Abstract

A sewing machine capable of automatically severing a thread chain between successive pieces of sewing material includes a cutting device provided behind a sewing needle in a feed direction of the sewing material, a suction device for sucking the thread chain toward the cutting device, and a feeder and a cooperating pressure plate of a presser foot which each have a projection extending in the feed direction such that the cutting device and the ends of the feeder and the presser plate lie substantially in one plane.

Description

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Nähmaschine mit einer Einrichtung zum selbsttätigen Durchtrennen der Fadenkette zwischen aufeinanderfolgenden Nähgutstücken, aufweisend folgende Merkmale:

  • (a) einen Stoffschieber und eine Drückerfuß-Druckplatte, die sich seitlich der Nähachse jeweils mit einem vorderen Bereich über die Nähnadelposition hinaus weiter nach vorn in Nähgutvorschubrichtung erstrecken;
  • (b) eine Schneideinrichtung, die auf der den vorderen Bereichen des Stoffschiebers und der Druckplatte entgegengesetzten Seite seitlich gegenüber der Nähachse versetzt und in Nähgutvorschubrichtung weiter vorn als die Nähnadelposition angeordnet ist; und
  • (c) eine der Schneideinrichtung zugeordnete Saugeinrichtung, um die zwischen zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Nähgutstücken befindliche Fadenkette zur Seite und zu der Schneideinrichtung zu saugen, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
  • (d) daß jeweils in dem vorderen Bereich sowohl der Stoffschieber als auch die Druckplatte an der von der Schneideinrichtung entfernteren Seite eine sich in Nähgutvorschubrichtung erstreckende Verlängerung aufweisen;
  • (e) und daß - in Richtung der Nähachse gemessendie Enden der Verlängerungen sowie die Schneidstelle der Schneideinrichtung im wesentlichen den gleichen Abstand von der Nähnadelposition haben.

Dadurch wird die Arbeitsfläche der Nähmaschine für das nachfolgende Nähgutstück freigemacht. Die Fertigstellung des Nähvorgangs am vorherigen Nähgutstück und die Weitergabe des fertiggenähten Nähgutstücks erfolgen selbsttätig, ohne daß die Bedienungsperson dies besonders überwachen und zwecks Weitertransports des fertiggenähten Nähgutstücks eingreifen muß. In der Figur 1 ist über dem Stoffschieber 3 eine mit diesem zusammenwirkende Druckplatte 6 eines heb- und absenkbaren Drückerfußes 7 der Nähmaschine veranschaulicht. Schließlich ist eine Schneidvorrichtung 8 mit integrierter Saugvorrichtung, parallel zur Nähachse A ausgerichtet, der rechten Längsseite der Arbeitsfläche 1 entlang angeordnet.
