Durch diese Anordnung der vier grossen Zylinder benötigt die Maschine, senkrecht zu den Zylinderachsen gesehen, sehr viel Platz, da sich zu den Abmessungen der Farbwerkgestelle auf beiden Seiten praktisch eine dem Vierfachen eines Zylinderdurchmessers entsprechende Länge addiert. Die Farben auf jedem der Farbsammelzylinder werden, um den wegen der Konvertierbarkeit der Maschine erforderlichen Drehrichtungen der Zylinder Rechnung zu tragen, mittels je eines besonderen Zwischenzylinders auf den die Sammeldruckplatte tragenden Plattenzylinder übertragen. Claims (6)
- Sheet-fed or web-fed multi-colour rotary printing machine for simultaneous recto-verso printing, especially for printing the safety background on security papers, above all banknotes, with two blanket cylinders (4, 14), which form a printing nip and between which the paper (1) to be printed runs through, thereby being printed on both sides, with two plate cylinders (5, 15), each of which carries a collect-printing plate (5a, 15a) and is in contact with one of the two blanket cylinders (4, 14), and with two colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) which are arranged at a distance from one another, said colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) are arranged in a lower position than the blanket cylinders (4, 14) and respectively offset obliquely outwards relative to these, each colour-collecting cylinder being on the one hand associated with one of the plate cylinders (5, 15) and being on the other hand in contact with several colour selector cylinders (8, 18), each inked by an inking unit (9, 19), each colour-collecting cylinder transferring all the colours obtained from these colour selector cylinders onto the respective collect-printing plate, at least one of the two blanket cylinders (4, 14) interacting with at least one additional printing unit (10, 11, 11a; 20, 21, 21a), the plate cylinder (10; 20) of which is in contact with the respective blanket cylinder (4, 14), the blanket cylinders (4; 14) and the colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) being of the same size and having a diameter which is an integral multiple of, preferably three times, the diameter of the plate cylinders (5, 15, 10, 20) and of the colour selector cylinders (8, 18), characterized in that- the two planes, in which lie the axes of the blanket cylinder (4) and of the colour-collecting cylinder (6) arranged in the one machine half, on the one hand, and the axes of the blanket cylinder (14) and of the colour-collecting cylinder (16), arranged in the other machine half, on the other hand, intersect above the printing nip at an angle of maximal 120°,- the distance of the two colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) from one another is at least as large as their diameter,- the plate cylinders (5, 15) that carry the collect printing plates (5a, 15a) are arranged on the top of the colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) and are in contact with these in such a manner that the undersides of the blanket cylinders (4, 14) as well as those of the colour-collecting cylinders (6, 16) are freely accessible,- removable automatic blanket-washing devices (7, 17) are provided on said undersides of the two blanket cylinders (4, 14) and of the two colour-collecting cylinders (6; 16).
- Printing machine as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said angle is 50° to 80°.
- Printing machine as claimed in one of Claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the additional printing unit is a dry or wet offset-printing unit.
- Printing machine as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the additional printing unit (10, 11, 11a; 20, 21, 21a) is a wet offset-printing unit with an intaglio printing plate dampened by a dampening unit (11a, 21a).
- Printing machine as claimed in one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the collect-printing plates (5a, 15a) have the respective multi-colour printing designs for a particular safety background, and the printing plate (10; 20) inked with one colour and belonging to the additional printing unit (10, 11, 11a; 20, 21, 21a) has a main design.
- Printing machine as Claimed in Claim 5, characterized in that the printing plate (10; 20) of the additional printing unit has, in addition to the main design, a further safety-background design completing the multi-colour safety background.
