Description

The invention relates to a method for superimposing at least two flexible layers, in particular a back panel and a front panel of an article such as underpants in the textile and hosiery industry. The invention extends to a device suitable for superimposing at least two flexible layers implementing this method.

Currently, the traditional manufacture of briefs requires three preliminary workstations for the preparation of these briefs. The first workstation consists of making the edge seams of the two layers of fabric, front and back. The second station consists in sewing the gusset by its median axis on the front panel. The third position is finally to deploy the gusset on the front panel, on either side of the middle seam, and to fix it by two points in order to maintain it in this position for the following operations.

According to another technique, the gusset is first pre-assembled with the front panel and then this front panel / gusset assembly is paired with the back panel at a workstation described in the GB-A patent. -2,194,725.

However, this technique requires at least two workstations, including the one described in patent GB-A-2,194,725, or even three workstations if the gusset plate is assembled on the front panel according to the process used during traditional manufacturing. .

The main objective of the present invention is to replace all of these preparation stations with one-pass manufacturing on a single work station.

To this end, the invention relates to a method for superimposing at least two flexible layers, in particular a back panel and a front panel of an article such as briefs in the textile and hosiery industry, characterized in what it consists of forming a stack of each type of layers and of distributing said stacks on a tray, then for each of these stacks:
  • to grasp at least one layer of a stack by means of a gripping assembly disposed above the tray, by relatively moving said tray and gripping assembly between a position, called a rest position, where they are distant from a predetermined distance and a gripping position of the layers,
  • subjecting the gripping assembly to a translational movement so as to bring it above a deposition member and to actuate said assembly so as to release the layer and to extend it over said deposition member,
  • to bring the gripping assembly above the tray and to rotate said tray by a portion of a tower adapted to position a second stack directly above the gripping assembly.

Thus, during each operating cycle, corresponding to a number of back-and-forth movements of the gripping assembly equivalent to the number of stacks distributed over the tray, this method makes it possible to grasp and superimpose on the depositing member. , one layer of each stack.

Preferably, the layers are deposited astride a depositing member consisting of a vertical plate provided with a horizontal upper depositing edge.

In addition, these layers are advantageously deposited, firstly, on two depositing bars arranged on either side of the depositing plate, parallel to the upper edge of the latter and moving between a substantially raised position with respect to said layer. upper edge and a low retracted position.

The deposition of each layer is therefore carried out beforehand on the two deposition bars so that this layer does not displace the lower layer or layers of the superposition, when it is brought above the deposition plate. These deposit bars then retract to allow the layer concerned to fall astride the deposit plate.

Furthermore, according to a preferred embodiment, the transported layers are braked by suction in the vicinity and upstream of the depositing member so as to eliminate any risk of undulation of these layers.

In the case where this method is implemented for superimposing a back panel, a front panel and a gusset of briefs, the stacks of gussets and fronts are also advantageously placed on the tray with a centrifugal offset from the back stack so that the grip assembly grips each front and each gusset along a line near a longitudinal end thereof and each back along an intermediate line.

Thus each front and each gusset is extended astride the depositing plate, without longitudinal folding. On the contrary, each back is found folded longitudinally on the removal plate.

Furthermore, the depositing member is advantageously subjected to a translational movement moving it apart or bringing it closer to the plate in order to adjust the position of said depositing member and to obtain a superposition of the layers with one of their longitudinal edge aligned.

The three layers are thus superimposed in an appropriate position to allow the operator to perform on the same sewing machine, first the axial stitching of the gusset, then the two side seams. During these operations, folding the back prevents it from being sewn when the axial stitching of the gusset is made.

The machine shown in Figures 1 to 4 is intended to superimpose three flexible layers such as a front panel, a back panel and a slip pocket.

This plate 1 comprises holding and positioning bodies for respective back, front and gusset stacks. These members, distributed on the plate 1 so as to delimit between them angles of 120 degrees, are constituted by bars 5 adjacent to the center of the plate and guided vertically to ensure by their weight the pinching of a longitudinal edge of the layers, in the example of the bottom of each of these layers.

In addition, at least one of these holding bars 5 is associated with means for adjusting its position adapted to radially adjust this position on the plate 1. These adjusting means comprise a strip 6 disposed radially on the plate 1 and bearing towards one of its ends a strip 5, said strip comprising a longitudinal slot making it possible to adjust its position by means of a pressure screw 7 housed in this slot and passing through a lumen formed in the plate 1.

For a purpose that will be better understood below, the retaining bars 5 intended to ensure the maintenance and positioning of the stacks of gussets and fronts are, moreover, arranged with a centrifugal offset relative to the retaining bar back stacks.

In addition, the rotation drive means 2, 3 of the plate 1 are adapted to rotate it third of a turn by third of a turn so as to bring each stack successively in line with a gripping assembly adapted to grip a layer of a stack.

The plate 1 is also subjected after each third of a turn to an upward movement which rises the stacks towards the gripping assembly and allows the latter to grasp the upper layer thereof.

For this purpose, the machine comprises a pneumatic cylinder 8 arranged vertically and provided with a rod carrying towards its end a horizontal support plate 9. From a retracted position where the support plate 9 is located at a distance under the plate 1, this jack 8 is adapted to deploy so that this support plate 9 comes into contact with the underside of the plate 1, causing the latter to rise.

In addition, the upper face of the support plate 9 and the lower face of the plate 1 are provided with interlocking structures of conjugate shapes, adapted to ensure precise rotations of the plate. These nesting structures consist of three female footprints conical 10 formed in the underside of the plate 1, into which are introduced, at each deployment of the cylinder 8, conical studs 11 disposed on the upper face of the support plate 9, which guarantee at the end of each rotation a precise positioning of the plate 1.

The gripping assembly is in turn composed of a frame 12, carried by the movable member 13a of a pneumatic cylinder without rod 13 arranged horizontally, and on which are mounted four gripping heads 14 aligned, as described in FR patent n ° 84.04804, FR certificate of addition n ° 86.02951 or request for FR certificate of addition n ° 88.06752.

This gripping assembly is subjected to a horizontal translational movement bringing it above the plate 1 directly above a stack or above a vertical plate 15 provided with a horizontal upper edge for depositing disposed substantially in the same horizontal plane as the plate 1, in the upper gripping position of the latter.

This depositing plate 15 is carried by vertical feet 16 slidingly mounted along two horizontal guide bars 17 so as to allow this plate 15 to be displaced in a translational movement moving it apart or approaching it from the plate 1. This movement of translation is generated by a pneumatic cylinder 18 arranged horizontally and whose rod is secured to the vertical feet 16 carrying the plate 15.

Les barres de dépose 19 s'escamotent ensuite après chaque dépose pour laisser la couche concernée retomber sur la plaquette de dépose 15.Furthermore, on either side of the plate 15 and parallel to the upper edge thereof, there are two depositing bars 19 subjected to a vertical reciprocating movement between a position slightly raised relative to the edge of the plate 15 and a low retracted position. The deposition of each layer is thus carried out on the deposition bars 19 so that the upper layer of the superposition does not move the one or those below, when it is brought above the deposition plate 15. The bars removal 19 then retract after each removal to let the layer concerned fall on the removal plate 15.

In order to obtain this reciprocating movement, the depositing bars 19 are carried by two handles 20 secured to the movable member 21a of a rodless cylinder 21 arranged vertically. These two handles 20 are, moreover, arranged on either side of a vertical guide plate 22 on the longitudinal edges of which they bear by means of a roller 23. This guide plate 22, provided an upper section of width less than the lower section, allows during the upward movement of the jack 21, to undergo a movement of approach to the bars 19 so that the latter are located substantially side by side above the upper edge of the plate 15. On the other hand, during the downward movement of the jack 21, the bars 19 deviate from one another so as to deposit the layer astride the upper edge of the plate 15 and to retract on the side and on the other side of this brochure.

The purpose of these nozzles 24 is to brake the fabric of the layers passing at their level so as to eliminate any risk of the appearance of corrugation and to eliminate angular offsets or other defects in positioning of the layers relative to the depositing plate 15.

Finally, two blowing nozzles 25 disposed above the plate 15 prevent undulations or folds from appearing at the points of the gussets or fronts when the latter are placed astride this plate.

The operation of this machine is described below with reference to Figures 5a to 5k.

La plaquette de dépose 15 se trouve quant à elle en positon avancée vis-à-vis du plateau 1, correspondant à un état déployé du vérin 18.At the start of the cycle, the gripping assembly 12, 14 is positioned above the plate 1, directly above the back stack (FIG. 5a). The removal plate 15 is in its advanced position vis-à-vis the plate 1, corresponding to a deployed state of the jack 18.

The jack 8 is then deployed so as to bring the upper layer of the back stack in contact with the grippers 14 and ensure the setting of this layer as described in patent FR n ° 84.04804, the certificate of addition FR n ° 86.02951 or the request for certificate of addition FR n ° 88.06752 (Figure 5b). Due to the centrifugal offset of this back stack, the layer is also gripped at an intermediate line.

The gripping assembly 12, 14 is then subjected to a translational movement bringing it above the depositing plate 15, while the depositing bars 19 are brought to their slightly raised position relative to the upper edge of this plate (Figure 5c).

Ce panneau est ensuite déposé sur la plaquette de dépose 15, après escamotage des barres de dépose 19, tandis que l'ensemble de préhension 12, 14 est ramené vers le plateau 1 (figure 5e).The grippers 14 are then actuated as described in patent FR n ° 84.04804, the certificate of addition FR n ° 86.02951 or the request for certificate of addition FR n ° 88.06752, and the back panel is placed astride the removal bars 19, being folded longitudinally on itself (Figure 5d). This panel is then deposited on the depositing plate 15, after retraction of the depositing bars 19, while the gripping assembly 12, 14 is brought back towards the plate 1 (FIG. 5e).

The turntable 1 then undergoes a rotation of a third of a turn, the jack 8 being retracted, intended to bring the front stack vertically in line with the gripping assembly 12, 14 and the jack 8 deployed so as to bringing the upper layer of this stack in contact with the grippers 14. Unlike the back panel, and due to the centrifugal offset of this front stack, the layer is then gripped along a line close to its bottom.

Parallèlement, la plaquette de dépose 15 est amenée dans sa position reculée vis-à-vis du plateau 1, correspondant à un état rétracté du vérin 18 (figures 5f et 5g).In parallel, the depositing plate 15 is brought into its retracted position with respect to the plate 1, corresponding to a retracted state of the jack 18 (FIGS. 5f and 5g).

The gripping assembly 12, 14 is then again brought above the depositing plate 15, while the depositing bars 19 undergo an upward movement (FIG. 5h), and the front panel is removed, extended on horseback on these deposit bars 19, without longitudinal folding (FIG. 5i).

After retraction of the deposit bars 19, the front panel is therefore extended on the deposit plate 15 without longitudinal folding (FIG. 5j). In addition, this plate 15 being further from the plate 1 than when removing the back panel, the front edge of this back panel and that of the front panel are perfectly aligned.

Finally, and as for the front panels, the gripping assembly 12, 14 comes to grab a gusset panel and place it on the removal plate 15 (Figure 5k). The three layers are then superimposed on each other in an appropriate position to allow their immediate sewing.

The operator can thus grasp the three layers and carry out on the same sewing machine first the clamp seam (axial stitching of the gusset), then the two side seams. The folding of the back prevents it from being sewn when the gusset seam is made.

The time required to carry out these automated preparation operations is divided by a coefficient of around 2.4 compared to that required to carry out the three traditional preparation operations mentioned in the preamble.
