continuously over the edges of the housing without interruption.
- the properties of gypsum-bonded chipboard are described in more detail, for example, in WKI Communication 404/1985, special print from tiz 1985, No. 10, pages 756 to 759.
- the four housing walls described in FIG. 1 initially form a continuous rigid plate which is coated with a film forming the veneer. This plate is then milled at the locations of the provided housing edges in such a way that the panel can be bent at an angle of 90 ° at these locations without damaging the continuous film.
- Fig. 2 shows a continuous plate 6 in the form of a gypsum fiber board or cement-bonded chipboard, which corresponds to the entirety of the surfaces of the four housing parts according to FIG. 1 and is provided on the surface with a film 7 forming a veneer.
- the plate is passed through a milling machine, several incisions 8 being milled in, which extend as far as the film 7, but do not damage it. Between the incisions 8 there are webs 9 made of the material of the plate 6, the height of which has a lower or the same value than the thickness of the plate 6.
- An adhesive 10 is then filled into the incisions 8.
- the plate 6 is placed in a device.
- the device is designed such that the plate 6 is bent immediately after the application of the adhesive 10 and is held in a corresponding position until the adhesive 10 has hardened.
- the adhesive 10 sets within a few seconds. In this way, the plate 6, which is initially considerably weakened by the incisions 8, is again almost as strong as the unmilled plate 6.
- Adhesive processes with a combination of several adhesives are also conceivable, in which one fast-binding adhesive is a pre-fixation and a second, slowly setting one Adhesive gives the final strength.
- Adhesive processes with a combination of several adhesives are also conceivable, in which one fast-binding adhesive is a pre-fixation and a second, slowly setting one Adhesive gives the final strength.
- Such methods with two differently acting adhesives are described in DE-PS 29 27 182.
- the special arrangement of the incisions 8 automatically forms a clean round edge when the plate 6 is bent.
- This method known from DE-OS 21 14 364 for producing a housing from a plate can thus also be used advantageously in gypsum fibreboard and cement-bonded chipboard.
- the additionally shown film 11 temporarily serves to stabilize the film 7 during the manufacturing process and is then removed again.

Abstract
Description
Housings of consumer electronics devices such as Television receivers, loudspeakers and racks preferably consist of several plates, which are assembled at the edges. Chipboard with a thickness of approximately 10 mm is preferably used for this. The chipboard is provided with a film according to the desired design, e.g. Walnut, teak, rosewood, the foil preferably spanning the respective corners of the housing without interruption.
The invention has for its object to provide a novel material for such plates for a housing, which has advantages in various respects, in particular with regard to the manufacture, use and safety.
This object is achieved by the invention described in claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
Basically, chipboard or fiberboard can be used, which contain components made of plaster or cement. Such boards are known, inter alia, as gypsum fibreboards, cement-bonded chipboard (Duripanel), gypsum-bonded chipboard and gypsum chipboard. Gypsum chipboard and gypsum fibreboard consist of cellulose with gypsum as a binder. The gypsum fibreboards are made from waste paper and are therefore inexpensive in terms of recycling and particularly environmentally friendly in the production phase. Such fiberboard can additionally with elastic long fiber materials, e.g. Glass fibers, rock wool or mineral wool fibers, carbon and aramid fibers are reinforced.
Gypsum fibreboards have a density of approximately 1.15 - 1.20 kg / l, a bending strength of 8.0 N / mm 2 in the longitudinal direction and 8.5 N / mm 2 in the transverse direction, a transverse tensile strength of 0.3 - 0 , 4 N / mm 2 and a fire protection class A2. The modulus of elasticity of such plates is approximately 3500 NImm 2 in the longitudinal direction and approximately 4000 NImm 2 in the transverse direction.
It had to be assumed that a cement-based material for housings for consumer electronics devices is out of the question, since the special characteristics and advantages of cement do not appear to be relevant for such devices. However, it has been shown that the material used according to the invention achieves a surprisingly large number of advantages, some of which are independent of one another.
The harmful substances formaldehyde and uric acid occur in the production and processing of previously used chipboard.
There is also an improvement in the acoustic performance of the devices with housing made of the plates according to the invention. This is due to the fact that the housings have a higher damping and therefore a lower distortion behavior with acoustic excitation. Housings according to the invention are therefore less sensitive to disturbing resonance effects.
There is also less acoustic coupling due to structure-borne noise, so that disturbing microphonic phenomena are reduced in certain devices. In a television receiver, for example, the loudspeaker can transmit vibrations to the picture tube via the housing, which can lead to picture disturbances there through excitations of the shadow mask. These disturbances are also reduced, so that in certain cases previously used measures such as an artificial increase in the mass of the magnet of the speaker can be omitted.
The invention also reduces the pure material costs. It has been shown that the tool wear when cutting or milling the boards according to the invention is even less than when machining chipboard. The plates according to the invention can be processed using conventional machines.
The material according to the invention has a lower flammability and thus an increased operational reliability. The material used belongs to class A2, labeled "flame retardant". This advantage is particularly important where, as in the Scandinavian countries, there is a high risk of fire and high requirements with regard to non-combustibility.
The material is also tropical-proof and particularly suitable for climatic conditions with high temperatures and high air humidity.
- Fig. 1 in section the housing of a television receiver and
- 2, 3 a possibility for the production of edges between the plates according to the invention.
Die Eigenschaften gipsgebundener Spanplatten sind z.B. näher beschrieben in der WKI Mitteilung 404/1985, Sonderdruck aus tiz 1985, Nr. 10, Seite 756 bis 759.Fig. 1 shows the housing of a television receiver with an upper housing wall 1, a
The four housing walls described in FIG. 1 initially form a continuous rigid plate which is coated with a film forming the veneer. This plate is then milled at the locations of the provided housing edges in such a way that the panel can be bent at an angle of 90 ° at these locations without damaging the continuous film.
Derartige Verfahren mit zwei unterschiedlich wirkenden Klebern sind beschrieben in der DE-PS 29 27 182.Such a known solution is shown in FIGS. 2, 3. Fig. 2 shows a
The special arrangement of the
